Another Woman Hounded Out of Employment...

A twitter account called @thewhitepube, run by two intensely irritating very young women, has been targetting a woman called Nina Edge for alleged 'transphobia', which has apparently culminated in her being sacked.

Excuse me WHO is running the @welshstreets account and retweeting bad terf bullshit logic?

I will loudly bang this drum tomorrow when everyone’s awake 😊 @edge_nina @welshstreets pls let me know in the meantime!! Sweet dreams Xxxxx

It appear the Welsh Streets account has become the soapbox for artist @edge_nina (who was recently commissioned to do the winter garden) to spout transphobia, does that represent the view of all involved in the Welsh Streets effort?

I understand why people followed the account in the past (because their housing activism has been good for Liverpool) but I would urge everyone to unfollow in the meantime because you are just putting your trans followers and audiences at arms length in the meantime.

I like the reference to Mumsnet Demon.

Apt for Halloween. Time for us to get out Trick or Treeting.

Bonions · 31/10/2018 18:49

They’re still hounding

They don't think they're getting a pasting though, they just keep yelling "Obey" "Do what you're told" "TWAW" Unfortunately they're being shown up as very hard of thinking :(

KatVonGulag · 31/10/2018 06:56

Oh I bet he has resisters

I'm imagining him lalalaing with his fingers in his ears.

Also, WhitePube, glad those tossers are getting a pasting on Twitter.

Bullies the lot of them.

LiverpoolReSisters · 31/10/2018 06:48

Paul has blocked all the gender critical people on that thread.

SunsetBeetch · 31/10/2018 01:00

So many connections, HandsOffMyRights . We're going to need a HUGE diagram.

“Trans women are NOT “”” male bodied “””. Any assertion of this IS TRANSPHOBIA. THIS IS VERY BASIC. I CANT BELIEVE SOME OF U DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS.”

I thought the whole point was that TW had male bodies? How else does ‘born into tne wrong body work?’. Surely if the had female bodies they would be ‘cis’ (sic) not trans?

LemonJello · 30/10/2018 23:11

Oh yes. The wheels have come off this now 😂

Their tweets are going bananas as they double down. Apparently this is the hill they will die on.

RiverTam · 30/10/2018 22:38

Looking at the White Pube Twitter they are floundering around now. They’ve been publicly slapped in the face with a wet kipper and no mistake. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer pair.

HandsOffMyRights · 30/10/2018 22:32

FYI, some trans trivia:
MN favourite non binary Teddy Lord used to work at LJMU.

Excellent news and I'm pleased that things are working as they should at LJMU. I do wish they would issue a proactive statement about this, but I'm very glad they've stood up to this bullying nevertheless.

Datun · 30/10/2018 17:23

Excellent. People are finally waking up to what's behind the 'I stand up for trans rights' mantra.

hackmum · 30/10/2018 17:11

Very good news, and also great to see the education editor of the Times making such a robust statement.

LiverpoolReSisters · 30/10/2018 16:51

Wonderful news. So glad to see sanity has prevailed here.

Oh cross posts there, Venus

The Education Editor of the Times has tweeted that Nina Edge is alive and teaching at LJMU and has the University's full support.

It seems quite likely that Nina Edge has just left, for her own reasons or normal employment reasons, and the commenters have claimed this as a 'victory' for their own reasons.

To say 'noone goes to LJMU expecting to run across a terf' seems quite carefully worded, given that they apparently aren't at LJMU. Are they presenting this as some sort of art project of their own?

I do sometimes feel there should be a name for this type of art, along the lines of 'outsider art'. 'Tiresome Art' perhaps?

arranfan · 30/10/2018 16:03

TRAs are indulged, their transgression and criminal activities ignored.

It feels very like, "Boys will be boys" accompanied by an indulgent smile and eye-roll. The more so if they're privileged vandals (shades of Bullingdon or the notorious scions of celebrities). If they're privileged, more-oppressed-than-thou, boys then the reasons for indulgence just seem to reduce the vandalism, smoke flares etc. to no more than youthful high jinks.

I can't shake off the feeling that young people with verified backgrounds of socio-economic deprivation were jailed for lesser offences during the riots of 2011.

theOtherPamAyres · 30/10/2018 15:56

The Welsh Street vandalism, and the vandalism that occurred at the Egyptian House in Plymouth before a WPUK meeting, are significant marker posts. It takes the 'clashes' to another level when buildings and communities come under fire because of their association with gender sceptics.

When the reaction from MPs and councillors is 'meh, nothing to see here' - and when the likes of the BBC claim that both sides are involved in 'clashes' - then TRAs are indulged, their transgression and criminal activities ignored.

It's about time that transactivism - the silencing, intimidation, false reports to the police, false reports to employers, the damage, the assaults, bomb threats etc - was taken seriously and holistically.

Shows how much respect the Councillor has for the people of the Welsh Streets!

LOL - Nina Edge gets reported for an opinion which differs from TRAs, a Councillor tweets an opinion which trashes the work and pride of a whole community....I wonder if any of those residents will report him to his party?

A Labour politician, shrugging off the defacing of an artwork at the gateway to a disadvantages, working class community.

His moral compass is defunct.

RiverTam · 30/10/2018 14:12

one of those nasty pieces of work has commented on the Artists Against Transphobia page on FB and my heart started pounding as soon as I saw her name. She is such a spiteful, nasty little cunt, and I don't use that word at all but if I'm going to it'll be about shits like her.

theOtherPamAyres · 30/10/2018 13:53

The remark from the councillor is not only irresponsible, but will embolden vandals.

If you cannot condemn acts of criminal damage for whatever reason and if you shrug your shoulders and say 'what's the fuss?', then your moral compass needs fixing.

How much damage needs to happen before the councillor thinks it's wrong and criminal?
