Pretty much backs up what Trevor Philips was saying last month

Mr spock, that great bastion of logic, stated that

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one"

That's needs not wants

And yes, Mr Spock is a fictional character but there's far more truth in that statement than there is in the fictional statement that someone can change biological sex.

BouncingOn · 10/11/2018 09:27

Great article which I've duly shared via WhatsApp.

sackrifice · 10/11/2018 09:20

F4 - you are not the thread/forum police.

Women as far as I can see are still allowed to comment on the law, potential changes that may affect them, and to discuss published articles.

Instead of the emotional blackmail, if you have a case for why men should be considered no threat to women when they call themselves women, please share it.

It is not that trans people are a threat, it that men as a class are, and the act of calling themselves women does not remove that threat. If you have evidence to the contrary, please share it.

Callmejudith · 10/11/2018 09:19

Brilliant article

LemonJello · 10/11/2018 09:17

Men are being portrayed as a danger to women.

You can think that’s a disgrace all you want.

Feminist4 · 10/11/2018 09:10

Trans women matter too and they are being put in danger by your arguments. They are being portrayed as a danger to society and it’s s disgrace.

MrsWinkly · 10/11/2018 09:07

Janice is great.
Only this morning another predictable "a feminist ate my hamster" type thread was deleted. Amazing what we're supposedly responsible for.

It's about safeguarding women, children and our spaces from male predators (however they present) and I'll keep on saying it. It's naive at best to assume predatory men will not capitalise on GRA changes. Women and children matter.

LemonJello · 10/11/2018 09:04

people seem to be able to see the cheeky fuckery in depriving a BAME person of a grant by pretending to be one, but can't see it when it's a man depriving a woman of a place on the Jo Cox Women in Leadership programme

Totally this.

GoldenWonderwall · 10/11/2018 09:02

Great article thanks for sharing op. I thought this was never going to happen but here we are, discussing transrace and transage.

FermatsTheorem · 10/11/2018 09:01

As I said apropos of trans race on another thread, the first men I saw speaking strongly against self ID and in favour of GC feminism were African American - precisely because Jenner hit the headlines at the same time as Dolzeal, so that the black community immediately connected the dots and saw the whole thing for the appalling act of appropriation it was.

AngryAttackKittens · 10/11/2018 09:01

I agree with the Dutch guy on one thing, which is that some people in their late 60s are more than able to keep working, and should therefore be able to if they want to. Much like with trans people, though, society should be able to figure out a way to make that possible without pretending that they're actually a different age/sex. It's the being forced to lie that most people object to, along with the raging sense of entitlement displayed by some individuals.

Hoppinggreen · 10/11/2018 08:59

Feminist please report any Transphobia you see on this thread and it will be removed
Actual facts won’t be though

TrashyTerf · 10/11/2018 08:58

Another excellent article from Janice

Feminist4 · 10/11/2018 08:57

Worldparty, who are you to know? You appear neither to have experienced being transgender nor to be a geneticist or biologist with knowledge of this. Just another person spouting their own narrow view of the world.

LikeDust · 10/11/2018 08:55

It's funny, in that piece I saw just a glimmer of why people are attracted to the idea of making up stuff as you go along as opposed to having a better grasp of reality and one's place in it.

If you are denied a mortgage because it is presumed you'll die/become unable to earn before you can pay it back - it would be quite a blow if you strongly believed you had loads more energy to give, life to live and were determined to bop until you drop.

AngryAttackKittens · 10/11/2018 08:54

Can I suggest that one rebuttal to the attempts at derailment via emotional manipulation per thread is enough? Rewarding bad behavior with attention tends to encourage it to continue (as Bunbury outlined in her classic tome "Manipulative people and how to avoid them").

WorldParty · 10/11/2018 08:54

F4 perhaps you should have been honest that it is not possible to change sex and encouraged your child to accept the body they are born with whilst presenting in any way they wish
You can't change reality or the world for your child nor can you request others to lie for you

HandsOffMyRights · 10/11/2018 08:53

Thanks for the share.
This case highlights the hypocrisy of it all.
We could just keep going with this bull.

I could self ID as a man to get paid more.
Maybe I could identify as 18 to gain a young person's rail card

Apart from the ridiculousness of self identity being passed as law, are courts, employers, police, hospitals, councils really geared up for the litigation that comes their way?

I'd like to see Posie's next stunt as claiming she is a pensioner to collect a state pension. Where will the madness end?

Feminist4 · 10/11/2018 08:50

It is very hipocriticsl to talk about harm to women when many on this board incite transphobia. As for white people identifying as black people, well sometimes it is justified ...www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/nov/10/white-parents-african-ancestry-anthony-ekundayo-lennon

Needmoresleep · 10/11/2018 08:44

A background piece on the black actor dailym.ai/2PTnjxm with the Mail seemingly leaving it for their readers to come to a view.

OP, thanks for the share token. A broader debate on what is Self-ID is useful.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 10/11/2018 08:43

That's a really good article, and hopefully it will get some people to actually do some critical thinking.

heresyandwitchcraft · 10/11/2018 08:40

Another phenomenal piece by Janice Turner Star
Thank you to her, and thanks to TimeLady for the very kind share.

LittleLebowski · 10/11/2018 08:38

Thanks for sharing TimeLady I cannot understand how people can say that self-identification of your race or, in the case of Emile Ratelband, your age is different to self-identification of your sex. Janice sums it up perfectly.

Deliriumoftheendless · 10/11/2018 08:34

No one should turn a blind eye to the harm (actual physical and mental) that is being done to girls and women due to the modern trans narrative just because it’s upsetting to an individual.

I imagine my friends sons feel pretty shit when people talk about rapists and predators who are male like them, but they don’t demand femisnists shut up about women’s rights because their boys are decent people.

My partner was questioned by the police years ago because a rapist ran away and escaped via his back garden. Luckily he didn’t resemble the actual guy so it was all pretty straight forward. But y’know, how DARE the police hurt his feelings just because he also happened to be a man. As he has never said.
