ITA, Ida.

SophoclesTheFox · 09/10/2018 06:56

that fits, emma.

There's a childishness to it too - in that ego-driven place before children really appreciate others as beings who are as important as they are.

TheFemaleGaze · 09/10/2018 06:44

Kinesis, another trans person on Twitter, has launched the hashtag transrational.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 09/10/2018 03:18

Sophocles, I think you’re right.

“When trans supporters get so extremely exercised about feminists "denying their existence" or "denying their right to exist" when we disagree with them, is that because they themselves really, really want people who disagree with them to just vanish?

Does their thinking go: you disagree with me, I wish you wouldn't exist?

And they think we think the same thing?”

Lisa Muggeridge did an excellent video about narcissists, and one of her comments was that the things they accuse you of, are the things they are guilty of. So in effect, their darkest thoughts are hiding in plain sight.

I had a quick look for the video, but can’t remember which one it was. I found the link here, so someone might remember.

Someone mentioned how it’s interesting that Fionne is being lauded on a parenting site. Well obviously “parent” covers a huge cross section of society with every point of view and way of life represented but I would say one thing the vast majority of us have in common is wanting to help children to be able to grow psychologically, spiritually, intellectually and physically healthy - to have empathy for that process and be concerned with anyone that wishes to interfere with the natural growth process of each particular child.

The nature of parenting I think increasing empathy and tolerance but not tolerance for invading boundaries or being abusive. By extension people wishing to influence our children’s future should be healthy individuals themselves and parents have a very low tolerance for bullies.

When we see an adult like Fionne who is able to explore gender while at the time staying within the bounds of objective truth (that he is a man) parents see that as healthy. Shouting parents down for wanting our children to understand the difference between objective and subjective reality is never going to gain you fans.

bunch of conservative attention-seekers from the older generation want to feel special

What, like the countless middle aged men who dump their wives and children to become 'stunning and brave' for internet arse pats?

LenGoodmansPickledWalnuts · 08/10/2018 23:14

Fionne, I once saw a clip where a stranger gave Beyonce unsolicited advice on how to lose weight - yes, some nobody gave Queen B grief about her (perfect) body. She handled it gracefully, she is the Queen after all. Queen B does Queen B, nobody does it better. Fionne does Fionne, same, move on haters.

MagicMix · 08/10/2018 22:10

All the people calling Fionne a 'feminine man' and claiming this is mutually exclusive with 'trans woman' need to check the Stonewall transgender umbrella. Bigots!

I've followed Fionne on twitter for ages - as far as I can see, they're (the TAs) are denying Fionne "trans" status because Fionne refuses to say TWAW.

Fionne identifies as trans - has gender dysphoria, but refuses to insist TWAW, refuses to repeat any of the ludicrous science-denying trans-ideology. So Fionne is attacked. Pretty viciously.

Fionne, if you're still reading, solidarity to you - and please feel to correct me.

PersonWithAVulva · 08/10/2018 15:49

The abuse Fionne is getting for being themselves as a gender non conforming male, is disgusting. They won't be happy with anything other than total capitulation either, like usual.

This whole thing, denying Fionnes 'right to exist' quite literally kind of reminds me of how that crow insist that women are 'cis' whilst saying noone should ever question gender identity. Yet many women, and most feminists on here that I have seen, say they are not 'cis' as they do not identify with femine sterotypes and such, but they are yelled at that OF COURSE YOU ARE CIS YOU BIGOTTED CUNT, DENYING YOU ARE CIS IS DENYING THAT TRANS PEOPLE EXIST, AND SAYING YOU WANT TO ERADICATE THEM.

TheFemaleGaze · 08/10/2018 15:42

❤️ Fionne.

SophoclesTheFox · 08/10/2018 12:37

This might be a derailment, but I just had a thought

Furious with Fionne, because Fionne exists

When trans supporters get so extremely exercised about feminists "denying their existence" or "denying their right to exist" when we disagree with them, is that because they themselves really, really want people who disagree with them to just vanish?

Does their thinking go: you disagree with me, I wish you wouldn't exist?

And they think we think the same thing?

I'm not sure if I've had a revelation or a random brain burp.

ToeToToe · 08/10/2018 12:31

Prior is another very angry person.

Furious with Fionne, because Fionne exists. That's all.

Pythagonal · 08/10/2018 11:56

Joss Prior is still having a go at Fionne this morning 😣.

Datun · 08/10/2018 08:49

Does he seriously not hear himself? A non trans person berating someone for representing trans people (which they're not) whilst doing exactly the same.

He just wants Fionne to say it out loud. The very definition of a bully.

He's such an angry, angry man.

anunseemlylovefordustin · 08/10/2018 08:35

What a beautiful man, inside and out. I hope he stays strong and continues to forge his own path. THIS is what true gender non-conformity looks like - being comfortable with yourself and looking however the hell you want to look (and absolutely rocking it, btw) without that somehow meaning that you now have to be forced into being a woman. He is himself, and wonderfully so!

Gileswithachainsaw · 08/10/2018 08:19

Wtf is wrong with him. This reminds me if when LM decided to tell a trans person he was transing wrong and and he really was a woman even though the trans person had probably been trans for as long as that twat had been alive .

They really cant cope with trans people knowing biological reality can they.

And fionne well he looks great just as he is.

waterlego6064 · 08/10/2018 08:06

Someone already has threatened Fionne with ‘the wall’, which has been reported.

KatVonGulag · 08/10/2018 08:06

HE MAKES ME SO CROSS

KatVonGulag · 08/10/2018 08:05

Every individual speaks only for themselves including you Harrop.

BettyDuMonde · 08/10/2018 08:02

I can hear him saying those words to Fionne in the same, slow patronising way he spoke to Posie on TV.

Using up time the way self-important men use up space on public transport (and the world).

SophoclesTheFox · 08/10/2018 07:55

That is an unusual twist for Aidey, who normally just likes to position himself as the expert over what women should think and do. He's branching out!

"gender traitor" is a fucking disgusting thing to say to someone. Next up, Fionne will be reported to the Eyes and it's off to the wall. Do these people hear themselves??

LittleLebowski · 08/10/2018 07:54

It just shows how nasty a lot of these activists are.
Going on about how badly they are harrassed, literal violence and the like whilst doing exactly the same to people under their own bloody umbrella who don't toe their own party line. Look at Joss Prior dismiss someone defending Fionne's personal view as a bunch of conservative attention-seekers from the older generation want to feel special. Nasty piece of work.
Of course Haddock tried to be intellectually dismissive and patronising by saying people like Fionne have 'internalised self-loathing'.
And exactly as you say Badger, the irony of him saying this does not go as far as giving Fionne the right to speak on behalf of all trans, non-binary or gender diverse people. when that's exactly what he's trying to carve out his 15 minutes by doing.

waterlego6064 · 08/10/2018 07:50

It’s hilarious that Harrop says Fionne doesn’t speak for all trans people, while positioning himself (as a cis, gay man) as someone who speaks for trans people.

Badgerthebodger · 08/10/2018 07:15

God Haddock’s such a smug bastard. I’m not sure on what authority Haddock, a gay man, speaks for transgender people Confused By his own logic he ought to wind his neck in
