Exhausted and depressed by the power and misogyny of TRAs

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen · 07/10/2018 19:25

I can't understand how the TRA lobby has been able to hoodwink so many organisations so quickly and so forcefully.

It is madness to me: the emperor obviously has no clothes but almost everyone is pretending he has and everyone else is too scared to speak up and point out he hasn't even if they know it.

But I am exhausted by the mental energy it is taking to fight this, engage (especially in a calm and rational way so as not to scare people off) and generally keep pushing back.

My DH - while wholeheartedly agreeing with me - thinks it comes down to arguing with idiots on social media and I should take a step back but then I remember Karen White, Jess Bradley, Pips Bunce, and I realise this isn't an academic argument - it's real and it's impacting women in the real world - and I need to keep fighting.

I am trying to move my social media activism into real-world activism, first by peak-transing friends, but also by getting involved with protest, groups etc.

But I'm just so tired. And I can't see when/where this will end. It sort of all feels inevitable.

Just rambling... and wondering if anyone feels the same.

Re the Uighur

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.fastcompany.com/40510238/in-xinjiang-china-some-knives-branded-with-owners-qr-codes

China are going as far a using qr codes to keep track of knives. I've also seen reports (containing photos) of how some knives have to be chained up to stop the mere possibility being used for terrorism, even in professional kitchens.

It's incredible and horrific to think about.

Google are currently trying to get back into the Chinese Market but in order to do so have to comply with censorship laws there which they are now agreeing to after years of saying it was unexceptable (unamerican).

The Trump got in and American diplomacy and liberal values went down the toilet. Human right are no longer important

theintercept.com/2018/09/13/google-china-search-engine-employee-resigns/
Senior Google scientist resigns over "forfeiture of our values" in china

Google aren't exactly being transparent about what they plan with China, which isn't popular with employees or shareholders.

Google had a big data breech and didn't tell users recently, deciding instead to simply shut down Google + instead.

Google needs a huge dose of government and international scrutiny. Instead it appears things are going in the opposite direction.

Bloody hell woman11017 that's chilling stuff!
The fertility issue is interesting, hadn't thought about that. Those of us who are past it will be worth even less than we are now!
At a sort of tangent, the sex doll brothels are another aspect of dehumanisation that gives me the creeps.

woman11017 · 09/10/2018 20:10

Following on from red's post on China and AI. They are seeking to use it to control a whole area Xinjiang, in the north. Police stations are appearing on street corners, there's mass surveillance, huge detention camps and people are having to have Han security forces come to live in their homes to monitor them.

Such a beautiful place and people. Very sad. Probably very prescient.

Channel 4 news did a wee thing on it.
www.channel4.com/news/the-persecution-of-the-uyghur-people-incarceration-and-re-education
For Uyghurs, it means that wherever they go, whomever they talk to and even whatever they read online are all being monitored by the Chinese government
www.engadget.com/2018/02/22/china-xinjiang-surveillance-tech-spread/

No matter how they try to control with AI, in the west, our capital is our fertility. Western male fertility is down 50% over the last few decades. Lisa Muggeridge has a good piece on us being the most productive of the species. Our fertility is our capital, no matter what handmaidey fantasies they have, they're not getting it. They are no where near being able to re produce it artificially. Smile

There seems to be a whole mixture of sinister things happening.
There's definitely a move to get everyone as 'connected' as possible -the move away from cash (so all transactions can be tracked), the need to be signed in to google or whatever on phones laptops etc to do anything, carrying a geo tag (phone) wherever you go.
Some things people objected to not that long ago they are now happily paying to be part of -eg having your DNA profiled and always carrying ID (phones).
There's the whole 'trans humanism' thing too- tech implants, body modifications.
People spending so much time in VR that it becomes more 'real' to them than the physical world.

We are slowly being edged into the matrix.

Sounds nuts but here we are at the start of a 'brave new world ' (excellent book)

Microchipping humans is already a reality;

MirabelleThePitbull · 09/10/2018 18:28

And there is so much misogyny there won’t be the political/social will to prevent this. Those who stand against it will be in a minority and/or too frightened to do anything.

MirabelleThePitbull · 09/10/2018 18:26

I believe the eradication of natal women is the end game. Look at what’s being done in the biomedics field, artificial wombs etc. And look who’s funding it.
A world of artificial women just for men’s fun, and the artificial wombs for human reproduction. Makes George Orwell look like a dalek.

RedToothBrush · 09/10/2018 17:57

I just hope we haven't already passed the tipping point where it's too late for resistance to make any different.

Thats my very real fear.

I think we might.

In which case, I will be convicted of crimes against the state sooner or later. It wouldn't need to be for thought crime, owning extremist material would be sufficient.

Extremist material would include history and biology books currently used in schools.

RedToothBrush · 09/10/2018 17:54

China are currently developing technology where workers wear a hat that 'reads their emotions' so if they are having a less productive day workers are sent home rather than make mistakes for example.

The extent of where the technology is being used to effectively 'plug in humans' in a way in which they no longer have an individual identity or human value is scary.

www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/2143899/forget-facebook-leak-china-mining-data-directly-workers-brains
‘Forget the Facebook leak’: China is mining data directly from workers’ brains on an industrial scale

Government-backed surveillance projects are deploying brain-reading technology to detect changes in emotional states in employees on the production line, the military and at the helm of high-speed trains

This stuff goes BEYOND the lingustic gaslighting of '1984' and starts to verge on becoming Star Trek's Borg where people are assimulated against their will, and resistance is futile.

