I just need to say that today has been a brilliant day.

It's the most optimistic I've felt in a long while. Just saying!

Well MN can sometimes identify banned users from things like IP addresses, email domains (corporate email), posting style, and other clues, but there's no magic bullet on that front.

MarklesMerkin · 28/09/2018 10:38

TurfClub Okay thanks, that's what I thought but then MN seems to be able to identify previously banned users at times so wondered if TW was the same, easy enough if people use the same email/phone number etc but people would obviously use different ones anyway.

TurfClub · 28/09/2018 10:21

"Out of interest, if Twitter bans someone "forever", are they prevented from creating new accounts? Surely that's not possible?"

I'm not sure if they do anything, but inherently it's impossible, the most they have is an email address & phone number to identify you by, I use a disposable sim card, myself.

You are doing a sterling job, TurfClub. Keep up the good work.

Our favourite medic on that thread:

  • Dr Adrian Harrop @DrAdrianHarrop · 10h

It’s like a load of 40-something year old wives, mothers and home-makers living out some sort of twisted and really hateful version of Mean Girls*

I've no idea what 'mean girls' is, but leaving that aside ... can we put that in for the 'sexist and ageist comment' of the year award (though there's probably some stiff opposition)

You mean, 'women with a lot of experience of being a woman, in a structurally sexist culture'?

MarklesMerkin · 28/09/2018 09:17

We can all self-id as 'lawyers'. 'Lawyer', 'woman', these are not protected terms. 'Solicitor', 'barrister', these are.

ChiaraRimini · 27/09/2018 21:29

Turf club-amazing detective work
So now u can self-Id as a lawyer?

Said 'lawyer' has been getting advice from @SadistHailey.

@SadistHailey advises:

"Hey, have you reported the tweets specifically deadnaming you and misgendering you? Have you put in the report that the tweets were directed at a marginalized group and specified that they were directed at you? Did you also mention in the "more information" field 'deadnaming'?"

"If you want, you can slide into my inbox. Twitter expects tweets to be reported in a very specific fashion, which is unfortunate, but if you do it right you can sometimes get results."

AngryAttackKittens · 27/09/2018 07:15

That shiny person certainly comes across the the very picture of good mental health!

If anyone knows more about companies law, fraud, etc., than me, they might like to have a speculate about what said 'lawyer' is doing with all the companies. and perhaps have a word with the Registrar at a minimum.

This is the lawyer's brother (?) who variously identifies as Peter, Jamie, Jayme, and other names, who posted quite a threatening post towards Graham Linehan: twitter.com/cascadeofshiny/status/1045065337308426241

Re the 'lawyer', I got forced to delete the thread (and blocked for 12 hours) because it was supposedly 'harassment on the grounds of gender identity'.

Which makes it rather difficult to comment on someone who repeatedly incorporates companies using different identities with the intention of never filing accounts or tax returns because the companies get struck off for not filing confirmation statements.

I suspect said 'lawyer's' twitter may have been briefly blocked as Graham Linehan reported for harassing wife's business.

AngryAttackKittens · 27/09/2018 06:41

Talcum X! I like her.

arranfan · 27/09/2018 06:39

SH is a lawyer (not a protected term).

CrackpotsArePots · 27/09/2018 04:59

Oh! I remember us talking about SH. I remember not being able to find any record of SH being a barrister or solicitor. So, not a lawyer then, despite calling themself one?
