I’ve hit peak trans!

Thanks, ‘Dr’ Rachel McKinnon.

What made you hit peak trans, and why? Apologies if this has been done to death - new to this topic.

Do you think Rachel realised her agenda has spectacularly backfired and peak transing thousands? For the first time in my life I, a staunch labour voter, feel I have to rethink my political leanings and can no longer support a party that are choosing to collide in misogyny and support self ID.

Yes, I think Feminist4 is doing a marvellous job of exposing the absolute misogyny of transactivist ideology.

Saying that it’s transphobic for a teenage girl not to want to have to shower next to an adolescent male who’s looking at her and wanking is a phenomenal own goal.

I wonder what sort of person you have to be not to realise that’s not going to be well received on what is at root a parenting site.

(Read that bit earlier and just scrolling back now, can’t find it - was it deleted?)

ItsalmostSummer · 26/10/2018 14:22

Allstars yes I agree. It’s more than someone with the belief and need to dress as a woman, and gender dysphoria, but what is happening through this movement to change our speak, body parts, and the big push back on who we are as natural born women, that gets to me too. There is a bigger picture at play and I wonder if anyone has figured it out yet ....

TimeLady · 26/10/2018 13:03

I welcome input from the likes of F4, as it's likely to peak trans a few more lurkers.

Allstarspookster · 26/10/2018 12:36

Deathgrip summed it up for me. I have zero concern about a genuine trans woman with gender dysphoria being in the public loo next to me. I just wouldn't think twice about it if I even realised that they are TW. What concerns me hugely is the TRA internet and RL terrorism campaign against anyone and everyone who cannot or refuses to see the emperors new clothes.

FermatsTheorem · 26/10/2018 12:28

AAK, I fear we're both being terfy - we have uncritically used the word breastfeeding instead of the correct word which is of course chestfeeding Wink

GulagsMyArse · 26/10/2018 12:18

AngryAttackKittens

I mean, that's a bit terfy, isn't it? Asking for breastfeeding advice on a site with "mum" in the name? It's as if you were implying that dads can't breastfeed too...

Peak trans - seeing the argument from trans activists that transwomen are far superior candidates for Women's Officer roles in political parties, councils and student unions, because trans women have experience of being a woman and being a trans woman

Well, both TS Elliot (Wasteland) and Genesis's song based on it refer to Tiresias as a man, despite Tiresias' 'crossing of the poles' because, obviously the superior status must pre-dominate and triumph.

hellandhairnets · 26/10/2018 11:45

A majority of women on these boards are trying to infiltrate Mumsnet and spread a horrid anti-trans message.

What a bizarre comment. And completely false. No surprise there.

So you choose to make a silly false accusation instead of commenting re: the Stonewall trans umbrella (why don't you look it up and check for yourself?) and how it includes both and thus blurs the difference between transsexuals and cross-dressers. To which you have no answer, presumably. Does not compute.

It really just shows how far people have to go to try to make their beliefs make sense to themselves. Cognitive dissonance in action. It's quite astonishing to watch.

Peak trans - seeing the argument from trans activists that transwomen are far superior candidates for Women's Officer roles in political parties, councils and student unions, because trans women have experience of being a woman and being a trans woman, while plain old women fall short. Shall we get our coats?

FermatsTheorem · 26/10/2018 09:43

Ah when I joined MN all those years ago as a sleep deprived new mum with PND in desperate need of breast feeding advice, I was subconsciously infiltrating the site with a view to spreading anti someone or other bigotry discussing feminism years later. Got it.

LemonJello · 26/10/2018 09:43

F4 thinks that being a rape counsellor is a right that transwomen should have, irrespective of whether it causes rape victims further distress to be counselled by someone male.

Deathgrip · 26/10/2018 09:43

F4 if a man who genuinely identifies as a man says “I am a woman”, at what point in that sentence does the danger he poses to women decrease? Is it the word woman that does it? And by what mechanism?

AngryAttackKittens · 26/10/2018 09:43

Also, if it's not too much trouble could the radicalization portal drop me off somewhere sunny? I was thinking maybe Bali, but am open to suggestions since it would be easier for the portal to send us all to the same location at once.

Gncq · 26/10/2018 09:43

How come there is a thread started on a trans woman who retaliated violently... but not on male violence (that is not transgender) in the UK?

Male violence is a frequent topic on these boards. Funnily enough we also categorise violence comitted by transwomen as "male violence" seeing as they are male.

If we posted here about every occurrence of male violence against women we wouldn't have time to do anything else.

Deathgrip · 26/10/2018 09:42

If these cross- dressing rapists exist, the police need to get on to them.

Because the police are so good at catching and prosecuting rapists? Only 6% of rape cases (not rapes, rape cases) end in a conviction.

And I would have thought that dealing with it after women have been raped is a bit late, don’t you?

You’re stuck in a mindset that trans women are all severely dysphoric - that’s not even close to reality. You would be called “truscum” by TRAs for saying this. You’re now the transphobe. Do you get it yet? However much you support and capitulate, they ask for more. I used to say the same sort of things you’re saying.

The other day a TRA on Facebook said that trans women totally understand what it’s like to be cis women, because there are “very few issues pertaining directly to having a womb and ovaries”. Very few issues, aside from a long list of under-treated medical disorders, pregnancy, birth, motherhood and the entire basis of women’s oppression. How can you not see this for what it is?

I have zero concerns about legitimately dysphoric trans women. I have no issues about sharing spaces with them, but this hasn’t been about those people for a very long time. Have you looked at the Stonewall definition of trans now?

AngryAttackKittens · 26/10/2018 09:40

If you longterm MN users could stop trying to infiltrate MN that would be much appreciated by those who joined MN a week ago to shout at you. Thanks!

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/10/2018 09:38

No they aren't, they are pointing out male violence doesn't vanish when people ID as the opposite sex and self-ID will be abused by those people.

Juells · 26/10/2018 09:38

Yup, we're all stupid. It's our ladybrain. Oh wait, don't transwomen have ladybrains too? Scientifically proven, that is.

Bonions · 26/10/2018 09:35

Certain women with a pro-women agenda are spreading horrid pro-women views on here to try to persuade Mumsnetters that allowing any man who ids as a trans women access to sex segregated spaces is dangerous.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/10/2018 09:35

It is hideous

Yep, and untrue.

Avegemitesandwich · 26/10/2018 09:35

It's a radicalisation portal!!!!!

Because women aren't intelligent enough to read up and form their own opinion on this stuff.

Yesterday I saw a feminist tell another feminist that self-ID brings no danger because “cis women sexually assault cis women” too.

Seeing a feminist deny that men are the biggest danger to women is mind boggling to me. It also subtly implies that the only people who aren’t a threat to women are trans women.

So which is it? If trans women are women, and women assault other women, trans women are a threat too.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/10/2018 09:31

Newsflash: Mumsnet posters infiltrate Mumsnet.
Shocking revelation that 100% of posters on Mumsnet use the site.
