So what does one identify oneself as today?

Whatever the answer. It is wrong, because it is a nonsensical question IMO, which implies one is an imposter and delusional.

You either ARE a woman or not, if you identify as one but is not BEING one....? Imposter and delusional. Sorry that’s the 💡 light bulb moment I had today and all these light bulbs moments are all logically pointing to the same conclusion.

Today, I am a hedgehog. Worms and snails for tea Grin

SkullPointerException · 22/10/2018 17:24

*Embezzler

NopeNi · 22/10/2018 17:24

I want to self-ID as someone without a stinking cold please?

FekkoTheLawyer · 22/10/2018 17:24

But are you wearing lady undies?

SkullPointerException · 22/10/2018 17:24

Today I identify as a senior VP in high risk derivatives trading and accomplished embezzled. Which means I should be treated as such, by which I mean I get the millions and maybe a slap on the wrist.

I technically know f all about the financial services industry, but my actual job is kind of pissing me off today and the prospect of 3 months in a minimum security prison followed by a lifetime on the Bahamas appeals...

BlackeyedGruesome · 22/10/2018 17:23

Doing DIY, so must be a man. Trousers, t shirt marketed at men, adds to the illusion.

FekkoTheLawyer · 22/10/2018 17:19

I'm just fed up today. I dont ID as fed up I just am. No really I feelz fed up.

I should really self ID as an amazingly confident go-getter. It's too much effort then. Can someone proxy-ID for me please?

citiesofbismuth · 22/10/2018 17:17

I am identifying as a small, red geranium called Mavis. I live in a terracotta pot in a peat based soil which helps to retain water as I dislike being dehydrated. I favour a sunny, but cool position out of direct sunlight otherwise my leaves hurt.

chocolatebox1 · 22/10/2018 16:17

I identify as a Victoria's Secret model, I'm currently taking some time off, but I know they want me back really soon. I think I need to replace my mirror because it appears to be one of those ones like you get in funfairs which make you look twice as wide

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 22/10/2018 16:11

I identify as blue-green algae today. On the premis that a change is better than a rest and all that.

AnchorMum · 22/10/2018 16:05

Absolutely - and much cheaper!

bluetitsaretits · 22/10/2018 15:58

Oh dear! I apologise for miss-hairing you anchor, I should not have assumed.
Buzz cut much more practical though!

AnchorMum · 22/10/2018 15:46

Dear Bluetits are you having a laugh! Only lightweight enbies have blue hair. Us proper bois rock the buzz cut (though it's a bit chilly on the old bonce.)

VintageFur · 22/10/2018 15:00

Erm. ProNe. Am not probing on couch.

VintageFur · 22/10/2018 14:59

I'm identifying as someone working really hard.

Went for a ride, changed the beds and now probe on couch.

But I feelz I've been working.

bluetitsaretits · 22/10/2018 14:32

Glad to add to the collection for the future Bunbury museum, vicky.
I'm sure you will be an excellent custodian and will play an important part in seeing that her work is preserved for posterity.

I identify as a giraffe on Mondays and insist on Swahili pronouns

VickyEadie · 22/10/2018 14:22

Excellent, thank you. As the self-nominated curator of Bunbury's work (and all things related to her), I'm grateful for this Bunbury artefact.

bluetitsaretits · 22/10/2018 14:20

I second that, sproutycus !
anchormum hope you have a fun day, will you be going with the blue hair dye?

So what does one identify oneself as today?
IAmSproutycus · 22/10/2018 14:13

I'm with Hannah Gadsby. I identify as 'tired'. That's my most salient and enduring experience.

AnchorMum · 22/10/2018 14:10

Today I'm identifying as my daughter, inspired by that seminal noughties film Freaky Friday.

My daughter identifies as a non binary trans boi so she gets to be a knackered 50 year old with a lifetime of woman's physical and emotional experience to cart around.

Well I'm certainly going to have some fun Grin

bluetitsaretits · 22/10/2018 14:08

vicky there's some Bunbury related news;

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3401715-Some-light-relief-AHF-poetry

I identify as a healthy and athletic millionaire today. Hopefully that means I don't have to go to work.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 22/10/2018 13:58

I identify as someone who does not want to work today.

VickyEadie · 22/10/2018 13:58

I'm identifying as Germaine Bunbury today (to be fair, there are some marked, entirely coincidental similarities) and am taking no crap from anyone.

Same as it ever was...

bluetitsaretits · 22/10/2018 13:53

There's such a big difference between "I identify as....." and "I am. .." isn't there? !

The first one is all about validation from others. I think that's what psychologists call an 'external locus of identity' -not really healthy, and probably better addressed than indulged in the long run.
