Badley Fuckitt Welcomes Careful Drivers

That's where I want to live right now. Home of the Bluestocking pub and the Shady Pines, the favoured retirement home of gin-swilling, cantankerous elderly gender crit feminists. It's like that village in the Dales which dodged the bubonic plague and is a haven from PoMo fuckwittery. Anyone else in?

Stewart Lee's comedy vehicle 🤣🤣🤣 I'll bet he's GC and been barred from making new programmes boatyard

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 27/06/2021 09:06

The way things are going it seems we need lanes to drive camels…

I'm pottering round in a tricycle in the hope that I'll end up with hawsers for muscles in my legs.

boatyardblues · 27/06/2021 09:00

There’s a sheepfold next to the electric charging point, the horse hitching post and the buggy store at the Bluestocking, Prion.

Personally, I’m driving a clown car with one of those massive comedy horns.

What are the careful drivers driving? I’m driving my herd of sheep along a drove road in the area. Is there somewhere suitable I can park them?

Olderbadger1 · 27/06/2021 00:18

Bit pissed (been in the ranters & swearers corner of the Bluestocking) so I realise this might be a BF mirage but if not let joy be unbounded!

Can I come in?

I think you need a string quartet playing Boccherini in the teashop. I can play the violin and cello but not at the same time.
I'm sure you could if you tried hard enough. Badley Fuckitt is no place for the lazy or weakwilled.*

Some members of the orchestra are a bit competitive but it raises the standard overall. WinkStar

@ifIwerenotanandroid

I haven't RTFT but has anyone opened a haberdashery shop yet? "A quarter yard of purple ribbon, please." I could do that.
We emphatically need a Hateful Haberdashery shop full of ribbons, yarns, crochet hooks, with a space for Jess De Wahls to teach embroidery and Leeds Spinners to teach craftivism.

I was trying to remember the name of this idyllic retreat. I shall pour myself a drink and reminisce.

boatyardblues · 25/06/2021 19:49

There are a lot of posters in Badley Fuckett who are sadly no longer with us Sad

With any luck, they are safely settled in Badley Fuckett propping up the bar at the Bluestocking’s sister establishment, The Airy Bloomers. I just know the fierce women of BF have a wild swimming club. I’d be there in a flash if I wasn’t grounded by domestic ties here in the real world.

A toast to fallen sisters!

Also, will someone please check on the children on the bouncy castle, we put them in there in 2018, and I’m not sure if anyone’s checked in on them since 😱

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 25/06/2021 18:49

I'm all in for the portal, the shop, Shady Pines, the works.

Just Brigadoon me when necessary.

boatyardblues · 04/03/2021 22:44

I like the sound of Frigg in the Marsh.

Manderleyagain · 04/03/2021 22:34

Oh I'm glad to see this village retreat back. I had forgotten its name so would never have found it in advanced search. Doomed to wondering the hills forever looking for Morton cum Blobby, or Frigg in Marsh or somewhere.

Olderstyle1 · 04/03/2021 22:27

I've put on so much weight during lockdown I'm a bit concerned that I'd get stuck in the portal like Winnie the Pooh in Rabbit's house and screw things up for everybody.

But oh how I long for the verdant pastures, gingham pinafores and clotted cream of my Badley Fuckitt imaginings.

@ErrolTheDragon

Portals stay open forever, and occasionally new ones appear.Grin
Grumbling a bit as portals seem to have opened between certain areas that one might wish had stayed closed - much as that parallels certain Stargate or Star Trek stories.

But, BF and the Bluestocking are our own Room/Community of Requirement - today's gluten-free biscuits to stock up various snack spots were: buckwheat crackers; cheese, coconut, pistachio, 2 types of almond, pecan, and walnut.

Lovely to see Badley Fuckitt back on the front page of FWR. The way I picture it, it is firmly out of my area so I can’t visit just now. If the portal in the biscuit aisle of Tescos is still active, I could use that to circumvent the local police checks and drop by.

I was going to comment that Badley Fuckitt seems untouched by c*vid!

TwistedEyeOfHorus · 03/03/2021 23:22

Age is only a number... you could always identify as older....

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 03/03/2021 22:44

Yes - there's a run on the fresh malt loaf so while the rest is ageing I shall be baking tomorrow. It's a gluten-free run of biscuit batches so there's as little cross-contamination as possible.

I have aged fruit cake for anyone wanting to pack a snap tin for hillwalking.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/03/2021 22:24

Do we have a tea shop yet?

Of course. Today's special appears to be malt loaf.

AnotherAdultHumanFemale · 12/08/2019 21:09

I like Jack’s Mountie uniform, the useful men in boots and all the lovely horses, but the strong female friendships and community support are good too.

Jack is so handsome isn't he, everyone seems to fancy him haha. I must confess that I am not so keen on Elizabeth, I find her very cringeworthy, I think because she started off as this gawky clueless out of town spoilt teacher and then they tried to say she was this great beauty that the whole town including Jack loved. I kind of feel the actress was miscast, she doesn't fit the role well in my view but I am also probably jealous since Jack is not only kind but also attractive.

I'd like Badley to have a nice sewing shop like Hope Valley, I volunteer as seamstress to make us all fabulous outfits.

Do we have a tea shop yet?

EducatingArti · 12/08/2019 20:08

Ooh. I love a good temple complex. Can we have some cremation burials nearby too? Tweedy excavation outfits sound fun!
