Lily might well identify as a young woman, but she thinks and behaves like a teenager.
She sees kindness from adults as validation, when it is just kindness. We tolerate immature guff from our kids because we know they just don't have the smarts, yet.
Her peers and she talk and talk the sort of chat you might hear in the school 5th form common room.
Sadly for Lily, she's smart, but not the manipulative genius of her imagination. Lily thinks she's in control of all this, using folk's intolerance of her nonsense as a weapon. A delusion from her immaturity and arrogance.
Can you imagine if we had documented online all the idiocy, the immature and egotistical thoughts we had when we were teenagers? And that our now employers and friends could read them? Cringeworthy stuff.
Except lily isn't a teenager, she's physically at least an adult.
