To my mind, definitionally if you murder your parents you are mentally unwell. This kid either has some serious psychiatric condition or was seriously abused by someone. Normal young people don’t murder their parents.

I'm not sure exactly where the best place for him to be is, but I know it isn't in a female facility.

I suspect this was deeply premeditated and the month before his 18th Birthday was not by accident. We'll probably never know if there was any abuse in the home. It's quite possible that he has severe mental health/personality issues and has been abused in some way.

I suspect he has deep mental health problems and may be better in a mental health hospital than prison (but don’t know how that works in USA)

It sounds like a disturbed violent individual looking for a cause. It could very easily have been a violent religious cult persuading him to go and blow himself up.

I wonder if it’s a case of him feeling ‘not right’ and latching onto transgenderism as a possible reason, the number getting lots of affirmation that his parents won’t understand him?
