Aimee Challenor welcomed into the Lib Dems

Just for quick context, Aimee Challenor resigned from the Lib Dems under a cloud of shit, after Aimee's father was charged for raping a 10-year-old-girl while dressed in a nappy, and Aimee continued to employ him as an agent.

So there is currently an investigation by Veritas into what happened, this has not been completed, but already welcomed with open arms into the Lib Dems.

Sickening.

(I should clarify: suspended pending a decision from the group moderators, with everyone else warned to treat each other with respect)

The people calling women terfs/transphobes/terrible human beings are still in the group.

SunnyInGrimsby · 02/10/2018 19:19

Typical of the Fibdems.
All things to all men.

Keepyourdiscussiontoyourselves · 02/10/2018 19:13

Quite, R0wan.

If this group was (for example) Liberal Woman Chat UK, it'd be depressing and disconcerting to see women suspended for raising concerns, about silencing of women.

But this is the women's wing of the lib dems. The faceb group is literally the Lib Dem Women's way to communicate with members.

Express concern about silencing of women and you are out.

Sorry, forgot to bold the quote above,
Sarah Brown and Zoe oconnell are active on the original thread, calling women terfs and transphobes, respectively.

I've seen the LibDem TRA tag-team in action on social media.

It's quite effective.... relentless & bullying.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 02/10/2018 18:47

I have sent a join request. But I'm not sure that they'll let me in as they (presumably?) can see that I also follow fpfw, wpuk, we need to talk and posie (as well as Vince, Nick, Jo, Layla and other ld groups).

May 2018 Andrew Gilligan comment about Zoe O'Connell

"Latest bullying transgender complaint (against David Davies MP over We Need to Talk meeting) has been swiftly rejected by parliamentary standards commissioner"

Do join the women's network, Black, if you haven't already.

I think there needs to be an open discussion on this, and it will help if there is anyone left to make the argument {hollow laugh}

Keepyourdiscussiontoyourselves · 02/10/2018 18:41

It looks like Sarah Brown was added to the women's network group sometime after the original post. Sarah Brown and Zoe oconnell are active on the original thread, calling women terfs and transphobes, respectively.

Things that will get you banned from lib dems womens network:

Saying you have no political argument with transitioned transwomen, but are concerned by self id.
Posting jane clare jones pieces.
Linking to evidence transwomen have offending rates in line with men.
Saying you are concerned with the silencing of women.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 02/10/2018 18:41

Oh FFS that's my party.

FekkoTheLawyer · 02/10/2018 18:23

It's like a contagion.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 02/10/2018 18:23

Bloody hell. The LibDems might just as well wind up now. No way I'll be voting for them in the foreseeable future.

R0wantrees · 02/10/2018 18:19

LibDem trans activism is very powerful within the party.

Keepyourdiscussiontoyourselves · 02/10/2018 18:15

Just to add to this, three women have just been suspended from the lib dem women's network (a group which mainly operates via a closed facebook group), for politely saying they were concerned by Aimee Challenor's joining the lib dems, given Aimee ran the mcarthy style terfblocker blocklist.

Obvs "polite" is my reading of it, but the resulting thread was very polite, had many cries of "TERFS" in return, was then closed by an admin in response to complaints.

And now the women posting on it (who were the subject of complaints) have been suspended from the group.

well

Challoner Junior's party hopping (Challoner Junior said in an interview that they were a member of the Greens because that party best aligned with their values or some such rot) reminds me of the old Groucho Marx saying: "You don't like my principles? Fine. I have others."

HandlebarTash81 · 02/10/2018 06:14

Yeah I get that too. Completely.

InWomensProtection · 02/10/2018 00:25

@Handlebar I know what you saying but I don’t want to hear it (not in rude way).

I used to stay away from threads when discussing about child abuse. I’m way too emotional about this topic that I don’t (not won’t) want to reason with any logic beyond the victim, in this case that young girl.

I would never make a good therapist they would be handing me tissues to sob in.

Is it wrong that I don’t care about Aimee upbringing, as all I think about is that poor child it reallly upsets me. The article in metro dated on 28th August makes me feel sick as she soon enough got over her shock sadness crap.

God if it was me, the last place I would be is with smug smile right in lime light. I be doing everything ducking possible to make sure that child had ever dam bloody support available and working on making sure shit like this nevers happens again.

So seeing Aimee picture everywhere is a reminder of that girl.

I don’t care if it was her father, I would be utterly ducking ashamed, but the set up of all just makes them all wrong.

PussinWellies · 01/10/2018 19:16

God, iGnore me. Just realized I’m probably being monumentally dim.

The Lib Dem’s have a long standing reputation for support for men who commit sexual abuse. Cyril Smith was allowed to continue to rise in the Liberal and then Lib Dem parties, despite Steele knowing the truth about at least some of the allegations, and Clegg refused to look at the party’s actions to see if they should hold people to account or even change policies. They campaign for the right to anonymity for people accused of sex crimes so that others won’t be warned and other victims won’t be encouraged to come forward.

Ucantpo1ishaturd · 01/10/2018 18:31

I have emailed the Liberal Democrat’s expressing my disgust, this is one vote they’ll never see.

SPOFS · 01/10/2018 18:20

Sadly, there doesn't seem to be any responsible adults in Aimee's life. Their mum and dad are a waste of space, and the adults guiding AC in the GReen Party were just using AC to make themselves look woke.

Aimee needs to take a step back and process the messed up childhood they had. Sadly, nobody will tell them this. Sad

BiologyMatters · 01/10/2018 18:12

That loft ladder picture is all kinds of fucked up.
