Brockley. I have family/friends there.

Still. LGBT has to be an improvement on Women's Officer when Lils hates women

LizzieSiddal · 17/10/2018 23:32

I’ve just seen on LM’s Twitter that they are now the LGBT Labour officer for Brockley.

Thank god they didn’t go for Woman’s Officer again.

Melanippe · 17/10/2018 22:42

Look. It's pretty simple. Everyone knows that Lily can't really be a woman, because when Lily speaks, Lily is listened to by those with power. When women speak, we're told to shut the fuck up, that we're shitty people and should suck formaldehyde pickled balls/ladycock/farts.

R0wantrees · 17/10/2018 21:42

So the Chair of a meeting about kinder, gentler politics told women who tried to explain abusive tweets that they were pathetic.

You couldn't make this stuff up. It's like a plot line from The Thick of It but worse.

Reminiscent of Liverpool mayor, describing Liverpool Resisters as behaving in a 'bullying' and 'intimidating' way whilst, well sounding rather bulling and intimidatory.

I understand that Private Eye have had quite a bit of comment about Mayor of Liverpool. Joe Anderson, OBE in the past

hackmum · 17/10/2018 19:28

Ah, didn't realise it had already happened. The idea that the chair of the kinder, gentler debate called them "pathetic" is hilarious and categorically belongs in the box of things you couldn't make up...

Ereshkigal · 17/10/2018 19:22

and when you tell women to 'go fuck themselves' days before campaigning for 'kinder, gentler politics'

A more cynical person than me would suggest that may have been deliberate.

Ereshkigal · 17/10/2018 19:18

You could read out their tweets at them and ask if this is what is meant by a "kinder, gentler politics".

According to Twitter this is pretty much what happened later on, hence the women being called pathetic by the Chair. But Lily apparently left immediately after delivering Lily's speech. So is being feted on Twitter by sycophants (including woke bro blockhead Neville Southall) for bravery when all that happened is that Lily realised some well known gender critical feminists were in the same room, made a speech condemning "transphobia" online, then quietly left.

BigotedWoman · 17/10/2018 18:56

naivety Tracey Ullman does a little bit -

hackmum · 17/10/2018 18:46

Lily is just the gift that keeps on giving.

Not so long ago they tweeted that Terfs aren't really feminists, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the "f" stands for feminist.

Why exactly is this person being invited to speak? Are they an unusually impressive public speaker or something? Is anyone going along? You could read out their tweets at them and ask if this is what is meant by a "kinder, gentler politics".

naivetyisthenewblack · 17/10/2018 18:18

That's excellent. Madigan is a gift for Private Eye.

We need some political satire on telly . Where is it?

Is there some I'm not aware of or are we totally devoid of TV satire right now?

Gileswithachainsaw · 17/10/2018 18:01

But not someone whose mental health is so fragile that they can’t deal with the cut and thrust of politics. As far as I can tell, being Lily is just a convenient way to continue with their misogyny and get celebrated for it

They know exactly what thwybare doing. Right now the link to the petition is back. The link was removed after proof was tweeted in the responses that they had lied about the grc. Claiming they can't get married.

The mental health breaks always occur after they have been shown up for lying. Proof posted that they were racist or offensive etc. Then everyone ends up feeling sorry for them. Hello.you just lied to hundreds of people and were caught out

R0wantrees · 17/10/2018 17:52

and when you tell women to 'go fuck themselves' days before campaigning for 'kinder, gentler politics', I'd suggest your best bet might be to get off the pot, kiddo, 'cause you're clearly in way over your head

I think a lot of older people who should know better have both encouraged and used Lily Madigan.

Its irresponsible.
This doesn't excuse Lily Madigan's behaviour (which has often been appalling)

Whoever it is that is Lily's celebrated 'transmum' clearly lacks some important 'parenting' skills.

Poppyred85 · 17/10/2018 17:52

From what I’ve seen (I’m not on Twitter so it’s what gets posted elsewhere) Lily doesn’t seem like a delicate little flower to me. Narcissist, deluded and openly hostile to women? Absolutely. But not someone whose mental health is so fragile that they can’t deal with the cut and thrust of politics. As far as I can tell, being Lily is just a convenient way to continue with their misogyny and get celebrated for it.

FermatsTheorem · 17/10/2018 17:47

RF - robust fellow? Ranting four-channer?

MaryDollNesbitt · 17/10/2018 17:45

Has anybody actually sat wee Lils down and discussed the possibility that politics maybe just isn't fucking for them? Hmm

Politics is a battlefield full of shite and as a (wannabe) politician, you need a resilient backbone to navigate it. Shit or get off the pot, Lils. It really shouldn't come as a shock that, in everybody else's reality, politics is more than being called 'cute' or modelling yourself on a fucking emoji Confused And when you tell women to 'go fuck themselves' days before campaigning for 'kinder, gentler politics', I'd suggest your best bet might be to get off the pot, kiddo, 'cause you're clearly in way over your head. If you can't stomach the critics before telling them to 'go fuck themselves', you certainly can't handle them AFTER you've told them to 'go fuck themselves'. It's called blowback. It should come up at Goldsmiths in between 'Woke and Fabulous 101' and 'Throwing Celebratory Mermaids: The New and Improved Clapping'.

AspieAndProud · 17/10/2018 17:41

If the criticism is coming from men what does the RF stand for in their favourite slur?

FermatsTheorem · 17/10/2018 17:40

In the case study featuring Lily in the ‘Kinder, Gentler Politics’ report, Lily also says that the worst abuse comes from older men. Hmm.

Perhaps Lily is belatedly realising that there's a difference between honest difference of opinion and debate on the one hand, and genuine transphobia of the sort you find on, say, Kiwi Farms or 4 Chan.

Then again, maybe not.

Binglebong · 17/10/2018 17:40

Hislop may well be saying stuff on HIGNFY. he has no control over the editing.

AspieAndProud · 17/10/2018 17:39

Why aren't people like Ian Hislop shouting loudly about this on HIGNFY?

Because of the ‘woke’ studio audience.

Considering the frankly ludicrous nature of transpolitics you’d think it was fertile ground for comedy.

As indeed it was for Monty Python, The League of Gentlemen and Little Britain.

Now you’d get the same response as if you started a joke with ‘There were these three man in a pub: an Irish man, a Jew and a Pakistani...’
