I saw a transactivist suggest that black slaves who had a lower rate of suicide than transpeople did not face unsupportive family members and that might account for it, although to be fair they realised what they were saying and went on to say it wasn't a competition.

There's been research done on suicide and war. Apparently the suicide rate in general goes down during war time. Its been attributed to people having a 'cause' to follow.

Personally I'm slightly dubious about this, because it comes down to methodology. Suicide rates rely on suicides being classified as suicide. In wartime, how do you decide that someone has committed suicide or has carried out 'an heroic act against the odds and in the face of danger' which resulted in their death?

Its impossible to tell.

So yeah, I think that argument is perhaps best just parked there.

I might write an essay about stalin, the stasi, totalitarianism, fascism, nationalism, gender cult, the failings of the press in the 21st century and the decline of democracy. And clog up the voting booth for an hour whilst I write very small. Just four women in a polling station could reak havoc.