And its ACTUALLY happening.

You would be looking at a slave class made of the working class, and a middle class who benefit from this, but are at risk of becoming the slave class, if they do not behave whilst there is a rich elite who can do anything. And I do mean anything, in the sense of the excesses of dictators like Saddam, where humanity has become utterly meaningless.

It makes Hitler and Stalin look like they were amatuers, put it that way.

rememberatime · 09/10/2018 16:15

I was heartened when I spoke to my partner (finally) about this. I know he is very leftist and open minded. I sent him an article to open up the debate. he expressed that he felt torn because his own bullied upbringing made him immediately sympathetic of groups that can seem to be targets. this includes women.

This is why he was torn - he felt empathy for both sides.

Then he thought again and realised that transwomen are men. They are the same class that bullied him, that treat the women he loves badly. he then saw it as an infiltration and an attempt to undermine women's boundaries. He was able to see all this without losing his empathy for those with genuine dysphoria (a point we both agreed on).

One on one conversations will often end in a compromise of sorts. most people want to come to a place where they understand the opinions of other people even if they don't entirely agree.

Focus on those people. others will be dogmatic for the sake of being so. they are the ones who don't care about women's boundaries. Those have always been the men we should avoid.

AngryAttackKittens · 09/10/2018 15:54

I just hope we haven't already passed the tipping point where it's too late for resistance to make any different.

RE deepwater's point, look at China too. A lot of what we're seeing at universities and in the Labour Party draws heavily on the Maoist model.

hellandhairnets · 09/10/2018 15:51

I really can't recommend enough familiarizing yourself with the political history of the Soviet Union (and other totalitarian states) in terms of understanding how societies are manipulated and controlled.

Indeed. Visited and then worked in one of the ex-Soviet satellite countries before and after the fall of communism and have a friend who grew up in the DDR at the time of the Stasi - this methodology is all strikingly familiar.

Like many things, once seen, can't be unseen. Forewarned is forearmed I suppose?

deepwatersolo · 09/10/2018 15:40

Ah, right, I see. I'm finding that I'm constantly having to second guess everything the authorities do now to find the real reason behind things. I'm not well educated, so don't know if I'm being paranoid.

Well, I am only guessing here, too, just like you. (And I feel like a tinfoilhatter for it, but it is, arguably, not crazier than the current TWAW business). Paedophilia and/or transhumanism (implants, chips instead of passports or cash and total supervision, resulting in total control) may well be part of the deal, to uproot the people, isolate us, make us fully dependent and forget our history, making us docile sheeple as a result.

citiesofbismuth · 09/10/2018 15:28

deepwatersolo · 09/10/2018 14:48

Softening us up to accept paedophilia as the norm?

Could be. But I believe, it is more like softening it up to accept a 'benign technocracy' that nudges people along as needed, even if it is against the people's own interests - which they may not even be able to grasp, because they have unlearned critical thinking skills (or at least people understand that critical thinking is bad, if it disturbs the harmony of society, say, by hurting somebody's feelings).

Think China.

citiesofbismuth · 09/10/2018 14:25

Softening us up to accept paedophilia as the norm? Or a misogynistic state where women are stripped of their rights and more or less kept indoors for breeding purposes or to be exploited sexually?

Years ago, I posted a thread about how I felt paedophilia would be pushed as an agenda and how it would eventually be forced upon the public who would have to accept it. I was called paranoid and nuts etc., but boundaries are being pushed in all kinds of ways and if women are stripped of the right to protect our children, then what might happen?

The public seem to be constantly fed a diet of distracting rubbish on tv and there is no intelligent conversation regarding societal issues.

ClosdesMouches · 09/10/2018 14:02

I still don't think trans is the end game, it's softening us up for something else.

I agree..

deepwatersolo · 09/10/2018 13:57

Related to something posted in another thread - I really can't recommend enough familiarizing yourself with the political history of the Soviet Union (and other totalitarian states) in terms of understanding how societies are manipulated and controlled.

I have only read a bit of Hannah Arendt's work on totalitarian societies, and it is compelling to draw comparisons to the current state of affairs. Funny enough, she is one of those philosophers / political theorists, whose writing I can understand. Almost like she wants her writings to be understood. Wink

I don't think it's a coincidence that those of us who have a long history of studying those states are overrepresented on both the critical side and the full steam ahead with the reprogramming side of the trans issue.

deepwatersolo · 09/10/2018 12:59

I believe so, too. Even though it sounds nuts. (Not nuttier that TWAW, though).

AngryAttackKittens · 09/10/2018 12:50

Maybe that's been part of the point all along, the find out which individuals won't just go along with whatever the powers that be say and have a reason to arrest them.

I still don't think trans is the end game, it's softening us up for something else.

deepwatersolo · 09/10/2018 12:45

I'm wondering how the general public will deal with the aftermath. I live and work in a very traditional working class area and non of the people I encounter would tolerate this nonsense and would object loudly and very bluntly if faced with a man in a women's area.

Either the government will go full totalitarian, or it will be impossible to uphold.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 09/10/2018 12:42

I've been banging on about this since 2012. Six fucking years. I'm burnt out. I need a break but it's too important to give up now. But I post far less than I did. My health is crap anyway, which doesn't help.

ClosdesMouches · 09/10/2018 10:22

I've wondered the same, bismuth.
