I don't think I would fit in there as my partner was bio female and identified as gendefluid when I met her so I never really lost my partner to it. However looking back the whole thing was highly manipulative and inconsistent.

LadyBrianAdultHumanFemale · 25/09/2018 17:50

You might find the trans widows thread helpful xx

QuestioningItAllDay · 25/09/2018 17:48

Thank you.

I was a trans ally not so long back, vehemently after dating a partner on the trans spectrum but after reading MN I'm starting to question How I feel.

LadyBrianAdultHumanFemale · 25/09/2018 17:45

Questioning there's some good background to this particular event in the article linked on this thread:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3375995-Venice-Allan-interview-with-Feminist-Current-the-more-of-us-that-stand-up-the-less-they-can-attack-us
The meetings are a really good way to listen to some amazing speakers and ask questions, as well as enjoy a load of female solidarity.

QuestioningItAllDay · 25/09/2018 17:40

Hiya,

Can I ask exactly what this talk is about? I'm in Manchester and am taking more of an interest in issues but I just want to be clear.

Thanks

So we will know it's you Betty when you arrive late. Smile

On reflection I might just go in a bit earlier to miss the rush hour. Decisions, decisions.

Those driving in please remember the bus lanes in Manchester and get the latest updates on your sat nav - I say this because I've been caught before. I recommend NOT pre booking a car parking space as it is pricey, you are sure to get a space and it's cheaper.

BingBongSong · 25/09/2018 12:09

I will also aim for Picadilly, but don't know Manchester very well so might get lost!

BettyDuMonde · 25/09/2018 12:03

I’ll be there. Will aim for Piccadilly but I’m a notoriously late person so no promises!

PetraDelphiki · 25/09/2018 10:50

Come to london!!!!

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 25/09/2018 10:44

Hi Silentcrow, I'd be happy to meet up. I think I am going to drive in and just pay for parking if it is central. I have emailed the organisers to ask whether you can park outside or not but not had a response yet.

Shame that they have to keep the venue secret in this day and age... but it reminds me of my old raving days in the 90s when the venue was not given out until the very last minute!!

silentcrow · 25/09/2018 10:27

I'm planning to drive in as the trains back from Manchester in the evening are awful - I understand why they're keeping the venue secret til the last minute but it's not great for parking anxiety! Would be great to meet up, am also coming alone.

placemats · 25/09/2018 10:22

You will be notified on the night.

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 25/09/2018 10:13

Does anyone know where the venue is.. the website doesn't seem tosay

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 25/09/2018 10:11

I'm very keen to come to this, and happy to meet up beforehand /after with any other MNers as i'll be coming alone

placemats · 25/09/2018 10:05

Actually, if I'm meeting up with others then I don't need a text. I'm just worried I'll miss them. I must organise a contact no from those I'm meeting with.

placemats · 25/09/2018 10:03

I'll be in Piccadilly Station at around 6pm. I take it we get an email beforehand regarding the venue? I'd rather have a text to be honest as I can't seem to get my most recent email on my phone. I will be meeting up with a few others there but everyone is welcome.

BingBongSong · 24/09/2018 21:30

I'm looking forward to it Smile. I posted one of the FPFW videos on my FB, have been very quiet about this on social media, and got quite a positive response!

silentcrow · 24/09/2018 21:26

Just a wee bump, since it's this week! Is it sold out, do we know? My badge hasn't come yet Sad I may yet scrawl "Radicalised By Mumsnet" on an address label...

YesItsADebate · 18/09/2018 12:11

Oi! Forget your yacht, I need my swimming pool put in first!

@Miketv yes I’m sure we can flog you some badges on the night.

Miketv · 18/09/2018 11:41

Can you sell them at the event do you think??

SwearyG · 18/09/2018 11:39

So trim my fringe @YesItsADebate

Badges available from ManFriday's online shop - we need to sell some as the next payment on our yacht is due Wink

UrsulaPandress · 18/09/2018 10:43

Which badges ?

YesItsADebate · 18/09/2018 10:39

@SwearyG you could try it without the ponytail. It would give your hairdresser something to talk about Grin

MN signal is the badges AFAICT.

Hyppolyta · 18/09/2018 10:38
