I've come across so many of these threads at the moment on mumsnet and I'm interested/intrigued in them because I have never seen trans women (or men) as a problem. They don't affect my day to day life at all. In fact I don't believe I've ever met a trans woman in real life, that I know of anyway.

I'm struggling to understand why it makes women so angry and also why men seem to be so universally hated on here in general. I've just been reading a thread about how they fear women and how they fear them having a voice and doing better than them. This just does not ring true for me - the men I know I just not like this!

Anyway I'm prepared to listen and find out more about this subject. I don't think you will actually peak trans me though...

Another thing that peaked me but I can't even work out why

Why if I search the # trans on Twitter are my eyeballs assaulted with numerous "woman" aggressively wanking? Their penis. To be clear?!

I don't know why but I was just trying to educate myself and instead have these images burned into my brain beyond my wishes.

NopeNi · 01/10/2018 16:45

One annoying part is that actually it would be important to be able to see actual female offences - do they rise in the porn era? Could women become proper threats statistically?

I personally doubt it, but we'll never know for sure looking back, because people born as male are being recorded as female.

Same with female autistic rates - how many women are being diagnosed vs how many autistic men are identifying as women?

These stats are being skewed, and there's no other form of identity (like age or race) that we'd let people play around with.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 01/10/2018 16:20

Yes Sarah, it is, isn't it. And yes - recorded as a female crime, will skew stats (as will any other of this type of person who then go on to commit similar crimes) to suggest that there are more "women" paedophiles out there. Women rapists, ffs. Women (natal women, with no penis) can't commit rape as in UK law it is defined as penetration with a penis. Transwomen though - they can, if they've still got their fully-functional penis, whatever the fuck they call it. It's a fully functional, male sex organ - that can be weaponised. It is not a female sex organ and never will be.

All this transpeaking nostalgia is giving me the rage all over again.

The cotton ceiling was also a workshop run by Planned Parenthood of Canada. Advising men on how to get sex with women who don't want to have it with them.

Stonewall will not confirm that homosexuality means same sex attraction. Transgenderism is deeply homophobic. The fact that they use gay rights as an analogy is sickening.

Welcome to the summit. The area is thin and sometimes it's difficult to breathe.

Thank God for alcohol. You'll need it.

Sarahconnor1 · 01/10/2018 15:26

Thumb the picture from that article is startling.

Let's be clear this will be recorded as a female crime, the victim might have been instructed to use female pronouns when talking about this person and Brooks will no doubt apply to be housed in a female prison. On release will want to access sex segregated places.

Go on then, see if you can peak trans me...
MonkeysMummy17 · 01/10/2018 15:25

xiao wow... These are two of the most messed up sentences I've read in a long time

How is my permanently attached strapon functionally any different than a cis woman’s detachable strapon?

When you are a woman, everything you have is a woman’s body part, including your cock (or clit, or ladycock, or click, etc).

I actually can't believe some of the things I have read today, it's crazy what's going on seemingly under ours noses but barely being talked about let alone reported on.

Honestly, eyes have been opened today!

CharlieParley · 01/10/2018 15:17

MonkeysMummy17 Is this the point where women are supposed to get back in their box and let the men decide what they want/think/feel?

Yes

MonkeysMummy17 · 01/10/2018 15:05

It really smacks of trying to trick people into something by clever use of language and being angry that they're call out on it.
Trying to find loopholes to exploit a situation, and to get one over on people (namely women).
Is this the point where women are supposed to get back in their box and let the men decide what they want/think/feel?

