So what does one identify oneself as today?

Whatever the answer. It is wrong, because it is a nonsensical question IMO, which implies one is an imposter and delusional.

You either ARE a woman or not, if you identify as one but is not BEING one....? Imposter and delusional. Sorry that’s the 💡 light bulb moment I had today and all these light bulbs moments are all logically pointing to the same conclusion.

Rude. Respect my boundaries thank you.

I'm gonna peck your ankles for that. Probably poop and cough up on your shoes too.

ThePrincipal · 25/10/2018 13:17

Sorry to burst your bubble but you think you know what is to be penguin, but you don’t. It’s in your head, and no one even yourself can validate it.

I don’t deny the existence of your delusion, but I don’t accept that you exist as a penguin.....

You don't know for certain that a penguin doesn't get cold feet do you? I think we look cold, all huddled against the biting arctic wind without any socks.

How very dare you DENY MY EXISTENCE.

JamPasty · 25/10/2018 12:59

I identify as an angry person who is not at all afraid of what others think of her, so I can call out all the trans shite that I see on Facebook without worrying I'll lose friends. Also as a penguin. Pass the sardines.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/10/2018 12:44

Today I am mostly identifying as knackered. I am considering identifying as someone who needs to go and by lots of sweets, to make me feel better for being so knackered (if only I could drag myself away from the computer to go to the shops).

Melamin · 25/10/2018 11:20

Does anyone know where I can get a spare egg from to incubate on top of my feet? I already have the overhang to cover it Grin I want to experience penguin life as fully as possible.

Melamin · 25/10/2018 11:17

Thank you Fecko. My feet are often freezing and now I know why. I will go and get some feathers installed. I will also need diving lessons though.

ThePrincipal · 25/10/2018 11:15

You are literally busted.

Se. You don’t even KNOW what being a penguin is like, how can you even claim to be a penguin?

FekkoTheLawyer · 25/10/2018 10:51

I'm a penguin today. My feet are bloody freezing. Or should a penguin not get cold feet?

ThePrincipal · 25/10/2018 10:08

What does that mean?

I identify as female. I am fortunate that everything aligns with what I know myself to be.

tenorladybeaker · 25/10/2018 06:56

I identify as a manatee, unfortunately assigned human at birth. The zoo must let me in to the manatee enclosure to be with my brothers and sisters. It's bigotry not to.

Abitlost2015 · 25/10/2018 06:55

I identify as a lottery winner

Yewnicorn · 25/10/2018 06:40

A Yewnicorn. No, not a unicorn, a yewnicorn.

ohello · 25/10/2018 06:26

I'm identifying as a cup of tea in the belly of the beast. Wish I could identify as a ham sandwich, bit hungry...

I eat the things I identify as, just like trans!

ErrolTheDragon · 25/10/2018 00:33

I was lying. I actually am a scientific pedant.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/10/2018 00:30

”I'm identifying as a scientific pedant today, btw ”

Probably my favourite line on this whole ridiculous ID nonsense, @ErrolTheDragon!

mumsastudent · 25/10/2018 00:23

what I find confusing is this: there is a growing practice to have children dress (& school uniforms too) as unisex (or whatever appropriate terminology) BUT if your transitioning m to f it appears you need to dress feminine ++ Now if the previous proposition is that you shouldn't define your child's gender by their dress … & thanks to mumsnet I have now discovered I cannot define myself as just a women I have to be a cis(?) female - so can I say if you want to define me/or me define myself - I am confused (not about my sexuality/gender) just confused.

Angry being gay is an orientation. Just like being heterosexual is an orientation.

A nun who is attracted to men in her orientation but has never and will never sleep with one is not 'identifying' as straight, she is straight. If she is homosexually oriented that would not change based on her sexual experience either.
