Last night some lunatic on Twitter doxed Posie Parker, exposing photos of her family, her children, her home address and lots more personal information.

Thankfully quick reporting from Twitter users got it taken down

Let’s hope the police are onto this.

I noted a fluff piece on Eamon in the sidebar of shame yesterday, damage limitation.

JoggerBottom · 01/10/2018 09:44

I doubt This Morning would invite her on to discuss the harassment of women.

IdahoJones · 01/10/2018 09:43

Doesn't this prove that TRAs are a danger to children and women? And it's a male pattern violence problem.

Molokonono · 01/10/2018 09:42

"She said that users on Facebook and Twitter should have to disclose their true identity"

This hasn't made Jess wonder why all the 600+ rape threat makers knew how to threaten rape to a woman:adult human female?

Interesting.

FermatsTheorem · 01/10/2018 09:38

Posie's commented below today's Times article, saying that she's been doxxed - so hopefully this will get some mainstream media attention. Lots of supportive replies, including many saying how well she performed in the TV interviews.

viva

I have to go now, but thank you for that. I agree.

OrchidInTheSun · 01/10/2018 09:25

Also, underneath the photo of Aimee looking at their watch, they posted a photo of a girl guide pin saying that they were proud to be wearing that this week. I think the implication is pretty clear.

R0wantrees · 01/10/2018 09:23

Also last night on Twitter Maxine Peake was accused of a hate crime because she followed Womans Place

Michael Biggs
Associate Professor in Sociology and Fellow of St Cross College wrote in May following the harrassment and bullying of WPUK and women who wished to attend the Oxford meeting:

users.ox.ac.uk/~sfos0060/FreeSpeechOxford.pdf

"A meeting was held on 25 April 2018 to discuss proposed changes to the law on gender recognition. The proposed legislation will eliminate sex-segregated spaces and activities, from women’s refuges to competitive sports. In a democracy, people have the right to meet to discuss—and indeed oppose—legislative changes. This should be incontrovertible. I am appalled that a small number of students at Oxford used extreme measures to stop this meeting from being held....
(concludes)
I have entered this debate not because I am a feminist but because freedom of speech is one of the highest values of a democratic society, and the basic foundation of university life.
Transgender activism poses a grave threat to freedom of speech. I think of the young MPhil student who had to disguise herself to attend this meeting because she feared the reaction of fellow students. This is the generation that we have educated."

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 01/10/2018 09:21

(derail, but, it's relevant, honest)

placemats - Aimee returned to social media (hurrah) and posted a picture of herself, wearing a stonewall t-shirt, checking the time on her watch, standing in front of an open loft ladder in a house which would have a similar layout to the house in which her father committed horrific crimes against a 10 year old girl - for which he was convicted and given 22 years. The picture is, at first glance, the usual guff that Aimee posts. However, if there is a sub-text, it is properly chilling, and, if I was a police officer who'd investigated the abuse that poor girl was subjected to, I'd be keen to have a wee chat with Aimee.

I'm not one for conspiracies and secret codes, but...fucking sinister.

TheCraicDealer · 01/10/2018 09:18

Well this just prompted me to finally fill in the GRA consultation. Whatever pondlife was responsible for that twitter thread- slap it up ya.

raisinsraisins · 01/10/2018 09:17

Also last night on Twitter Maxine Peake was accused of a hate crime because she followed Womans Place. She then apologised and said that it was only so that they could message her and that she has now unfollowed them!

hellandhairnets · 01/10/2018 09:16

She does need to involve the police and I'm assuming she will. This unhinged person put her and her whole family in danger and targeted her children.

Yes, it was someone pretending to be her husband. Pictures and vids of her kids , and address and map. Weird and obviously fake messages of husbandly "support" for her - (probably about as good at their impression of womanning this person is) and saying things like if you're ever in the area, come over for tea.

