Aimee Challenor welcomed into the Lib Dems

Just for quick context, Aimee Challenor resigned from the Lib Dems under a cloud of shit, after Aimee's father was charged for raping a 10-year-old-girl while dressed in a nappy, and Aimee continued to employ him as an agent.

So there is currently an investigation by Veritas into what happened, this has not been completed, but already welcomed with open arms into the Lib Dems.

Sickening.

Will the LibDems adopt TERFblocker, the software apparently created by AC/DC? I assume, given the numbers involved, that a number of LibDems were blocked.

LurkbeaLady · 01/10/2018 16:22

Fermats raises a good point, is "Aimee's" place of residence still the Coventry Green Party HQ?

Is Tina still a member of the Green Party? I'm not suggesting two people living in the same house can't be members of different political parties but as Fermats pointed out surely this is a conflict of interests?

And I know the Green Party states you can't be a member of any other political party when you join. I don't see why the Lib Dems/Scottish Green Party would be any different.

R0wantrees · 01/10/2018 16:00

There's now all sorts of odd statements about AC remaining a member of the various separate parts of the Green Party eg NI, Scotland etc

Confused

Excellent article. It highlights how dangerous Challoner Junior and trans ideology are as well as the failings of the Green Party.

CriticalCondition · 01/10/2018 15:40

Thank you for posting this R0wantrees.

Well worth reading in full.

'IN ENGLAND'S GREEN AND PLEASANT LAND'
article by Beatrix Campbell

(extract)
"The Challenor case is an arrow to the heart of Britain’s twisted sexual politics.
Somewhere in England there is a girl who was raped, tortured and electrocuted by a well-known local Green Party figure in Coventry, David Challenor. During the criminal trial his victim described his rituals in which he dressed as a little girl or a baby in a nappy, at a house used as an official Green Party address, in 2015. For anyone, this case is cruel and cautionary – for Greens it is a huge political crisis.

We know that nothing is more important than community respect and validation for the survivors of sexual crime. This girl didn’t get it. Her lonely journey to the criminal court was vindicated – at the end of August the perpetrator, David Challenor, received a 22-year-sentence.

But the child was unsupported by the people who mattered most, her intimate community, the Challenors - David, his wife Tina and Aimee Challenor. All three were well-known Green Party activists. It was the abuser they supported, not his accuser.

The police interviewed members of the family in October 2015, including Aimee Challenor, then a teenager about to transition from a boy, Ashton, to a girl, who was about to become an ambitious young trans activist. By 2017 Aimee Challenor was Green Party equalities spokesperson and a party candidate, and this year pitched into the party’s recent deputy leadership election.

The sins of the father are not the sins of the son or daughter. Yet Aimee Challenor’s trajectory as a political trans activist and synchronises with the police investigation into David Challenor. Twice she appointed her father to be as election agent - there are no criteria regulating agents, according to the Electoral Commission – and she insists that despite the criminal charges she was ‘building bridges’ and attempting reconciliation with her father.

The party leadership was not informed until David Challenor was sentenced in August. A couple of senior individuals in the Green Party knew, however, but didn’t pass it on. David Challenor was a volunteer for Coventry Pride, who took swift action when he was charged in 2016 and barred him . Members are now asking whether there was anything else Aimee Challenor didn’t disclose.

The scandal has scalded Green Party leaders. An inquiry has been launched, David Challenor has been expelled. When mutiny among party members forced Aimee’s suspension in early September, she quit, accused the party of transphobia and blocked Caroline Lucas on Twitter as a trans exclusionary radical feminist.

But the Greens need to do more than lament the guile and cruelty of David Challenor and the party’s misfortune in being gulled by the Challenors. The party’s initial official statements about the scandal pathetically paid more attention to Aimee Challenor’s need for support than the vindicated – but traduced – child.

Conducive context
The party should ask itself whether the party’s hard-line pro-trans policies and associated bullying provided what sexual violence scholar Prof Liz Kelly calls a ‘conducive context’ that shielded the Challenors from scrutiny." (continues)

AC is still a Stonewall advisor.

In terms of creepy, the dad's address was on something someone posted about him being Green election agent. I looked it up on Google street view (like the Daily Mail I am nosey about the value of people's houses) and was pretty freaked by the sight of some weird scarey masks in the front window. I really hoped that poor girl, who took 3 or so years before she came forward, did not have to pass them everyday. Creepy, actually chilling. I really hope the LDs do not give AC an active role. There must be a strong chance she too is damaged in some way. All the evidence suggests she had an awful childhood. Even though she is 21 today (random fact, spotted via the twitter link) the LDs have a duty of care.

