I’ve hit peak trans!

Thanks, ‘Dr’ Rachel McKinnon.

What made you hit peak trans, and why? Apologies if this has been done to death - new to this topic.

Do you think Rachel realised her agenda has spectacularly backfired and peak transing thousands? For the first time in my life I, a staunch labour voter, feel I have to rethink my political leanings and can no longer support a party that are choosing to collide in misogyny and support self ID.

Three examples. Crikey. Jess is alleged to have flashed. So what. You use individual examples to shame the majority. It isn’t ethical behaviour. I’m sure we can find similarly poor behaviour from some women. You just choose not to look for it.

Noqont · 26/10/2018 00:09

^No trans woman is going to swing their penis st your daughter. I can assure you they keep it firmly hidden. They hate their penises.

Some might hate their penises. But plenty really don't. So you're not in a position to speak for every transwoman are you.

gendercritter · 26/10/2018 00:07

Drizzled wombat. No trans woman is going to swing their penis st your daughter. I can assure you they keep it firmly hidden. They hate their penises.

Yes but you're talking about people with severe gender dysphoria. Not the many, many men who are trans because they have a fetish. You din't even have to spend five minutes searching to find them everywhere online. They exist. Go on twitter and search #girlslikeus and tell me trans women are hiding their penises and keeping it hidden. Because you might as well be saying Donald Trump is shy and bashful and too nervous to approach women.

FermatsTheorem · 26/10/2018 00:05

"They hate their penises"

Item: Tara Hudson, subject of a campaign and petition to be moved to a women's prison. Boasts on Tara's adultwork page about their "7 inch surprise."

Item: Daniele Muscato, tweeting (on International women's day no less) inviting dissenting women to "suck my lady dick."

Item: NUS Jess and Jess's social media page filled with images of Jess's erect penis, plus information about where they liked to wank (including bus shelters, of all bizarre places...)

Not seeing much penis hatred here.

Avegemitesandwich · 26/10/2018 00:05

The word woman is the giveaway. They are trans women.

What does the 'trans' bit mean then?

FadingMint · 26/10/2018 00:04

Nevertheless: trans women? They are men. This is a fact.

Feminist4 · 26/10/2018 00:04

I don't think Jess Bradley got that memo.

FermatsTheorem · 26/10/2018 00:02

Transwomen are transwomen, and that's fine. I support them in presenting however they want.

They don't get to go into women's changing rooms, compete in women's sport, be sent to women's prisons - because they are biologically male.

You can believe your flat-earth science-denying quasi-religious mantra that "transwomen are women" all you want - your belief in it does not make it true, nor does it make the rest of us obliged to believe it too, nor does it mean the world should be re-arranged to accommodate your quasi-religious belief.

Avegemitesandwich · 26/10/2018 00:02

No it’s not ok to call trans women men

But that's what they are. What do you think the 'trans' prefix signifies? If they weren't men they wouldn't be transwomen they would just be, um, women.

Feminist4 · 26/10/2018 00:02

Drizzled wombat. No trans woman is going to swing their penis st your daughter. I can assure you they keep it firmly hidden. They hate their penises.

No it’s not ok to call trans women men

JellySlice · 25/10/2018 23:58

It is OK to write about transwomen being men because they are men. (Otherwise they wouldn't be transwomen.)

DrizzledWombat · 25/10/2018 23:57

Drizzled wombat, so you have decided that trans people can be excluded because the women here have made you realise that some men will dress up as women and terrorise girls. And that is logical.

Sounds about right, yes.

It doesn't even have to be intentional terrorism. If I remember correctly, the proposition that swung it for me was my hypothetical teenage daughter getting changed at the gym and turning round to see a ladycock waving around next to her. The consideration that said ladycock may be accompanied by a leer and a wandering eye sealed the deal. As I imagine it has for a lot of other previously trans-friendly people.

FadingMint · 25/10/2018 23:55

They're men. Can't get away from that fact. They're men.

Budgieinaberet · 25/10/2018 23:53

Excluded from fucking what ?

Karen White
Davina Ayrton
Jessica Winfield
Lisa Hauxwell

How long a list do you want?

Feminist4 · 25/10/2018 23:47

Drizzled wombat, so you have decided that trans people can be excluded because the women here have made you realise that some men will dress up as women and terrorise girls. And that is logical. It is ok to write the odious comments about trans women being men not women because of 100 years of fighting for rights (not fought for by these women) which doesn’t even make sense. The whole argument is predicated on the idea that men will dress up as women and that will make it easier to attack them.

And Graham Linehan, how could I forget him! I love him!

AncientLights · 25/10/2018 23:42

Yes Drizzled: lots of use come from that stance, always having been left of centre, felt we were always on the side of the angels. So we, naively as we now know, just supported trans people thinking how beleaguered and victimised they were. Until we started to read about it and realised how we were being played.

FermatsTheorem · 25/10/2018 23:42

Drizzled I think we all started where you've started from.

I remember as a grad student many moons ago thinking Germaine Greer was being horrible for campaigning against Rachel Padman's fellowship at Newnham (this would be early 90s). Oh how wrong I was (sorry Germaine, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa).

I've seen people on here say "I signed the petition to allow Tara Hudson to be moved to a women's prison, then discovered about Tara still being in possession of a 7 inch surprise..."

Most of us are live-and-let-live liberal people - until it dawns on us that the transactivists are not live-and-let-live people, they are invade-your-space-and-take-away-your-rights people.

Unicyclethief · 25/10/2018 23:41

For very different reasons: Julie, Miranda, Posie, Germaine, Ash, Caitlin, Dr. Harrop, Rachel D. Rachel M, Ash again, Dr, Harrop some more. And a whole host of others on twitter and on here!

AncientLights · 25/10/2018 23:40

Why do they not get how totally offensive and objectionable it is to have an uninvited cock in your line of vision? The only cocks I want to see are ones I have expressly given permission to be there. Otherwise it's threatening. I do wonder how long it will take for women to turn violent towards such men, who will clearly not expect it, as we're all supposed to be such naice ladies and just put up with crap.
