Women on the left are responsible for austerity

I've heard it said that women on the left actually support and are therefore in some way responsible for austerity. This is because both Labour and the Tories support austerity. Therefore any woman who supports Labour, or the Left in general, also knowingly and consciously supports austerity and are therefore also responsible for the 1000s of deaths of disabled people caused by austerity. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

They will be allowed beads. And finally, we will have a noncircular objectifyable definition of 'women' again. women: those who wear beads.

lisamuggeridge · 18/09/2018 15:20

Caroty when your radical politics largely consists of student identity formation and is only used to abuse women and justify preventing women discussing ACTUAL REAL WORLD issues, its not radical, its just straight up dull dull run of the mill narcissism used to harm women. So it cant be feminism or anything closely related. Cos abuse of women is NEVER feminism nor is putting womens kids at risk and cheering it on cos it makes you feel pure. See someone about that. Am off foraging.

lisamuggeridge · 18/09/2018 15:17

Barneleuse you cant actually address a consensus on welfare and local authorty reform, while our welfare system collapses and whil elocal authorities collapse without discussing those systems. Sorry. Thats going to mean discussing HOW political consensus was held up and that might mean metioning that our trade unions and the labour left spent eight years abusing women to prevent them discussing that consensus cos only hte left will do. Its not about respect for difference its about women being abused so major system failure, 100k deaths, and equality being rolled back isnt discussed at the end of a political consensus. Now while I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to prioritise left wing identities over this, I wont be and that the demand is continually made, usually abusively, usually gaslighting and often with a pile on, is a DEMONSTRATION of what I am saying. As for the rest of this madass thread. Caroty was kindly demonstrating what happens when stupid people construct a false identity for themselves at the expense of real issues, and also demonstrating. Re: Foraging and agriculture, I am going to go and pick some vegetables and find a dead squirrel for tea but I think sproglet is going to be mad because she wants gammon

And as onee of the women terrorised whose name is known it is a problem when we are thrown to violent activists and our kids put at risk because people who identify as the left and identify as having the right think that is solidarity. Its not. Its not the difference between suffragist and sufragettes, its the difference between demanding people dont discuss system failure that has spo far killed 100thousand people because you want to identify as somehow representing opposition to it and er...not doing that. Power dynamics. Not equal.

All the pretty bison with beads (will we still be allowed beads?) plaited into their hair.

deepwatersolo · 18/09/2018 15:12

And on and on it goes. When it stops nobody knows!

Well, Angry, it will stop at latest when the Bisons in Drag inherit the Earth. So we have at least something to look forward to, I guess.

AngryAttackKittens · 18/09/2018 14:50

Can someone else take this one? My coffee is looking so much more appealing than another round of EnragedAndApparentlyConfusedGroundhogDay.

Branleuse · 18/09/2018 14:46

OK, so how does it work out that WP is shit , but there are a lot of great women in WP and its not their fault that WP is shit, but that the left is shit, and that anybody that is a left woman is also shit and responsible for austerity, and THEN also claim that purity politics is wrong?

How about we concentrate on the ones that actually ARE in power, rather than the ones who are actually doing their best to fight it, even if they do get things wrong. I see so many would be anarchists who seem to have a neverending fascination for calling out the left, and rarely the right.

RedToothBrush · 18/09/2018 14:37

Right. So she is smearing someone and undermining a campaign group in this critical time without providing any evidence to back up her claims.

I think what I've understood is that there is a difference in opinion on approach but agreement generally on the majority of values. And that there is a need for multiple groups who represent a slightly different group, have slightly different priorities and slightly different approaches to all coexist and work towards the end goal.

Let us not forget the difference between suffragettes and suffragists.

Ultimately both played a role - a different one - but arguably one without the other would not have succeeded.

AngryAttackKittens · 18/09/2018 14:36

It has been discussed, but unfortunately for the OP people do keep noticing that she's substituting what she'd like Lisa to have said for what Lisa actually said.

Not just you, Lurkakus. This thread has been half Alice in Wonderland while on acid, half unpleasant memories of gaslighting former boyfriends.

Branleuse · 18/09/2018 14:34

She literally quoted lisa, she didnt misrepresent anything. Not on this thread anyway (didnt finish reading the entire other thread, but that was about something else anyway). This is a brand new thread and she asked to discuss this particular statement, which apparently cant be done because why?

IAmLurkacus · 18/09/2018 14:32

AngryAttackKittens

Thanks for that, that was my take on WTAF is going on. I’m relieved to know I am actually managing to keep up! Smile

AngryAttackKittens · 18/09/2018 14:21

Carrot: I'm objecting to Lisa saying A.
Us: Lisa actually said B.
Carrot: So nobody disagrees with Lisa saying A then?

Or

Carrot: I think Posie is Islamophobic.
Us: She might be or she might not be but we should have this out within GC feminism, not kick Posie out of GC feminism.
Carrot: So you're all racists too then.

And on and on it goes. When it stops nobody knows!

deepwatersolo · 18/09/2018 14:11

Right. So she is smearing someone and undermining a campaign group in this critical time without providing any evidence to back up her claims.

You conveniently forgot to quote the part about Lisa saying she has no issues backing her claims up any time if this is required. Anyone knowing her you tube channel will take her by her word. So...

Branleuse · 18/09/2018 13:58

oh well the sycophants are out.

Rebecca36 · 18/09/2018 13:56

I don't get any of that I'm afraid.
We haven't had austerity yet and we may not. If we do it will be because of mismanagement by present and previous government - and it won't last.

AngryAttackKittens · 18/09/2018 13:54

Misrepresenting what someone has said and continuing to do so even after the fact that you're misrepresenting them is pointed out is an act of aggression.

CarrotyO · 18/09/2018 13:53

Ok well I don’t recall making any ad hominems or making any points really other than questioning and disagreeing with certain points made

OP posts:
AngryAttackKittens · 18/09/2018 13:52

Comments, multiple. If you thought they were fine when you made them then posting them for you again isn't going to change your mind (and also I am not anyone's secretary).

CarrotyO · 18/09/2018 13:51

Copy and paste the comment you found aggressive

OP posts:
CarrotyO · 18/09/2018 13:50

I have questioned, and disagreed with, her stated views and smears

OP posts:
AngryAttackKittens · 18/09/2018 13:49

Sorry but I disagree, the way you've spoken to and about Lisa in both this thread and the last one has been extremely hostile and aggressive.

CarrotyO · 18/09/2018 13:48

Our Muslim sisters

OP posts:
CarrotyO · 18/09/2018 13:48

Those tweets were not questioning religion, they were bashing Muslims

OP posts:
CarrotyO · 18/09/2018 13:47

angry I am not smiting Lisa, I am questioning one of her assertions that she made in the previous thread and again in this thread. I haven’t said anything nasty to anyone

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 18/09/2018 13:47

But then when one heads into the realm of criticising patriarchal religion, they find themselves still being called racist by their own peers, months later....