R0wantrees · 01/10/2018 14:45

Looks like the are getting into all the Parties so they can influence policy, rather than about political allegiance.

There are a number of trans rights activists who have been in the political parties for some time, influencing policy.

It seems that for many, the main focus has been 'trans-rights'.

There is much to suggest that in this single focus, cross-party co-operation is very healthy.

Kyanite · 01/10/2018 14:41

Harrop used to be a Tory.

Looks like the are getting into all the Parties so they can influence policy, rather than about political allegiance.

Seems some suggestion on Twitter that Aimmee Challenor is tweeting from Global Greens LGBT+ account?

Estellesylvia · 01/10/2018 14:03

Photo is from Aimee Challenor’s Instagram.

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 01/10/2018 10:18

Fermats- you are bang on the money. Common sense has just left the building. This person is persistent, and all over social media. I can’t see this person changing tack now. (No almost pun intended.) I beleive political parties have a duty of care and they should not be allowing somone like this in. I know on the ground these issues come down to wether local councillors know about this kind of thing- but they should be informed, they are in positions of power. If we feel our local councillors don’t we should know-tell them. It can be done in a nice way. I think I was struck for not sticking to she in relation to this person.

DuckingGoodPJs · 01/10/2018 09:18

Aimee will join the LGBT Lds and that will help the obvious lack of lesbian representation
Nah, I think they were just short of furries. LibDems have secured the furry vote! The political strategising is truly amazing.

tobee · 01/10/2018 08:48

I'd still question whether The libdems have to accept AC as a member.

Juells · 01/10/2018 08:44

Her political career is dead; her trans activism is discredited and it is likely that her local party will see her as a liability rather than a boon.

No, AC is teflon

FermatsTheorem · 01/10/2018 08:40

Pam in answer to your list (all good concerns to raise - privacy, not falling prey to guilt by association - definitely stuff that should be avoided) I'd say here's why we should be worried.

(In what follows I am reluctantly sticking to MN's guidelines about pronouns, because I want this point to stand, not be deleted on a technicality).

Back in November 2016 the local branch of Gay Pride (I think it was) suspended David Challenor pending the results of the court case. At that time Aimee Challenor was a trustee of the that local branch. Aimee's mother was also plastering her facebook with "David is innocent" posts. So for Aimee to claim now that in 2017 when she used David as election agent she had no idea that he was awaiting trial for charges of rape of a 10 year old, when Aimee was a trustee of Pride, and shared the same house as her mother and father, certainly stretches my credulity.

Secondly there's the issue of what Aimee has been involved in in her own right as a person forming Green party policy.

  1. She and David jointly worked on terfblocker, while the Challenor family residence was listed as the official local address of the Green party - and held all the membership records. That is a serious conflict of interests.

  2. She and David worked on youth policy including the recommended "affirmation only, don't tell the parents" model which drives a horse and cart through good safeguarding practice. If Aimee had any ability to learn from this debacle, at this point she would be distancing herself from this policy at this point - but as far as I know she is not.

These points - about possible dishonesty, dubious choice of election agent, data protection, and safeguarding policy - are why the Lib Dems should not be touching this person with a barge-pole.

PillowOfSociety · 01/10/2018 08:38

Estelle, when is that Twitter post / photo from?

Bloody hell.

My previous comment was struck

Estelle Thanks for the picture

Repugnant

Here’s Aimee posing in front of a loft ladder.

Dangerous individual.

What was that old black and white film again when the town children had psychic power a the power to kill by thought?

Village of the damned (Midwich cookoos is the book) Actually a good read and the old black and white film is worth a watch.

SPOFS · 01/10/2018 04:46

I feel bad for the Lib Dems here as there isn't much they can do other than welcome her warmly...

My local LD candidate is a lovely woman, she doesn't deserve to have to answer questions about this whole shitshow. Sad

tobee · 01/10/2018 02:49

Interesting pp are saying the libdems have to accept any members. Certainly, Arron Banks was knocked back from trying to join the Conservative Party recently. Obviously different parties, so maybe different rules? They seem to be able to chuck people out of parties. I'm sure plenty of people will join parties without proper checks but AC hasn't flown under the radar, surely?

Turph · 01/10/2018 01:37

Aimee should have been chucked out of the Greens simply for their use of disposable not environmentally-friendly nappies.