Xiaoxiong · 01/10/2018 15:03

MonkeysMummy this article contributed massively to my peak transing: When you say "I would never date a trans person" it's transphobic, here's why

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 01/10/2018 14:03

Something else that might help (apologies if it's already been posted)
metro.co.uk/2018/10/01/trans-woman-pretended-to-be-a-boy-to-groom-a-girl-7994533/?ito=article.desktop.share.top.facebook

This is an abuser, a child-rapist, a paedophile. But because now a transwoman, this is being labelled as a female crime. It isn't. It's a male crime but it will go down as female because trans, and will skew statistics to increase "female paedophile" crimes.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/10/2018 13:26

I remember when the cotton ceiling thing was playing out as an argument between a lesbian porn actress and a "lesbian" who was attempting to persuade the actual lesbian to hire them to be in their lesbian porn, because of course men who buy pretendy lesbian porn are just dying to see penises in it. The phrase that stuck in my mind was "it is hate speech to only be attracted to cis women". First of all, attraction isn't speech by even the loosest definition, and secondly, fuck off you rapey creep.

Even the lesbian who was being harassed pointing out that if she did hire the people pestering her she wouldn't make any money didn't sway them, because apparently porn is "activism" now.

The whole cotton ceiling debacle really is a one stop peak transing shop, because there's not a woman alive who hasn't heard that whining, wheedling, bullying tone before, and we all know that the people who do it don't have vaginas.

NotANotMan · 01/10/2018 13:15

it's apparently a sleight against trans people if a gay person says they don't want a relationship with someone who is the opposite sex because it implies they don't accept them as being what they identify as?

Exactly. Preferring a certain type of genitals (not to mention the rest of the sexed body; trans ideology insists that genitals are the only difference between TW and W despite that being patently false) is not a sexual orientation, it's a fetish. Honestly. Being a lesbian who only fancies females is a fetish, and a phobia. It's so disgusting. Because obviously it's only actually lesbians who are experiencing this in any number, because TM who are attracted to men get zero response from gay men obviously, TW who are attracted to men still get partners and TM who are attracted to women are generally still included in lesbian circles. The only group who are both abusive and coercive enough to try this rapey shit and also have a ready socialised victim pool (lesbian women) are heterosexual males aka lesbian transwomen/transdykes

MonkeysMummy17 · 01/10/2018 12:36

charlie thank you for explaining the peaktrans, it makes sense now and I think this thread has in fact peaktrans me!

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 01/10/2018 12:34

Currently sitting breastfeeding a baby that I grew in my womb and gave birth to. Not that that is what defines me as a women but it certainly means I must be one!

TRAs would dispute this. Being a woman is nothing to do with biology, according to them. Even using the term 'breastfeeding' is considered by some of them to be 'transphobic' and some healthcare services have removed this word and put 'chestfeeding' instead (which isn't even biologically accurate or possible).

I think these extreme anti-woman activists really rely on actual biological woman being so busy doing what you describe - raising children, running homes, that we won't speak up and they've tried to get changes to the law by stealth.

I'm so glad you came here to find out more. I'm still breastfeeding DD2, I don't wear make up and rarely put any time into my appearance or dress these days. According to some TRAs that makes me less of a woman than them (because it's all about gender not sex) even though I'm BREASTFEEDING! Biological sex matters. That is the heart of the matter. We can't identify out of female biology, menstruation etc.

CharlieParley · 01/10/2018 12:23

Rightlikeagirl

So, peaktrans refers specifically to reaching the moment where someone who typically:

--has always supported LGBT rights

--has nothing at all against (post-op) transsexuals

--has supported post-op transsexuals being protected from discrimination by giving them certain rights, such as gaining legal status as if they were the opposite sex via the Gender Recognition Act or by having gender reassignment protected in the Equalities Act

--mostly had no problem sharing a toilet with the few genuine transsexuals (depending on presence or absence of past trauma involving males)

--who typically believes that post-op transsexuals is who the mantra "transwomen are women" is about and who while not necessarily agreeing on a biological, material level, is nonetheless willing to concede that they may be thought of as similar enough to women thanks to being post-op and mostly "living as women" for decades (whatever the latter means)

They are, in short, trans allies.

And then comes the moment where they learn that "transwomen are women" now applies to physically unaltered males the very second they declare themselves women. No social transition required, no medical transition required, not even crossdressing required.

And this happens via one of the many examples given above.

