So Brian Paddock thinks self-ID is ok because

A birth certificate has never been used as a passport to access safe spaces & the GRA is about birth certificates.

And also that transwomen have nothing to do with male violence, and that If a lesbian is seeking refuge from domestic violence, simply denying refuge access to men won’t help.

Even the bit about men challenging ‘predatory’ gay men in the changing room is baffling. Is that really standard police advice?

Voice0fReason · 11/10/2018 20:52

Probably has been discussed, but can someone point me to how self id would work? Is there a process of some kind? Is it just a man decided he is a woman, gets a birth certificate and he is a woman?
Man decides he is a woman, completes a form, is given a GRC.
Because it would be unfair and too onerous to expect anything more.
It genuinely will be that simple.

In the meantime, all they have to do is say that they identify as a woman to gain the legal right to be treated as a woman. You cannot even ask to see a person's GRC.

Voice0fReason · 11/10/2018 20:49

Brian Pillock mansplains why women are being silly to worry about predatory men

SylvanianFrenemies · 11/10/2018 20:07

Fair enough. But I wonder if he would differentiate between transmen and other, be-penised men? 🤔

RedToothBrush · 11/10/2018 20:01

He was married to a woman before...

SylvanianFrenemies · 11/10/2018 19:57

Brian can come back to us when he's happy to lick a transman's manly clit.

Melamin · 11/10/2018 19:53

It's never going to go well for the average woman, much less a child, is it?

That puts me in mind of a certain Eddie's autobiography and 13 yr old girls finding him in the toilets. Not sure how that would have gone if he had felt entitled to be there Hmm

seafret · 11/10/2018 19:48

Yeah, Fuck off Brian :)

VickyEadie · 11/10/2018 19:43

You can always question someone’s presence

The range of possible responses to a question like "Should you be in here?" includes: yes, fuck off; yes, what's it to you?; Who the fuck ar you to ask me that?; getting beaten up; etc.

It's never going to go well for the average woman, much less a child, is it?

merrymouse · 11/10/2018 19:40

‘You can always question someone’s presence’ is the woke equivalent of ‘why didn’t you report it?’.

VickyEadie · 11/10/2018 19:38

The same as women should have no problem just telling any man with nefarious intent to 'Go away' in a firm, loud voice and therefore feel safer.

Sturdy pyjamas all round, then.

Turph · 11/10/2018 19:21

Yes, birth certificates are simultaneously pointless and never used, and also must be made easier to change the sex recorded because it's utterly vital. The same as women should have no problem just telling any man with nefarious intent to 'Go away' in a firm, loud voice and therefore feel safer, but transwomen are so terribly vulnerable that they couldn't possibly use the toilet designated for their sex because they are far too frail and tremulous to stand up to the men in there.
These are going on my list!

RedToothBrush · 11/10/2018 19:21

I know a Brian. I'd like to tell him to fuck off for his patronising sexism too. So yeah. I'm liking fuck off Brian.

RedToothBrush · 11/10/2018 19:19

Fuck off, Brian’ is going to be my new standard response to any meaningless, ill-thought-through shite from now on.

I sense a MN meme coming on.

Rebecca36 · 11/10/2018 19:17

I'm disappointed, have always liked him. However he may change his mind, probably not thought it all out properly - and not put himself in the shoes of a woman.....so to speak.

Bicyclethief · 11/10/2018 19:12

Bicyclethief · 11/10/2018 19:09

Are transmen more of a threat then?

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 19:03

Besmirching, that made me laugh. "Fuck off, Brian" does have a certain right, doesn't it?

Redkeyboard · 11/10/2018 19:00

And why WHY do women in prison have to get naked shower with share cells with men they don't know, even if the men don't rape them?

Having to put up with men all over teh place all teh time when we are vulnerable and it's fine as long as they dont' rape us overlooks massive massive chunks of all sorts of stuff about men and women in our society and it's not surprising becasue you're a BLOKE.

Also the massive irony of being told to leave transwomen alone when all women want to do is have some bloody privacy.

"There is a male who raped women who got a GRC in prison and was transferred to a women's prison. Cant remember who though.

Paddick needs to be tweeted this."

Well no on the thread Karen Jones (sexaully assaulted 4 women in prison) was raised and paddick says NO NO don't just say men can't be locked in with women, you need better risk assessment...

Tell you what Brian mate, women and girls are told from the day our tits start to grow that MEN generic MEN are a risk. You know this. There is a reason for this.

But Oh these ones have filled in an online form and now have a legal right to be in with the women mmmmkay? And let's not worry about the FACT that most men who commit sex offences are NEVER reported or caught and it is a large minority of men so how exactly are these oh so clever risk assessments going to work then?

Or is the idea to make prisons mixed sex and then have a separate prison for sex offenders because it's about people not sex OMG don't be so sexist women do it too what about lesbians blah blah blah

RedToothBrush · 11/10/2018 18:54

I suppose questioning someone's presence works if you are in prison?

OvaHere · 11/10/2018 18:51

Questioning the presence worked out well for the Planet Fitness woman who complained about the fetishistic cross dresser in her changing room. She was just called transphobic and had her gym membership revoked.

That's what all our futures look like if we try to question the special lady cock.

hipsterfun · 11/10/2018 18:46

You can always question someone’s presence

Yeah thanks, Brian, I’ll pass that on to little DD, shall I?