It was a clear directive for attack monkeys and I hope PP and her family are all ok today and get protection. It was pretty obvious some TRA would do something like this after her Sky interview because she nailed it. We all know that these people have narcissistic rage but to do this is absolutely sick.

It proves EXACTLY why women should be worried about them and why they shouldn't be anywhere near our spaces. Yet again, they demonstrate their sinister behaviour for all to see.

LiverpoolReSisters · 01/10/2018 09:06

This is despicable.

We stand with Posie, and all women who fight against those who would abuse children and women in the name of so-called equality and human rights.

We see them, and we aren't afraid.

AdultHumanFemaleBirdsEye · 01/10/2018 09:04

Poise and family Flowers

I can stand with Posie and Mumsnet in the supermarket.

I will wear white with my soon to be delivered Adult Human female T-shirt every time I visit the supermarket. I have no social media, so will upload pictures of myself buying Birds eye products here.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 01/10/2018 09:04

Are there any specific MPs, celebrities, companies or political figures who have spoken about online bullying? We need to contact them and see what they say about this woman centred terrorism.

OP posts:
deepwatersolo · 01/10/2018 09:01

Whoever mainstreamed the idea that men should be affirmed in their kinks and they should be hailed as proud and brave for expressing their true paraphilic selves, no matter the body count played quite a number on society and women in particular. But we will win this. What entitlement, to believe endangering a woman and her kids for voicing an opinion is acceptable by any measure. But we see you, guys, and we will win this.

PerryPerryThePlatypus · 01/10/2018 08:56

The police are probably more concerned with how to deal with this without making the TRAs look bad rather than the threat to PP and her family.

Bowlofbabelfish · 01/10/2018 08:53

I wish they wouldn’t use words like bullies and trolls actually.

Putting the location and identifying details of someone’s children online like this implies that there is a threat to them.

That’s far, far beyond bullying or trolling. It’s intimidation, and harassment and abuse.

I would be very interested to see what the police response is to this. And what Twitter’s response is. Because if putting up a billboard is seen as a hate crime and a threat to someone’s children is not we have a big fucking problem

Appalling. It shows that TRAs are vile people.

Times Article today:
'Trans movement has been hijacked by bullies and trolls'
by lucy bannerman
(extract)
"A worthy movement to help a minority group has become a form of McCarthyism in bad wigs and fishnets, thanks to a bunch of bullies, trolls and humourless misogynists. Feel too daunted to venture an opinion on anything “transgender”? Great! That’s exactly how the bullies like it. Dare to discuss the complexities and contradictions thrown up by their absolutist identity politics? If the screams of “transphobe!” don’t shut you up, perhaps a call to your employer demanding your scalp will. Or to the police, bleating hate crime.

Perhaps the greatest trick they’ve pulled so far is to convince parts of the population that transgender people are too fragile to walk past a poster bearing the word “woman”, while at the same time being so terrifying it’s better to say nothing at all than to risk offending them. It’s nonsense, of course.

The “they” I’m referring to is not transgender people. (Though the bullies will pretend that it is.) I’m referring to the “trans activists” — some sinister, most joyless, and more than a few who don’t even identify as transgender themselves — who delight in “transplaining” to the rest of us the rules of this new, glittering utopia, where spaces must be shared, safeguards dismantled, disagreement decreed to be hate speech, and women must not be allowed to gather to discuss laws that will affect them.

And that’s fine. Bullies will be bullies. Trolls will be trolls. It’s the cowardice of the institutional response that’s astonishing. Girlguiding. Politicians. Billboard companies. Credit Suisse. Goldsmiths University. All willing to capitulate quicker than you can say “transwomen are women”." (Continues)

Flowers Posie.

breastfeedingclownfish · 01/10/2018 08:43

"But please, don't post things like "I stand with Posie". Given that we're all anonymous, it opens us up to ridicule"

What are you on about? We can easily back her while staying anonymous. And again, stop with the 'us' while finger wagging

Stay safe Posie. I stand with you.
