adult human female

Has anone tried wearing one of Posie's t-shirts out and about? I just saw them and watched her YouTube video Grin. Very interested to get and wear one.. but then a part of me is scared and thinking I might just wear it around the house, which would defeat the point.

What am I scared of.. being approached in an aggressive way, shouted at in front of others in public, potentially even being physically grabbed or attacked. but these are just perceptions, as I haven't anything to base the fears on. So, unreasonable. I have a 5 year old daughter and wouldn't want her to see any of that, that is a part of it.

It is the DICTIONARY DEFINITION of woman / women. So in no way wrong, hateful, hostile.. and yet I just googled 'Posie adult human female' and the first thing that came up is the billboard that was taken down. All it did was state a fact.

Has anyone tried wearing one?

For context I live in a small sized Midlands town, not a city.

LittleMissedTheSunshine thank you. Looks like I may need to try the men's XL then. It'll probably come down to my knees as I am short and fat. Or I could fashion a tunic out of several tote bags Grin.

Charliethefeminist · 08/10/2018 19:43

I have one ordered but will never stand on the edge of a train platform while wearing it. Otherwise, not worried.

Valentinewiggins · 08/10/2018 19:42

I wore mine to a school event last week and (very disappointingly) no one said a word ...

dianebrewster · 08/10/2018 19:37

Waves at @NameChangedAgain18 great to meet you in RL too. At least the positive coming out of this is getting to meet some more intelligent feisty women 😎

GColdtimer · 08/10/2018 06:50

Slightly different point but I think we think RL is going to be like online life and it isn't. For a start people are way less confrontational but also this who issue has passed the vast majority of people by. I was out with FPFW yesterday and 95% of people had no clue about the consultation. And when they knew they were all unhappy with the idea. So wear your Tshirt. Confrontation is unlikely!

numptynuts · 07/10/2018 23:59

In the co-op yesterday Grin no comments but I am in rural Suffolk

nicenewdusters · 07/10/2018 21:27

Heman Thank you for the link.

dudsville · 07/10/2018 20:43

I want to order the one for women and for men, partly because I think they'll be a thing to remember in 50 years. Er um less than that as I'll be dead by then!

DialsMavis · 07/10/2018 20:39

I'm waiting for mine to arrive. Don't know what to expect reaction wise

SirVixofVixHall · 07/10/2018 20:35

Of course, those supporting Man Friday should get two, with the man one for special Friday wearing.

SirVixofVixHall · 07/10/2018 20:34

I might get one, but might plump for the bag instead. I’m also nervous about wearing it out and about, which is obviously barmy, but the fear of male violence runs very deep.

Bisquitine · 07/10/2018 20:26

Fuck it. I read the Lily Madigan thread. T-shirt bought. Will wear with pride.

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 07/10/2018 19:38

sizing is small IMO heman . I'm usually a small 14 but the ladies large is tight fitting on me

HemanOrSheRa · 07/10/2018 18:15

Here you go nice

nicenewdusters · 07/10/2018 17:45

I want to get the tote bag but can't find the link on the site. I know it's a pain but if anyone could link I'd be grateful.

Bisquitine · 07/10/2018 16:57

Same here. I've had the tab open on my browser for over a week but not yet bought one as nervous about other people's reactions.

whereisthatpenguinfrom · 07/10/2018 16:48

diane I like the idea of the tote bag too.. like namechanged probably won't be wearing it on the Uni campus where I work. Tempting.. but not quite that brave.

I've got the red Fair Play t shirt, and one with a venus symbol on with no writing. It could mean I'm into astrology for all people know but it gets read as 'in your face feminist'.

HemanOrSheRa · 07/10/2018 13:02

Can anyone tell me what the sizing is like please? I'm a size 20/22 with big boobs and perimenopausal belly! I'd have no problem wearing it out and about.

FlowerpotFairyHouse · 07/10/2018 12:59

Mine is ordered but not yet arrived.

LiverpoolReSisters · 07/10/2018 12:57

One of our members was approached by a transwoman who wanted to start an argument, but a calm demeanor and request for civil debate resulted in the individual walking away.

NameChangedAgain18 · 07/10/2018 12:46

dianebrewster - that was me yesterday! It was nice to meet you! I’ve just ordered the t-shirt. Probably won’t be wearing it on campus, though.

dianebrewster · 07/10/2018 12:41

I've got the tote bag - first time I pulled it out to use it the shop assistant said "great bag", used it yesterday en route to a meeting and got approached by someone who said "I'm guessing you're going to the same meeting as me" - much more visible than the T Shirt and can be turned inwards if you're nervous. No negative reactions at all, and I'm using it a lot atm.

BingBongSong · 07/10/2018 12:28

Barracker, do they want to come to the group filling in session?

Barracker · 07/10/2018 12:23

I wore one last weekend which prompted a handful of female friends to talk about filling in the consultation.
