The term "men in dresses"

Trans-excluders like to say that they're absolutely fine with boys who don't fit in with gender stereotypes. And I, not one of you, am fine with children not fitting gender stereotypes. But I don't think that is true of all of you. Why is "man in a dress" used as an insult by so many of you?

Sorry, maybe I’m missing something?

I like reading the FWR board and I’ve learned so much, and understand the bullying tactics of the TRA. But to me, this thread seems to be ganging up, and brings back lots of bad memories of me being bullied when I was younger. If you want to silence certain Posters and threads , then there must be better ways of doing it.

When DS was much younger and clearly doing a double-take I said to him 'it's just a man in a dress'. I wanted to avoid a repeat of the scenario when he said very loudly in a busy city centre 'that fat man is eating a double burger'. So I can see 'men in dresses' could be diplomatic and considerate of others feelings.

ps Avocado & honey sounds dreadful. I'm on mid-morning snack of a packet of mini cheddars.

Wow! Mind blown. As a corollary, I wonder what effects are afforded women who don trousers

We get told we should make more of an effort to look prettier.

" I wonder."

you don't need to wonder. You know it. It's fine for trans identified men to threaten violence and death, to use horrible insults and scare tactics, because they are , you know, men.

Women should shut up and 'be kind'.
Yeh right.

*BOY George

KimCheesePickle · 12/09/2018 09:23

I didn't realise that dresses had such magical powers, that the merest donning of one could achieve complete transmutation of the entire genome of a male body from XY to XX and the atrophication of male organs.

Wow! Mind blown. As a corollary, I wonder what effects are afforded women who don trousers 🤔

PositivelyPERF · 12/09/2018 09:22

Kurt Cobain was the man in a dress for me. Showing my age now.

Big George, before he came out as a twat.

I'm trying, but don't get the breakfast discussion. Haven't been around much lately. What's going on?

sausagebap · 12/09/2018 09:21

I wonder if all the ‘be kinder, mean women’ posters also spend time on say, DataLounge, or Reddit, or Pistonheads telling men to be kinder to trans-identified males. Or, indeed, if they try telling the trans-identified males who spend their time telling women to die in fires, get raped, get stabbed, to try and be kinder.

I wonder.

What about me?

Nicknamesalltaken · 12/09/2018 09:19

Ahh the ‘80s. So many beautiful men in dresses and make up.

Kindness seems to be a bit one way here. Surprisingly not

Ereshkigal · 12/09/2018 09:16

Kindness in all things is to be encouraged.

Like kindness to women? See my earlier comment. Maybe it's kinder not to lie.

howlsmovingcastle84 · 12/09/2018 09:16

The dress does not maketh the woman

This is different from men who wear dresses to try to 'pass' as women as they have gender dysphoria. In the latter case, it is cruel, if factually correct, to call them a 'man in a dress'. Kindness in all things is to be encouraged.

Which is why gender critical women are not in the habit of walking up to transwomen and saying you're just a man in a dress.

They are, however, concerned with the issue that a man wearing a dress makes him a woman.
