Anyone been following the latest with Sticker woman in Manchester? Last weekend she was busy flyering in the gay village and caused quite an uproar the next day. You can catch up what happened here. It ended up with GMP tweeting in support of 'No Terfs on our Turf.'

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3387573-Greater-Manchester-Police-Pride-Network-supports-No-T-on-our-turf

Yesterday it seemed sticker woman hit back with a couple of strongly worded posters.

Now the TRA types are playing dumb confused about the 'women smell of fish' slur.' I will leave this tweet here because it's unbelievable to me that prominent members of the trans rights movement would be crass enough to make light of this. Women smelling of fish is woman hate 101. It's probably not a good idea to make a load of fish based puns in response is it?

To me this really underlines how these people are not women. Every woman has been made to feel ashamed of her own body and her own odours. This is not funny it just makes them look like misogynistic men.

Oh yeah, my husband doesn’t want to get changed with females he does not know- or even with those he does! Except me!

PersonWithAVulva · 16/10/2018 15:59

And again, it’s not just about actual risk of harm, but our culture and comfort. Women don’t typically get changed with males! Many don’t wisj to do that. Why can’t we just say, NO, we want to retain female spaces.

Yup.

Men don't want to get changed with women either, or share their areas. From what I have heard from male friends, and the reaction of men to the manfriday chaps.

ThisIsTheFirstStep · 16/10/2018 15:51

It’s not an exclusively gay thing at all unless every boy in my secondary school was gay.

It’s definitely international too, here in Korea, women are referred to as a portmanteau of a slang word for vulva (boji) and the word for squid (ojingeo) - bojingeo. Lovely.

TBH I get really pissed when some people try to use as a defence of transwomen - why let lesbians in? WTAFF?

Yes this annoys the fuck out of me. One, its equating lesbians with male people (something they seem to get a lot, especially butcher ones 'why do you try to be a guy, etc). Two statistics show that women, regardless of their sexuality, are not a threat at all compared to men. Three, from personal experience I have never had an issue with women pushing boundaries. I also used to drink in gay bars a few years back, as my best mate was gay and he used to ask me to go with him. A few times, while he was grinding away on some guy..I was approached by women. However, just saying no thanks, I am straight was enough for them to leave me alone (and often buy a drink and chat...chat properly, not letchy like guys would be after buying a drink). Meanwhile drinking in 'straight bars' (not sure how to put that) would almost always end in some pervy guy pawing me and refusing to leave me alone no matter what I said. I have also been sexually assaulted like 10 times since being 13..and raped once. Always by guys.

So I view women as 0 threat. Yes I could be unlucky and get the 1 woman in a thousand or whatever who might attack me. But I am willing to take that risk, compared to the amount of guys who would. Also its a ridiculous reply to say 'oh well X females should be barred from female only areas' in response to people saying male people shouldn't be there.

Perhaps he just sits at home writing bitter letters to the local paper, and ironing his pants.

Yes lots of male 🐱 eaters Purrrrr

Danaquestionseverything · 16/10/2018 12:00

So Gross. Honestly as a hetro woman I'm gobsmacked to discover how much some gay men hate women. Back in the mid to late 80's I'd sometimes go to gay nightclubs. Why? Because the music was better. Because I could avoid being groped by creeps. Because in the mid 80's I was underage so trying to deflect those creeps brought unwanted attention.

With the exception of a bizarre toilet encounter I'll leave for another time... the worst I had said to me was breeder. That was probably only due to a few straight males grabbing a hold of me if a man approached them. Really fellas.? Hiding behind a 5"2 female ain't a good look. In fairness I never took that comment personally. The gay community was under a lot of vilification due to AIDS and we had some horrendous media reports and scarily misinformed add campaigns.

I never had a problem with lesbians. I'd groove away and be approached to dance. At an appropriate moment I'd let her know I wasn't that way inclined but would still love to dance. We'd dance (sometimes for ages) and finish with a thank you hug and kiss.

TBH I get really pissed when some people try to use as a defence of transwomen - why let lesbians in? WTAFF?

