Famous undeclared GC people?

Who do you think might be gender critical on the quiet? David Baddiel has just posted something about polyamory on a twitter thread about the doxxing of a GC uni professor. I think he must see this is all Pomo nonsense. Obviously we have Graham Linehan who’s been a compete star.

But are so many other intelligent, critically thinking famous people out there, especially the comedians, there must surely be some who are desperate to call out TRA bullshit. Where are they all hiding?

Emma Watson was a disappointment but I did suspect her feminism is more of a ‘brand’ than a critically thought out belief As soon as she started her He for She campaign I knew she had no real understanding of feminism: apparently the only way we can be heard is by having men speak on our behalf. Thanks Emma, what a friend to women you truly are.

Because even intelligent men can't/won't empathise with women. We had James O'Brien mocking one of his female callers for raising her concerns about GRA (honestly can't stand him, as bad as Owen Jones in my view). When it comes down to it, they don't want to think about how women have to constantly monitor their own safety, it depresses them, the poor poor boys.

How do they do it? Fear in the majority about being labelled bigots?

I've posted a link to this before, but this is what happened with another issue when people, in this case, were afraid of being labelled 'homophobic'.

www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/10653950/We-on-the-Left-lacked-the-courage-to-be-branded-homophobic-so-we-just-ignored-it.-I-wish-I-hadnt.html

The author describes herself: I was a young radical, daft as a brush

She, and many others, were too scared of the negative labelling to speak out, so they remained silent.

I also had hopes for Emma Watson but they were quickly dashed when she tweeted in support of Mermaids.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 27/10/2018 12:12

JK Rowling for sure. I wish she'd actually bloody say something rather than mindlessly liking GC tweets.

ProfessionalBarren · 27/10/2018 12:10

I agree with all of these. The fear is palpable, as is a desire to be ‘kind’ to people. I guess you just have to give no fucks at all like Ricky Gervais. I really wish JK Rowling would just say fuck it and post a tweet letting it all out Grin

I think most comedians, if not performatively woke, must be, because transgender ideology and politics is absurd.

noeffingidea · 27/10/2018 12:06

Ricky Gervais. He tweeted sarcastically about the rapist Karen White and the cheater Rachel Mckinnon.

It really puzzles me how an ideological flat earth equivalent minority can silence huge numbers of people - not just celebs but the so-called silent majority.

How do they do it? Fear in the majority about being labelled bigots? So what? If you have the courage of your convictions what does it matter? It's just a word. If you have logic and science on your side why does it matter?

You could equally call this minority bigots for their knee-jerk reactions for refusing to debate or accept they may be wrong.

It's a technique that was used to silence debate about immigration - people's genuine concerns dismissed as bigotry until even the woke realised that was a debate to be had.

Will there be the same tipping point about self-ID I wonder?

I can't be the only person who couldn't care less about being called a bigot on the self-ID issue. I really cannot understand why people give a toss about being called a silly name. Maybe it's because I am elderly and have seen it all before. I don't know. I remain puzzled.

I'm pretty sure Robert Webb is GC but reluctant to dip his toes in, because of the TA piranhas.

rightreckoner · 27/10/2018 11:57

I saw that David Baddiel tweet. He gets there via David Aaronovitch and concern about the Labour party’s antisemitism. He can think. I’m sure he knows what’s going on here but like David Aaronovitch he says next to nothing.

Jane Garvey knows but says nothing having seen what happened to Jenni Murray. Im pretty sure she’s GC - the clue is that her twitter feed says nothing whatsoever. If she was in the TR camp she’d have all sorts of handmaiden comments on there and would have lots of favourable gush from other non thinkers. So I take silence to mean GC but scared.

JK Rowling is almost certainly GC but has stayed away.
