As it's Trans Awareness Week I wanted to give a shout out to all the old school Trans folk who are busy getting on with their lives and are not so vocal online.

Peace and acceptance to you all
xx

Does anyone have stats on ‘most terror attacks’ being done by Muslims? Because I could have swore that there was a link going round here or Twitter not to long ago that had links to all the terror attacks from non Muslim white males?

VMisaMarshmallow · 13/11/2018 07:02

Little - I said us prisons. & no I don’t have links, it was several years back it was going round here. It was an article that reported the survey, no sure it was particularly non biased etc but I doubt it would be hard to look & find on google.

FurryDice · 13/11/2018 03:04

I feel like it’s been ‘Trans Awareness week’ since at least the beginning of 2017.

AngryAttackKittens · 13/11/2018 02:56

Sure, but this one, in this space? Nah. Wrestling with pigs, etc.

FadingMint · 13/11/2018 02:51

AAK, have you never done similar?

Have you never pointed out to a misogynist racist the error of his ways, from an ordinary woman's point of view?

AngryAttackKittens · 13/11/2018 02:36

I'm genuinely curious as to why people keep engaging with Scott. It's like feeding a stray - you're just encouraging him to stick around.

FadingMint · 13/11/2018 02:09

If so, then why are institutions such as Girlguiding pushing to include people with a penis in girls' and women's spaces? Why are schools expected to accommodated boys who say they are trans in girls' facilities, but girls are not allowed to protest about this, or even be informed about it?
Why do male feelings take precedence over the actual biology of women and girls?

ScottCheggJnr · 13/11/2018 01:56

But neither are all trans people. Confused

Fairenuff · 13/11/2018 01:02

But again, why is 'peak trans' acceptable if the others are not?

The 'others' are not trying to force women in the uk to see their penis.

Is that clear enough for you?

FadingMint · 13/11/2018 00:56

Opinion Update: peak MRA Islamophobe, with added racism.

ScottCheggJnr · 13/11/2018 00:43

But again, why is 'peak trans' acceptable if the others are not?

The above argument about the ill intentions of the TRA lobby is weak sauce in my view. Firstly, TRAs do not represent all of the trans community to some of whom the term 'peak trans' is undoubtedly offensive, and furthermore it isn't considered acceptable for POC to be racist towards Caucasians despite our serious transgressions in the past (even if it is somewhat understandable).

ScottCheggJnr · 13/11/2018 00:38

In day to day life I tend to evaluate people on their individual character. In fact, I'm good friends with a Muslim boxer who regularly comes round to spar beat the shit out of me.

However, I agree with Christopher Hitchens (despite him being a pompous twat) that it's the apocalyptic element of Islam (e.g. the 'final' religion) which causes it to be so catastrophic when taken to its extreme conclusion. If I'm not allowed to say that then surely we can't criticise Christianity either (which also has its fair share of problems IMO).

YouCanCallMeJodieWho · 13/11/2018 00:37

You sound exactly like all the pathetic men who complain about International Women's Day and their whatabouterry.

If you genuinely claim to be feminists and not anti trans, complaining about international trans awareness week is not a good way to go about it.

Fairenuff · 13/11/2018 00:29

Yeah, what the hell is 'peak lesbian'. What have they ever done to you Scott?

ScottCheggJnr · 13/11/2018 00:28

First of all could you provide the source to back up this statement you made: half of British Muslims think homosexuality should be illegal and 40% support Sharia law

----------------

More than half of British Muslims (52%) think homosexuality should not be legal, and nearly half (47%) think it is not appropriate for gay people to teach in schools, according to a new survey of British Muslims.

www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2016/04/11/europe/britain-muslims-survey/index.html

"There are relatively large levels of support among British Muslims for the implementation of elements of Sharia law," Policy Exchange said. 43% said they supported "the introduction of Sharia Law" and just 22% were opposed.

www.secularism.org.uk/news/2016/12/over-40-percent-of-uk-muslims-support-aspects-of-sharia-law

FadingMint · 13/11/2018 00:26

Peak MRA with other issues too, but that's just my ladybrain opinion.

FloralBunting · 13/11/2018 00:24

Chegg, mate, you appear to be very pleased with yourself, but your basic comprehension is lacking all over the place here. Plenty of us have issues with patriarchal religion, and say so, but we don't 'condemn Islam'. Plenty of us want to able to say no to dicks anywhere we choose to - but we don't 'condemn all transwomen'.

I've no idea what the hell 'peak lesbian' is supposed to refer to, but I'm way past Peak Chegg, tbh.

Fairenuff · 13/11/2018 00:24

If we can say 'peak trans' why can't we say 'peak Muslim' or ' peak lesbian'?

Because Muslim people and lesbian people are not trying to infringe on womens rights in the uk.

Terrorists are but you do really want to align transpeople with terrorists? I really don't get your point unless you are just against Islam for some reason?

AornisHades · 13/11/2018 00:22

I think we can say peak fundamentalist.

FloralBunting · 13/11/2018 00:20

Yeah, it's not, but merrily making the association in your comparison between Muslims and blowing people up is not critiquing a religion, it's making a fairly overt insinuation that being Muslim is obviously connected to being a murderer.

Shit, I thought this thread was out of place and not the best thought through post ever put on FWR, but your contributions have made me feel very warm and welcoming to even the most convinced woman pushing the trans-narrative.

ScottCheggJnr · 13/11/2018 00:19

If we can say 'peak trans' why can't we say 'peak Muslim' or ' peak lesbian'?

ScottCheggJnr · 13/11/2018 00:18

I'm just wondering why you think it's appropriate to ask a question about a bombing of a GC event when a) bomb threats have already been made to GC events and b) a number of Muslim women who have been part of the most recent GC campaign have been horrified at the consequences of certain proposals.

And this is quite frankly rather disingenuous.

My point (as I'm sure you understand, even if you're unwilling to acknowledge it) is that many people on here seem unwilling to condemn a religion which is associated with subjugation of women and horrific acts of violence, but are all too happy to condemn a demographic who want (rightly or wrongly) to share your changing room.

Fairenuff · 13/11/2018 00:14

You are all over the place with your theories there Scott

First of all could you provide the source to back up this statement you made: half of British Muslims think homosexuality should be illegal and 40% support Sharia law

And secondly:

most terror attacks are undertaken by Muslims

I mean, can you imagine the reaction if a TRA detonated a bomb at a GC event, killing several dozen 'terfs?

I'll just leave this here for you to peruse at your leisure

ScottCheggJnr · 13/11/2018 00:13

Islamaphobic?

That sounds like the equivalent of the 'transphobic' accusations we hear so frequently on here, tbh.

And I've never understood why the criticism of certain (but not other) religions is so frowned upon anyhow. Outside of racism (an entirely separate but often coexisting factor) it shouldn't be prohibited to criticise any religion.

FloralBunting · 13/11/2018 00:05

I'm just wondering why you think it's appropriate to ask a question about a bombing of a GC event when a) bomb threats have already been made to GC events and b) a number of Muslim women who have been part of the most recent GC campaign have been horrified at the consequences of certain proposals.

If I'm 'offended' it's because yet again, a bloke with an opinion thinks he can wave the big old thing around and make stupid, erroneous comparisons that just come across as arrogant and, tbh, pretty bloody islamophobic too.