These "fish" comments are just really advertising their immaturity. It's really the kind of comment that prepubescent and younger teenage boys make (at least those that haven't been raised to respect women). Just repost & retweet that rubbish. Society will judge, a society that just quietly contains men that enjoy eating 😻

I have made a formal complaint to the GMC re:Harrop & LibDems re:Challenor.
They really are grubby & nasty inadequate misogynists. Unedifying and pathetic...dangerous.

SirVixofVixHall · 16/10/2018 10:44

Oh thanks Noodle, I hadn’t seen that twitter chat. He is a humourless, deeply unpleasant, angry little man isn’t he ? I wonder what he does in his spare time, offer treats to puppies and as soon as they sit, eat them himself ?

Knicknackpaddyflak · 16/10/2018 09:25

I've wondered for a while what the situation is that the GMC haven't reacted. There must be one, since bringing the profession into disrepute and breaches of conduct have been flung around like confetti, and very publicly. The man's certainly made himself unemployable, and doesn't seem to be worried about it.

AngryAttackKittens · 16/10/2018 09:18

RE The comments from Jane Faye, AC, etc, envy is a sad thing to witness, isn't it?

Babdoc · 16/10/2018 09:11

Can we refer Harrop to the GMC for bringing the profession into disrepute? His social media comments are a disgrace - no doctor should be publicly telling women to fuck off.

user1468233640 · 16/10/2018 09:03

A quick look at the medical register threw up something more interesting than the basic public details of this trainee GP.

The Post-graduate Dean, Professor Kumar, named as the responsible officer for the Northern Deanery in England on the GMC site, cannot be unaware of his views, can she?

KeepOnKeepingOnAgainandAgain

Its all about spaces , We all used to love to go up to Manchester gay scene at weekends , but its not safe for lesbians in Manchesters gay village at weekends now certain gay pubs and clubs are full of straight people , and its straight men hitting on lesbians or causing fights with our butch girlfriends

both me and Jo were married to men decades ago, , we don't hate men , , we just don't want them hitting on us

to the point lesbians feel really unsafe , its ridiculous , the gay village full of Stag and Hen, do,s not to supports gay people ,

even down here in Birmingham many bars are now letting straight couples in Not To support us

a few Lesbian FB groups have had get togethers , in supposedly gay clubs , where single straight men start hitting on lesbians, recently the butch women have blocked these straight cruising guys from hitting on the more feminine women , its not nice for my boyish girlfriend to have to fight just for us to have a dance or for us to be intimate in our own spaces

which is why we introduced women only dinner partys at each others houses , at least we know our straight female friends , are respecting us ,

they know their husbands/boyfriends arent welcome, but it hasn't stopped one friends boyfriend wanting to know what we do, we laugh, debate the issues like on here, and have some great nights

Golly they better be careful ..Anyone would think that the good Doctors wanted to pave the way for sex with children to become acceptable in white European culture ..I mean how far from the equator does CSA become unacceptable ?

ChattyLion · 15/10/2018 20:53

Noodle Holy shit. Shock that Dr Christian tweet.

ChattyLion · 15/10/2018 20:50

Thank you stickerwoman for standing up for women. Flowers
Its disgusting that so many gay spaces have become hostile to lesbians over this issue. How fucking dare they remove these spaces from women.

The film Tangerine makes much of fish as an insult to women. It's the insult of choice used by the two trans protagonists of the woman they kidnap, beat up and drag round town because it turns out she's been shagging one of the protagonists' pimp/boyfriend. Funnily enough, despite the fact that its major plot device seemed to hinge on two male-bodied individuals meting out physical violence to a much smaller, weaker female character, it met with almost universal critical acclaim.

I remember that film being discussed on here, and I went and watched the trailer and was appropriately horrified. Some would say, 'peaktransed'.

I wonder if the fact that Linehan has shone some light on these people and their uncanny similarity with the Gamergate crowd, has made them cockier in appealing to their core 'incel' constituency, with those dog whistles. A bit like Trump, out-Trumping himself once it became clear that he is the [insert insult of choice] that he is

AnotherBewilderedQuoll · 15/10/2018 19:41

As Germaine said, it's grotesque parody.

Trinity1976 · 15/10/2018 19:39

It's almost like they don't really view themselves as women at all.

Yes, they do a fairly shite impression of women. Not convincing at all.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 15/10/2018 19:31

That was a tv doctor.

Yes. The famously misogynistic Dr Christian.
