I agree. She just wanted to discredit Julie, and knew that most of her followers wouldn't know or care about the truth.

Ash Sarkar, I have come to realise since doing a quick google search, was one of the thugs that tried to get me no platformed by the Salford Working Class library last year, where I was asked to do a talk on growing up as a working class lesbian in the north east of England.

I didn't actually know specifically about Bindel's involvement in this work until all this trans silliness blew up and I went from sleepy mum and wife struggling through life with a vague sense of frustration at how bloody unfair it all seemed, to full blown RadFem who refuses to be cowed by bullies out to shut women up and worse.

So, in a very backhanded way for which they will receive no thanks or respect at all, the AWAs introduced me to her.

She is a bloody marvel.

I believe Thomas Friedman is the stupidest person alive, considering his fawning over Yemen bombing (and now journalist offing) king bin Salman, his inability to understand why debt matters in economic models (which is why he and his ilk of neoclassic economists could not predict the 2008 meltdown) and his Iraq war cheerleading and justification (to show em. And because we could).
That said, Ash is clearly a favorite in the competition of stupidest woman alive - and she may well win it, if the competition is closed for the bepenised sort of ‚women‘.

Anyone got screenshots of Adrain's contributions? He has form for taking them down and then denying.

Ironically, from the way Ash has described her mum, feminist social worker and political activist, I suspect Mummy Sarkar and Julie would probably find a lot of common cause re the women prisoners activities. She should've asked her mum before tweeting.

I agree we're very lucky to have Julie Bindel and it's great that one person's stupidity gives us reason to celebrate her. I remember her writing regularly for the Guardian before she stuck her neck out about trans issues - which she saw coming long before most of us did. I'm sure she could have had a very comfortable career churning out puff pieces if she'd chosen to. I think people with her integrity and clear thinking are bloody rare and if the price is putting up with the odd rude comment about children then it's one I'm very happy to pay. (I'm sure our kids can cope.)

it all reminds me how marvellous Julie is and how lucky we are to have her. She has been fighting this fight since I was a nipper and she won’t stop til she’s cold in the ground. Fucking amazing woman.

I agree. Julie used to write a lot for the Guardian and I've sometimes had issues with the stuff she's written. She can be pretty blunt and to the point about some stuff - can't stand vegetarians, can't stand children and so on. She sometimes does a pretty good job of alienating the very people who should be her natural allies.

But you know what? Stuff it. She has worked absolutely tirelessly for the rights of women and girls for well over 30 years. She's taken on the most unfashionable causes (domestic violence, women imprisoned for killing their partners, young girls coerced into prostitution) and fought as hard as she possibly could for them. And she's done that despite being vilified, abused and libelled by people who claim to be progressive but are actually deep-dyed misogynists. I don't know how she has kept on going, but she has. She's a bloody hero and we're damn lucky to have her.

I guess, once you are ready to repeat, embrace and promote phrases whose content you cannot understand because you can‘t even say what the words in it mean, anything becomes possible and you go full Karl Rove ‚‘we create our own reality‘ and stuff.

I’m a foreigner to uk and even I know about Julie Bindels work. Ffs. But I did not know the personal story of Emma Humfreys, or that she died just 3 years after being finally freed with Julie’s help. So having a little cry after watching this, how utterly tragic.

I expect she realises that the young and woke will believe her over Bindel.

Her and her ilk seem to make their own facts and live in an exhibition chamber where they all just share and like these made up facts.