You reach, in other words, the moment where you are confronted with

--an extreme claim made by trans rights activists that seems so outlandish,
--a demand they make that seems so unreasonable,
--an individual example of a transwoman (and it is almost always a transwoman) doing something so horrifying that is excused, explained away or minimised by trans rights activists

that you find yourself going Hang on a minute...what? and first you think No that can't be right, I must have misunderstood. and then you realise that you didn't and you find yourself thinking This far and no further.

That is peak trans.

We typically fall off a cliff edge thereafter. Because once you start questioning one aspect, the whole ideology and its implications for women and girls unravels fast.

MonkeysMummy17 · 01/10/2018 12:17

So every woman has to delicately defend/ explain why they aren't interested in a particular person without implying its anything to do with who the person is, how they look, what genitals they have or whether they're sexually attractive to that woman?

Are women expected to be grateful for any and all attention, and therefore accept the advances of any person because if they don't they aren't inclusive? Is freedom to choose no longer a woman's right?
Has the world gone crazy?

MipMipMip · 01/10/2018 12:02

I was always under the impression that people are free to fancy whomever they wish, and obviously that feeling isn't always reciprocated but it's apparently a sleight against trans people if a gay person says they don't want a relationship with someone who is the opposite sex because it implies they don't accept them as being what they identify as?

There was a thread on here yesterday by a hetro woman who has been kicked out of a feminist group because she only likes men born male. Apparently she isn't "inclusive."

waterlego6064 · 01/10/2018 11:36

Xiaoxiong Your friend’s experiences illustrate that entitlement perfectly!

waterlego6064 · 01/10/2018 11:35

...WAS the one who was transphobic...

waterlego6064 · 01/10/2018 11:33

They have to block debate because they all contradict themselves and each other. One that I was ‘debating’ with the other day told me that my belief that gender dysphoria exists is transphobic. She doesn’t believe it exists at all and said it was offensive to accuse tw of being mentally ill. I said that there is lots of evidence of different types of transpeople with differing needs and motivations. I was about to tell her that both Stonewall and Susie Green of Mermaids believe gender dysphoria exist, so perhaps she wasn’t the one who is transphobic as she clearly isn’t towing the party line.... but she unleashed a tirade of swearing at that point so I left it there. 😆

MonkeysMummy17 · 01/10/2018 11:33

So that brings women back full circle to not being able to say no, I don't fancy you, to people we aren't interested in? Because it's too difficult to believe that lesbians can't possibly not want penises in their lives, they just haven't met the right one yet?

Absolutely bonkers. Genuinely, with all the progress that has been made by women, for women and now we're back to defending why we have a right to choose who we date or don't date. I feel a bit speechless.

BlooperReel · 01/10/2018 11:33

Not had time to RTFT but I know just the backstories around the following people have peak transed many people I know:

Karen White
David Challenor (while maybe not 'out there' as Trans, he reported dressed in over sized girls clothing while torturing his poor victim).
Marie Dean

Xiaoxiong · 01/10/2018 11:30

Monkeys you're understanding it perfectly.

The reason that it's so perplexing is that it flies straight in the face of any progress that has been made on rape culture in the last few years.

Demanding that someone must consider them as a sexual partner is straight out of the rape culture playbook.

Interestingly, years ago a friend of mine had a man come on to her, when she said she wasn't interested he demanded she have sex with him and he would "turn her back". That same friend told me a few months ago of a lesbian in a bar in Stoke Newington who told a trans woman she wasn't interested, who was then accused of transphobia and told that sleeping with this person would "reeducate" her and she should "open her mind".

These are basically the same incident, twenty years apart, as far as I'm concerned. And they have at their root a male sense of entitlement to female bodies.

waterlego6064 · 01/10/2018 11:29

Littlepearl yy re sports. Plus, someone whop has participated in sport as a male for any length of time, will have benefited from the far greater investment and interest in men’s sport than exists in women’s. Male sportspeople have more help to get where they are by dint of their privileged position in sport.

waterlego6064 · 01/10/2018 11:27

Yes Monkeys, some people see it as transphobic because we shouldn’t define people by their genitals. And also, a transwoman is a woman anyway, so what they have is in fact a female penis, or a large and pendulous clitoris.
