Alabanza retweeted these reviews:

BURGERZ by @travisalabanza was an absolutely phenomenal piece of work. So intricately written with such an important message, perfectly woven into a performance that felt both fierce and tender - all whilst deeply rooted in authenticity. Oh and the direction? Sublime 👌🏾

I saw the matinee of #Burgerz by @travisalabanza yesterday and it feels so special to have been there. Part emotional release, part humorous romp, part ritual - retelling and reclaiming of trauma - it was flawlessly managed and controlled. Hats off! Such strength and beauty 💜

Which is a shame as it appears to be very accurate (and entertaining) Enjoy Grin

Boggling at the pronoun thing. I can see why someone who identifies as female (in spite of biology) wants to called 'she'. But wanting to be called 'they'? Does this person identify as hermaphrodite or as multiple people?

HamiltonCork · 04/11/2018 21:53

It will be a cold day in hell Before I ever use the pronouns they/them.

BettyDuMonde · 04/11/2018 21:53

Oh! Oh! Can we collaborate and call our collective show

‘Piss, Pop, Taylor Swift, Fishnets’?

Grin
PutYourShirtOnMartin · 04/11/2018 21:46

I am an old punk

I will be doing a show called 'piss' about the bottle of piss that was once thrown at me as I threw myself about a dance floor to some shite band.

Datun · 04/11/2018 21:45

Travis identifies as they? But last I heard Travis was identifying as a 15-year-old girl for Halloween. Put the selfie on social media n all sorts.

That was right after their bestie, Alok, said that parents had no idea how knowing their little girls were, as they were 'kinky and deviant'.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 04/11/2018 21:12

I was not aware that I had to google each time

This^ Seriously MN, do we really have to research everybody's pronouns before we can post. Or do you really insist we just use the individual's name or the horribly clumsy singular "they".

Is MNHQ really saying we must not use sexed pronouns as is customary in the English language because they might be wrong?

And if we do use the wrong pronouns, what actual harm does it cause?

FFS this is more like 1984 every day

Sunday mods. Ever such

littlbrowndog · 04/11/2018 21:08

💪 fffsss
They them pffft

FFSFFSFFS · 04/11/2018 21:05

Hi Hebe - I was not aware that I had to google each time to check to make sure that I was being correctly submissive in making sure to refer to a man in the way he dictates.

But for sure - free speech to use common modes of speech - I've noted that this is not in accordance with mumsnet policy and will make sure to self censor myself.

BTW - just to keep you up to date - we have always been at war with Eurasia.

littlbrowndog · 04/11/2018 21:02

And I am never a folks. Ever

littlbrowndog · 04/11/2018 21:00

Lols hebe. All the lols
Confused and dazed here
😂😂

HebeMumsnet · 04/11/2018 20:57

Evening folks. Just for the avoidance of any confusion or offence here, we wanted to point out that Travis's Albanza's website says Travis's pronouns are 'they' and 'them'. If you could stick to using those or just Travis's name, that would be very helpful. Thank you!

AngryAttackKittens · 04/11/2018 20:23

we saw Travis again, posing for photos balanced on a skip

Classy!

FFSFFSFFS · 04/11/2018 20:13

This is the guy that kicked up a big hoohah about not being allowed in Top Shop women's changing rooms I think.

Which I think offers quite the insight into his empathy about the trauma of others.

I have had significantly worse things happen to me then a burger being thrown at me. Because I am a woman and for no other reason.

AnchorMum · 04/11/2018 19:55

Burgers smell of B.O.

From the reviews that Travis posted I'd expected it to be articulate, original, moving and politically astute.

Seems like it was actually a stinky pile of 3rd rate wankery.

SophoclesTheFox · 04/11/2018 19:30

The restaurant in the Oxo tower's not cheap, yeah?

Travis had an entourage, including a photographer. I wonder who picked up the bill?

When we left, and were walking back towards waterloo, we saw Travis again, posing for photos balanced on a skip. I’d had a few and my pelvic floor nearly wasn’t up that that sight Grin

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 04/11/2018 19:29

When I was a teenager I inadvertently annoyed a bloke by confidently disagreeing with one of his opinions, so he picked me up bodily and threw me into the sea

Nobody has considered the feelings of the burger in all this

Datun · 04/11/2018 19:16

When I was very thin and had pink hair someone shouted 'Swan Vesta' grin

🤣🤣🤣

Yes! Hurt like a fucker when you're walloped with an egg.

Travis is a classic attention seeker, the best thing to do entirely is ignore them. What would Travis have done if no-one in the oxo tower had batted an eveylid? Escalated in a desparate attempt to get all eyes on them obviously, can be quite funny

KatVonGulag · 04/11/2018 18:10

God Travis makes me laugh though. The oxo tower lunch story Grin

KatVonGulag · 04/11/2018 18:09

Eggs are really hard.
Someone chucked one at my mum in law (because why wouldn't you throw things at elderly women who are cheeky enough to walk the streets at night), and it really bruised her.
I could understand why John Prescott did that left hook.

Spits grim. That's happened to me too. Shudder

NothingOnTellyAgain · 04/11/2018 17:17

But I thought that all of the whole kerfuffle was about shy quiet timid people quietly going about their business in a barely noticable way?

(HAHAHAHAHHA)

Travis should NOT be gettign changing in topshop changing rooms where curtains are flimsy and girls at a particularly tricky stage of life are getting their kit off.

AngryAttackKittens · 04/11/2018 16:52

He/she/they about wrecked a very nice lunch I was having up the Oxo tower (snorfle) by flinging his/her/themself about the room hollering and capering in a purple suit, emerald cape and shoes. And Travis is not a dainty person.

Sometimes I wonder if being the specific type of genderspecial that Travis, Alok, etc are correlates with colourblindness.
