Transman kicked out of gay sauna

Seems a transman was asked to leave a male only sauna because he didn’t have a penis.

The sauna said they would have to approach the council to find out if their license would allow them to admit transmen.

Hope the clicky works. If it doesn’t I’ll post the link below.

Some very insightful people said a while ago that it’s only when this shit starts affecting men that they will start to speak out. Well it’s happening. And yes, it does seem to be a very homophobic movement, doesn’t it?

Destinysdaughter · 03/11/2018 06:38

Loved this comment from DataLounge:

“Vaginas don't belong in gay saunas any more than penises belong in lady's locker rooms.

I am sick to death of having to pretend to support this nonsense.

Biological sex is real. Sexual orientation is directly linked to bio sex and the genitals that come with it.

Most gay men had to spend a good chunk of their life justifying why we don't find female genitals sexually appealing. Same with lesbians and penises. And now we are being marginalised and being told our hard-fought sexual orientations are inherently bigoted.

I'm done. Call your "front hole" whatever you want. But gay men have a right not to be into what you have between your legs. And tell your MTF sisters the same about lesbians not wanting their "lady dicks."

You've squandered what support you could have had by transing kids and shaming the Ls and Gs.

Now fuck off.”

AngryAttackKittens · 03/11/2018 05:51

Sorry, Liz, muscly isn't really my thing. You thought everyone attracted to men was into that? Figures, what with the correlation between trans activism and dull sexist stereotypes.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 03/11/2018 02:54

My oh fucking my what are we doing to our kids?

FadingMint · 03/11/2018 02:37

How realistic is that photo, though? We are well aware that Caitlyn Jenner had expensive photos taken, with make-up and costumes, to portray CJ as female; but still, lots of us looked and said, "Bloke"."

Are you representing that truthfully?

foxyliz26 · 03/11/2018 02:19

Its all about size probably from the gay men we have known , and have had a couple of friends who were at Greenham Common with us years ago who are now men

am sure if you look about on the internet you find many F2M,s with dangly toilet parts , we have a couple of friends who went from our world to being gay men
heres just one , who I am sure ,any of our gay male friends or straight female friends wouldn't say no to

but of course you are now going to say no way !

If they had a spare one they’d be the centre of attention and they wouldn’t give that up for a anyone, let alone a stranger.

There is a man with two (functioning) penises and he is, apparently, quite popular. You can look him up, I won’t link to the articles because NSFW. So you’re quite right Aspie, and as always, spot on and funny.

Sorry. Derail. Smile

This peak-trans my gay friend earlier.

I told him about men in sports, he laughed(?)

I told him about men in female prions and he kept saying “golly gosh” (infuriating).

I told him about Pip Bunce and he sent me a meme of Caitlyn Jenner accepting her award. “Men do it better” (or similar)

I told him about vaginas wandering around the gay spa willy-nilly earlier and now this is very important and totally unacceptable.

Realising a trans man could be in the gloryhole at the gayspa made him physically react and was very shocked/disturbed at the thought. I pointed out his natural reaction would probably be deemed transphobic.

He then asked me to ring his local gayspa to masquerade as a trans man to ensure they say no to me (I haven’t done yet but might out of interest).

This gender/sex mix-up is so surreal. I am very grateful to those on these boards for my eyes being well and truly opened to the debate (and yes there definitely one to be had).

to me*

AGHHHH · 02/11/2018 18:30

@Electron1 Why are you talking me like this is a university lecture and I'm one of your students?

Electron1 · 02/11/2018 18:14

"A forum full of people with their head on straight! I approve. Pardon the pun."

You know humans have all types of neurodiversity, we deal with it, however forcing us all to act as a placebo in this particular neuro challenge is not on.

Reading Data Lounge on Juno Dawson I half want to applaud, and half feel really really angry. Gay men are allowed to say these things: no one calls them TERF or threatens to rape or murder them. No one tries to get Data Lounge down because it's full of "hate speech". There couldn't be a more perfect illustration that a deep-rooted misogyny is absolutely at the heart of transactivism.

misscockerspaniel · 02/11/2018 16:54

The comments on that Data Lounge site have made my day Smile
We are not on our own. It is great to read such straight talking on a topic that clearly alarms and affects the majority of people.

Haworthia · 02/11/2018 16:43

So many Data Lounge posts deserving of a round of applause.

Isn’t it quite something that men are allowed to speak so plainly on these issues?

Butterymuffin · 02/11/2018 16:13

Great comment from the data lounge thread:

Gay magazines and organizations should be putting out the message that being a man is not defined by behavior, that masculinity can embrace both the burly linebacker AND the glittery fashion designer, and that being a woman is not defined by behavior, that femininity can embrace both the shopaholic diva AND the no-nonsense trucker. That they are, instead, endorsing the regressive ideology that there can only be one type of man and one type of woman is astonishing and genuinely appalling.

Wish gay and feminist organisations would unite to promote this message.

VickyEadie · 02/11/2018 15:50

I see Shon avoids entirely the issue of whether or not gay men should be called transphobes if they don't want to have sex with a transman, however.

LikeDust · 02/11/2018 15:19

It's like paper, scissors stone!

AGHHHH · 02/11/2018 15:09

@LikeDust my straight friend was the one who chastised me, asking how it affected me or why I cared and was a condescending twat about it (ironic considering he mocks every other minority and jokes about all manner of people). Even after telling him I have often wanted to go to such saunas, and he knows I'm gay, he kept trying to shut me up Confused

LikeDust · 02/11/2018 14:52

Interesting about the pro-trans gay men being quiet about this.

So far being openly GC a lot of people avoid me/the topic - bar three people.

All three are gay men who went out of their way to chastise me (though opening with "I'm interested in why you see it this way" or "why are you interested in this?" passive-aggressiveness). I'd so love to be able to use this scenario to get back at the sanctimonious, woke misogynists.

Ereshkigal · 02/11/2018 13:43

Good point. But I've never once even seen them mentioned by TRAs.

BettyDuMonde · 02/11/2018 13:35

Their threads are modded, albeit less sensitively than ours - I think they remove personal attacks, repeat threads and known trolls.

The advertisers strike me as less easy to pressure than mumsnet’s - gay dating sites, rather than fish finger manufacturers!

Ereshkigal · 02/11/2018 13:27

Wonder if TRAs go after their advertisers?

BettyDuMonde · 02/11/2018 13:19

The Juno Dawson datalounge thread had me cackling for ages...

This is a reason anyone thinking of going down the trans route needs unbiased counselling (if there is such a thing, all counsellors are human and will have a view on this especially those working in trangender clinics) not just affirmation.
People need to think about who they view as their potential mates, realise that pool is much smaller if you are identifying as the opposite gender and look at the option of being gender non conforming but still identifying as their biological sex.
I would suspect a butch lesbian would have more potential mates than a transman looking for women.
There also needs to be more discussion of what practical difference being trans would make to their life rather than just being gender nonconforming.
I think young people are fed a load of overly optimistic sparkles and unicorns stuff about the trans lifestyle.
