The irony of course, is that Sophie is likely at least middle-class and is certainly white.....

Just said women doesn't include transwomen...

littlbrowndog · 10/10/2018 23:11

Them white middle class feminists was used by Sophie as well

AutoFillUsername · 10/10/2018 23:11

I don’t normally contribute to these threads but was watching Newsnight and boiling with rage. Even DH, who has never knowingly thought about these debate, laughed at the idea that two male born Caucasians could sit on national tv and discuss between themselves how feminist women aren’t inclusive.

enrichedatthegulags · 10/10/2018 23:11

I have gone from not really too bothered by it all to CONSTANTLY FXCKING FUMING about it.
Once you see it you can't unsee it.

HumberElla · 10/10/2018 23:10

Well that was chummy! Conclusion being that lots of people appear to be very quickly offended over nothing at all.
Finishing with a little knowing look and a chuckle together.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/10/2018 23:09

Who knows how to do the complaints thing well?
I didn't see it myself but not having an actual woman to discuss the mangling of the word 'woman' is beyond belief.

Why were they talking about 'womyn', is anyone using that now?Confused

chickenloverwoman · 10/10/2018 23:08

I've just watched this. No "natal" woman available to appear as well, for some balance?

littlbrowndog · 10/10/2018 23:08

He just let Sophie tell him all about women
And he did a special soft fecking voice to Sophie

WTFisawomxn · 10/10/2018 23:07

Yup. Another one for the bias thread, then.

littlbrowndog · 10/10/2018 23:06

Why no women on this wtaf

Destinysdaughter · 10/10/2018 23:06

Where’s the fucking balance BBC??

Wheres the bloody WOMEN??

littlbrowndog · 10/10/2018 23:06

Kind eyes ffs

WTFisawomxn · 10/10/2018 23:06

They want to "lower the temperature," and Sophie says we need to "look at things with kind eyes."

Sophie says people are so quick to judge and be offended.

OP posts:
Overstating · 10/10/2018 23:06

Oh I give up. Sophie: there are people who are so quick to be offended about something.

Seriously??? Without a hint of irony?

Overstating · 10/10/2018 23:05

Sophie: We need to look at these things with kind eyes. [translation: see I'm such a good woman]

enrichedatthegulags · 10/10/2018 23:05

So no females were available to comment?
Is this a joke?

littlbrowndog · 10/10/2018 23:05

2 guys talking about women it seems

Destinysdaughter · 10/10/2018 23:05

I bloody knew I shouldn’t have watched this. 2 MEN discussing what words women are allowed to use to describe themselves...? Angry

WTFisawomxn · 10/10/2018 23:05

Now they're on about non-binary.

OP posts:
Overstating · 10/10/2018 23:04

Ha ha ha ha ha the interviewer is tripping himself up with all his 'defined by'!

WTFisawomxn · 10/10/2018 23:04

Sophie is, as we know, trans. It seems to come off as two biological males arguing about women. And they're confused about why women are offended.

OP posts:
AyeRobot · 10/10/2018 23:04

Not watching, but seriously? This is nothing in the scheme of things.

Destinysdaughter · 10/10/2018 23:03

The word woman is elitist????

WTFisawomxn · 10/10/2018 23:03

They're angry about women with a y: womyn
Saying it excludes women of colour and transwomen.
