Transman kicked out of gay sauna

Seems a transman was asked to leave a male only sauna because he didn’t have a penis.

The sauna said they would have to approach the council to find out if their license would allow them to admit transmen.

Hope the clicky works. If it doesn’t I’ll post the link below.

I’m sure I read a twitter post linked on here where haddock said something along the lines of gay saunas are important part of gay culture and should remain male only. Yet he seems to contradict himself on those other tweets. Did I imagine that post or has it disappeared??

Tbf transmen are much more likely to pass transwomen (most don’t pass) but the small hands and dainty feet often give the game away
Yes and no, I think. Transmen are only likely to pass because first assumptions are beard=male and many of them seem to have one. Also nobody really gives short unattractive men more than a passing glance. Whereas women (and also transwomen) are looked at more intently by everyone (ie not just the male gaze).
Of course people look most intently at those people they are considering bumping uglies with; this must be quite a shock if one has interpreted polite disinterest by strangers on the street as passing up until then.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 03/11/2018 19:15

I couldn’t be with a trans person and I find women and men pleasing to look at. Never actually been with a woman and I don’t have a strong want to, but I can find them attractive and can appreciate their looks if they take my fancy. But a trans person? No, my mind will always be telling me that something isn’t quite right and I couldn’t get past it. Then there is the huge issue of being sterile. I want kids (I have two) and I want my own kids made with my own partner, if you fall for someone thinking you can have kids and then for whatever reason you can’t, that’s very different than getting with someone knowing you can never have children, yet funnily enough when I’ve mentioned wanting kids they just throw at you that not everyone is fertile. Which yeah, they are right but most only find out when they are trying and therefore make decisions on how to move on as loving partners, I don’t think many people would want to be with someone if kids was a big thing and they knew they couldn’t. In fact, there is never an issue with discrimination when it comes to sex, it’s one thing I believe that all discrimination is ok wether it be based on race, sex or even looks. Your vagina or penis is yours to control, no one else gets to tell you what to do with it. But trans people think they can (some not all).

Social media has trained people to believe that everyone has an amazing personality. Everyone is stunning, brave and special. Nobody can comprehend that people might not want them and might think they're boring, ugly or undesirable.

Everyone is a beautiful, rainbow coloured, glittery unicorn who scatters stars behind them everywhere they prance.

Apart from they're not, and the more narcissistic a person becomes, the more they hate themselves and hate others as well.

Anyway, most people have abit of a snog and wandering hands when fully clothed before shagging. It’s at this stage that the lack of a cock would be discovered.

I don’t think your average 14/15/16 yr old is mature enough to realise that you can’t force people into fancying you. An amazing personality just isn’t enough.

HamiltonCork · 03/11/2018 18:32

*inate not instead (must learn to proof read)

Turph · 03/11/2018 18:32

The problem is the advertising copy never mentions the tiny dating pool...it's all rainbow families and definitely passing

HamiltonCork · 03/11/2018 18:31

I think that’s it really - transmen and transwomen are going to have to learn to copy with a massively reduced dating pool.

No amount of whining on twitter will change the fundamental fact that most people won’t fancy you as you can’t change people’s instead sexuality and no amount of invading their spaces will change that.

Turph · 03/11/2018 18:30

That trans pride video was tragic. It's short, edited, has sound over the live recorded sound and they still managed to make the day look utterly shite.
They should stick to living online and only revealing themselves in airbrushed photos at sympathetic angles. Real life does not suit them, even in Brighton Grin

Vixxxy · 03/11/2018 18:30

Yeps am sur3 wee Owen Jones wouldn’t date a trans man either

Of course not, infact I am sure he said it was homophobic to ask him this, despite him spending a while berating lesbians for turning down the bepenised, which was what led to the question being asked!

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 03/11/2018 18:25

They've not been on any mass conversion campaigns

BIL said he was pleased to hear that ds1 wasnt an evangelical gay, think he was a bit worried about him trotting round converting innocent men

But BIL is a twat to be fair

LangCleg · 03/11/2018 18:21

Genitals matter because we use them to shag with.

Indeed!

Lesbians and gay men have managed to cope with a reduced dating pool since forever. They've not been on any mass conversion campaigns.

