Appeared in my timeline, a friend is trans, but not medically transitioning-and sort of only part time living as a woman.
We have not discussed this issue-they Have no idea on my standpoint at the moment.

1 transwoman’s feelings and safety trumps> any number of women’s feelings and safety.

TinyRick · 23/10/2018 03:45

Oh look! Another woke lefty dude bro spouting misogynistic shite.

So bloody predictable.

ohello · 23/10/2018 03:13

"I care more about people and their safety than what's between their legs". Feel free to tell you that you resposted his thing and one of your acquaintances replied the following. Oh please do.

He is oblivious to how long it took for men to understand even the existence of the concept of rape. Since forever, men thought that all sex was consensual, all sex, all the time, no matter how much the victim was sobbing, it was all consensual. They told themselves that the woman was just playing "hard to get" or "didn't want to admit how much she really wanted it". They even told themselves those lies regarding sex with children, animals, you name it, men are just that dumb and entitled.

Then, when men finally did get it, they immediately forgot how very long it took them to understand. They pretended that they've always known what rape was AND wanted a cookie for always knowing.

Fast forward many years, and then we had to have the long tedious conversations about rape in marriage. Men are DUMB. or they just play dumb as if they don't understand the concepts of consent and boundaries and can we explain it to them again, slower this time and with ever-loving kindness because if we should hurt their fucking idiotic feelings, they'll just say screw it and start raping us again.

THE DEBATE IS ABOUT CONSENT AND BOUNDARIES. In reality, women are entitled to set our own fucking boundaries. He gets to set his, he doesn't get to set mine. If he wants to pee next to a man in a dress then great, he can do that.

He also doesn't understand -- and really how could he, he's just a man and men couldn't possibly be expected to notice facts. Facts like male-bodied people tend to be bigger stronger more impulsive and certainly tend to assume that they are entitled to women's bodies any time they want. Facts like men commit 97% of all violence and 99.999999999% of all sexual violence against women. Facts like transwomen commit higher rates of sex crimes then even regular non-trans men.

This, is yet one more occasion where dood is being dufus. Male bodied person says that he'll kill himself if he doesn't get to pee while sitting next to a woman -- and other men say, "well gosh that sounds about right, okay ladies let him."

NO. My boundaries are not yours to give away.

FlyingMonkeys · 22/10/2018 21:44

I still think he's taking the piss out of transwomen - it's 'all boys nodding and being woke, but fuck the chicks with dicks being in the man's space.. send them to the wimmins!'.. The paragraph about living with disphoria, depression, anxiety, living a lie, and fearing murder daily, whilst being a man presenting as a woman in a male toilet sounds like male bigot problem vs a women's issue.

IfNotNowThenWooOoOoo · 22/10/2018 21:34

Oh, he'll be one of those that say "a ladies sign on the door doesn't magically stop perverts getting in anyway."
But lets not give them an open fucking invitation, eh?

Tell your friend

a) It's not just about toilets. It's actually barely about toilets.
b)Link him to the "this never happens" thread
c) Put him straight about the murder stats
d) Ask him why transwomen are in danger in mens facilities-what are they scared might happen?
e) Tell him that it doesn't actually matter why women don't want to let men into their spaces. We have the right to say no.
And at the end of the day it's really none of his business.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 22/10/2018 21:33

He got one thing right. "I have it super easy." Kind of disqualifies you from this particular discussion, O cis man.
Professor spot on.

GulagsMyArse · 22/10/2018 21:27

fekko Ill be your sister! defo up for a bit of handbagging

FekkoTheLawyer · 22/10/2018 21:20

Oh just saw it was a babysitter! Sounds like my grandma right-o.

FekkoTheLawyer · 22/10/2018 21:19

Are you one of my sisters?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 22/10/2018 21:18

She sounds a bit like a babysitter I had who told me always to take cigarettes to the cinema so I could put one out on anyone who tried to cop a feel. Useful advice in my youth. She had a more realistic take on predatory men than my DM, who had had a very sheltered life.

FekkoTheLawyer · 22/10/2018 21:04

(You don't mess with women of the North)

FekkoTheLawyer · 22/10/2018 21:04

She also had an ornate fruit knife in a beautiful painted a d carved bamboo sheath (with a nice silk tassel) that she kept in her handbag. It looked like a ladies fan!

Badstyley · 22/10/2018 21:02

Cock!

GulagsMyArse · 22/10/2018 21:01

Fekko Grin I like the sound of your granny

FekkoTheLawyer · 22/10/2018 20:52

My late mother would have handbagged him if she met him in Jenners ladies loos.

My grandmother was more, er 'fiesty' and would have probably man-handled him out. You wouldn't mess with my grandmother - she kept a pair of knuckledusters that she had during WW2 (for self-defense should the Germans invade).

NoseringGirl · 22/10/2018 20:49

A woker than woke dude bro 'friend' of mine on Facebook reposted this recently. It made me angry in ways I couldn't even articulate. Relieved to see all the feelings I had explained so well on here.

ResistanceIsNecessary · 22/10/2018 20:48

Is he is scary in life as he looks in the photograph? #PredatorsEyes

Is he as wilfully ignorant as he presents himself on social media? #DefinitionOfMalePrivilege

MrsEldritch · 22/10/2018 20:42

Sorry I reread my op and I've not made it clear that my friend posted this image, this isn't actually him!
Although my friend is trans Mtf.

GulagsMyArse · 22/10/2018 20:29

This is about men not wanting to acknowledge TW are male born. I have to censor myself here.

MrsEldritch · 22/10/2018 20:26

It's just grim
The fear of speaking up has lifted tho, I had a great conversation the other day with a customer, who went onto the fpfw site and filled out the consult-she had spoken with a group who had all in one way or another become aware of this madness.
But the poster of this image is a bridge too far-and I just feel like I'm back to square one battering my head against a wall

Just send him a link about that Steponknee one in Canada and ask if he would be happy for them to join his kids classroom or gym class.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 22/10/2018 20:15

I don't think he's taking the piss out of transwomen, I think he's being deliberately intimidating to women.
I must be so great to find a belief system that lets you bully women and still feel good about yourself.

PineappleSunrise · 22/10/2018 20:15

This is this generation's version of those blokes from 30 to 40-odd years ago who simply refused to believe that street harassment happens, isn't it?

FlyingMonkeys · 22/10/2018 20:13

'He has never seen anyone's genitals in the bathroom'. So he's never used a man's toilets with urinals? Transwomen should be afraid of getting assaulted by 'men' in men's bathrooms? But women shouldn't be afraid of getting assaulted by men in women's bathrooms? 🤔 Transwomen can't wear trousers? - He looks very 'smug' in his 'macho stance/in a dress with full beard (clearly taking the piss out of 'transwomen'- whilst waving a pro equality banner?).
