I said it would make the front page. I was told it was a fringe issue. Minor and didn't interest many people.

Now whether I'm on the 'right side of history' or not, I certainly saw this one coming a mile off when others didn't.

Sigh

It's depressing to see this on the front page of the Mail

It didn't need to go like this.

It won't be the last time.

I suspect the school is not unique. As part of a casual conversation yesterday my physio said the school their mum taught in was seeing similar numbers. All from none perhaps five years ago.

Hmm. It will be very interesting to see what the "newspaper headlines" sections of the various news channels make of that not that I'm glaring over the tops of my glasses at the BBC.

Anyone else notice the sub-headline that "most are autistic?" I honestly think that that is a massive problem. Teens with ASD can struggle to fit in, and they can also be highly suggestable. Imo a lot of them can be easily manipulated into thinking that the reason they're struggling to fit in is because they're the wrong gender. My own DD, who has ASD (as do I) says if she had heard about transgenderism when she was 13/14 she would have easily been sucked in.

As a kind of mass hysteria, a backlash against feminism, a covert push to sterilise 'misfits'?

I'm pretty sure I know how they won't see it - as the sudden discovery that hundreds of thousands of gendered souls were trapped in the wrong bodies.

Ha ha, yes, that headline does read poorly Nico... 17 children would not be a very big school... makes it sound like the little village primary I went to a couple of decades or so ago...

Either that or it's a particularly poorly written headline.

But yes, am glad that it's being talked about. Hopefully this will invoke further discussion.