Ho hum. That's what you get when you've got the first "social justice" movement dominated largely by middle-aged, middle class, economically successful heterosexual men.

Predictable, much?!

littlbrowndog · 03/11/2018 17:43

And I would not date a trans man ever

littlbrowndog · 03/11/2018 17:43

Yeps am sur3 wee Owen Jones wouldn’t date a trans man either
Why would he

AspieAndProud · 03/11/2018 17:42

TRAs have had the opposite effect of making us consider them as sexual partners. Ten years ago the only ‘transwoman’ most people had heard of was Hailey on Coronation Street: we weren’t familiar with the Cluster B personality types that dominate the movement today.

HamiltonCork · 03/11/2018 17:22

Yes. If I was into vulvas I’d date women because it sounds a heck of a lot less complicated than dating a transman.

SnuggyBuggy · 03/11/2018 17:17

And likewise if I was into vulvas I'd be dating women.

HamiltonCork · 03/11/2018 16:38

I agree with 2rebecca.

There isn’t a shortage of men in this planet - there are over 3.5 billion of them. Why would I want a man without a cock?

I don’t find vulvas a turn on whatsoever, in fact quite the opposite. And when I was dating I was planning on the whole motherhood thing. There’s not really much in the deal for a heterosexual woman to date/shag/fall in love with a trans man.

2rebecca · 03/11/2018 16:04

There is also the ignored by TRAs fact of a trans man not producing sperm. As a largely heterosexual woman why when I was young would I have chosen a female who wants to look like a bloke but who couldn't father children? It's not as though there is a shortage of men.
Also the psychopathology of trans people which is often exaggerated for sympathy and point scoring is a turn off when choosing a partner. Few people want to live with a drama queen. Sanity, stability and calmness are much more desirable attributes b

selfidentifyinggiraffe · 03/11/2018 12:44

The trans pride video...

Naomi Hersi was very sad... but how many black trans lives have been taken via murder this year???

One is obviously too many but is there a high rate of black trans people being murdered? It's a race issue too I guess

BettyDuMonde · 03/11/2018 11:57

But you can only turn the @ function off or on though, so you have to choose all (including threads you are already ‘on’) or nothing (the unseen threads that others are alerting you to).

Anyway, bringing this thread back on track, as a straight woman, I am attracted to both male bodies AND a certain amount of ‘performed masculinity’, so the likelihood of finding a trans person of any body type/ gender identity combo is very unlikely.

Also, Vivienne Westwood has featured quite a lot of cock-emblem clothes and accessories including ‘‘flying dicks’ (winged penises) over the years. I like them.

Electron1 · 03/11/2018 11:45

You know humans have all types of neurodiversity, we deal with it, however forcing us all to act as a placebo in this particular neuro challenge is not on.

To clarify my statement, I consider the insistence that we act as if males are female and females are male to be a form of placebo treatment. The claim that it makes people feel better even though there is no therapeutic value is a form of coercion and control. I know many transsexuals who do not need this non treatment to be content with their neurodiversity and so discount this theory and justification.

This is not aimed at anyone, it's my view.

I don't think its rude to tag anyone, however I didn't tag anyone.

FloralBunting · 03/11/2018 11:44

Orchid, agreed. The quirks of forum specific communication would be worth a study once someone has got done with all the important stuff in their life! :)

LassWiADelicateAir · 03/11/2018 11:44

On this board we tend to bold and not @ people, just because the resulting email notifications can get tedious - if we want to draw a particular person’s attention to a thread they aren’t on, we might @ them (and apologise )

Or one could just adjust one's settings to avoid the unwanted notifications. It is extremely high-handed to dictate that a poster making use of a feature provided by the site administration is flouting an unwritten convention.

As for the suggestion that it is only when a poster's name is used that a particular poster is being referred to, I've often made what were intended to be general remarks and been challenged by posters who claim it was all about them.

OrchidInTheSun · 03/11/2018 11:41

It amuses me greatly that it took MN about 10 years to introduce tagging other posters and MNers immediately decided it was the height of rudeness to actually use it

Anyway - v interesting thread all
