I want Christmas cards!

HirooOnoda · 25/10/2018 16:37

@IKeepFlouncing

Well I suppose nobody can claim you aren’t passionate for the cause if not a little caustic Grin

You can save your whataboutery for someone else however

I would ask the same question (and regularly do) of anyone mass producing such merchandise - we shouldn’t overlook one injustice to support another.

I will also question where the majority of money disappears to with charitable donations, I find it disgusting the amount that is wasted in over the top CEO salaries and lavish office space when this money could and should be put to better use. In my experience all end up guilty of this eventually, from Cancer Research UK to Oxfam and very likely to TRA organisations. You may be happy with this practice of siphoning off money from honest charitable donations, I however am not

IKeepFlouncing · 25/10/2018 15:51

Oh please go ask ethics of the trans are women tshirt makers.

I ordered one yesterday, went for large as did with tshirt, can always bung another warmer top on underneath, saves wearing heavy coat.

Plan to wear my everywhere, schools runs most definitely.

I’m buying a hoodie that I’d normally get of high street shop supporting their profits

I willing to pay more than usual because I supporting women’s rights! Couldn’t give a fuck it just £1 from my purchase goes into the campaign, Worth every fucking Penny!

Go question the TRAs leaders salary!

Or lobby outside Primark

Quality of tshirt s are fab by the way

HirooOnoda · 25/10/2018 15:45

Your insinuation is a rather lazy effort @SwearyG, I am a long time lurker, infrequent poster on MN.

I concur that there is likely (we are already seeing it) to be some sort of pushback against Posie, all the more reason to adopt a belt and braces approach and ensure all of our ducks are in a row, this will avoid arming the inevitable critics in the future.

I have first hand experience of the cruel and exploitative nature of this specific industry and understand that it can be hard to avoid being part of the problem as opposed to being part of the solution.

SwearyG · 25/10/2018 15:35

Oh good. It's a new poster questioning Posie's motives, money handling and integrity. We haven't had people do that in at least three days. How novel and exciting.

KatesMott · 25/10/2018 15:21

I do think @HirooOnoda makes a good point- to me the prices seem cheap as opposed to extortionate so this raises some alarm bells, I’d also like to know how the money made from the merchandise is spent specifically what percentage goes directly to the campaign

FekkoThePenguin · 25/10/2018 15:09

But you dont know? I guess we could ask the question.

HirooOnoda · 25/10/2018 15:00

@FekkoThePenguin

I don’t know and I imagine very few purchasing these tops know either. What I do know is that this industry is renowned for exploiting workers at all stages of the manufacturing process across the globe. How much of the rather exorbitant £30 for a hoodie will end up in the hands of those individuals making these garments?

As I said, we can support the cause without further encouraging the ongoing exploitation of workers around the world

Badstyley · 25/10/2018 14:40

I got my hoody today. I’m 5.2 and normally about size 12, and a small is fine for me. Normally I’d go for a medium in womens fit but these are unisex size so I went down a size. Looks like I was correct.

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 25/10/2018 14:38

"Debating wearing my tshirt to airport at the weekend. It will get a big audience but I don't want added flight hassle"

Fear not 2rebecca: I wore mine through Gatwick last week, and was proud to wear it! Didn't get hassled or arrested

bitheby · 25/10/2018 14:32

Posie said the model on the website is a size 12 and wearing a medium. I'm a 14 and have ordered a large. I'll let you know.

FekkoThePenguin · 25/10/2018 14:31

How do you know where they were made or by who?

HirooOnoda · 25/10/2018 14:22

Sad to see that rabid commercialisation knows no bounds and intrudes on what is a hugely important issue. I prefer to donate directly safe in the knowledge that no vulnerable young girls have been exploited in the making of some of this merchandise.

This industry sees some outrageous exploitation of vulnerable people worldwide and I for one don’t want to be a part of allowing this to continue - be strong, support the cause but don’t be blind to what is happening all over the world

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 25/10/2018 14:08

I've heard they're quite roomy. Two of my friends have already got theirs & I'm feeling jealous!

Socrates11 · 25/10/2018 14:01

Be interested to know how the fit is on the hoodies. I got an XL t-shirt and it's not like the men's larges I usually wear. It fits but it's not very long... (will undershirt it when weather finally turns colder) so feedback on the hoodies would be appreciated...

bitheby · 25/10/2018 12:55

I'm in the Lib Dems. Have already put my head above the parapet locally.

LurkingLizzy · 25/10/2018 12:00

Wouldn't worry about wearing it. The chances of running into someone who knows what it's about are slim.

bitheby · 25/10/2018 11:32

Would you be happy to wear it, take a photograph (omitting above neck) and post it here for us all to admire?

Ok...

2rebecca · 25/10/2018 10:15

I wear my t shirt all over the place. Not really a hoodie fan, or a fan of grey. Debating wearing my tshirt to airport at the weekend. It will get a big audience but I don't want added flight hassle, although not travelling to US or Canada so unlikely.

arranfan · 24/10/2018 23:59

No idea where I'll wear it but I will

Would you be happy to wear it, take a photograph (omitting above neck) and post it here for us all to admire?

bitheby · 24/10/2018 23:56

Ordered mine yesterday (keen) and it's already been shipped! No idea where I'll wear it but I will.

LemonJello · 24/10/2018 23:43

I’d like a mug and key rings. Pens or pencils would also be good- could leave them places.

needmorespace · 24/10/2018 23:26

ordered

FadingMint · 24/10/2018 22:46
