A twitter account is saying that stickers in Manchester Oxford Road station have razor blades behind them put there by TERFS. If you are terfblocked you won't be able to view.

Sorry that was for 404.

AbsintheFriends · 05/09/2018 23:08

In the First World War the Germans used to bayonet nuns and babies. Or was it the British? It was widely reported at the time anyway, so whichever it was I'm sure it was true.

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 05/09/2018 23:07

So many typos!

Turph · 05/09/2018 23:07

Oh and the single piece cut-throats are both pretty expensive and unsuitable for barbershops where (obviously) a new blade is used per customer. I guess you could dunk them in some Barbicide but I don't think that would do much for their longevity. So you're talking rubbish

BettyDuMonde · 05/09/2018 23:06

Firstly, I hope no one has actually been hurt (but this is a 40 year old urban legend, so I will await the police report)...

Secondly, while I admit geography is not my strong point, Oxford Road Station is rather a long way from Charlotte, North Carolina, no?

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 05/09/2018 23:06

Are you suggesting women, many of whom are mothers, are putting “cut throat razors” behind stickers to protest their diminishing of their human rights? Really?

I am utterly shocked.

Icantreachthepretzels · 05/09/2018 23:06

How could you fit a cut throat razor - as seen in a barber's shop - behind a sticker? And not have it noticed.
404 you have gone from ' easy to conceal - would just look like the sticker was put up imperfectly' to 'a cut throat razor - they have pretty biog blades.' I'm afraid the two statements are mutually exclusive.

It is, however, possible to cut oneself across multiple fingers with a large sheet of paper. Or to cut oneself like that simply by sticking your fingers into the blade of your lady shave.

Not sure that peeling a sticker (presumably requiring nail action - and unlikely to come off in one piece) and accidentally encountering a rogue cut throat razor blade would result in the kind of injury we see photographed.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/09/2018 23:06

Every time a TRA posts something like this a little thought bubble should pop up to the side that just says "Lying".

arranfan · 05/09/2018 23:05

No feminist has put razor blades underneath stickers. Utter rot.

Were we all distracted by a bee during that lesson?

Worst hate group ever - we don't even pay attention during the lessons conducted in our radicalisation portal. Sad

ToeToToe · 05/09/2018 23:04

Razor blades under posters/stickers is an urban myth. Like poisoned sweets on Halloween.

Actually, a child did once die from a poisoned sweet on Halloween, in the USA in 1974. The child's own father Ronald Clark O'Bryan did it, and blamed Halloween sweets. Horrific story.

I don't believe for one second that the women distributing these stickers are putting razor blade under them. Not for one solitary second. (And I got a worse cut than that from a tin can I was washing for re-cycling the other week - funny how the tweets morphed from "very badly cut hands" to "minor cuts on hands" isn't it).

Turph · 05/09/2018 23:04

It's probably a straight razor, aka a cutthroat razor blade. Using in some barber shops.
Cut-throat razors are a single piece of steel. Aficionados have them, and they need sharpening, honing and stropping with a leather belt and various pastes. DE blades can be snapped in half of bought ready divided for use in a "shavette". I don't know what kind of blades would be longer. Carpet knife?

404NameNotFound · 05/09/2018 23:04

NameChangedAgain18 they did for Zoey, at least, no idea about Eryn.

NameChangedAgain18 · 05/09/2018 23:03

I do hope the police will be visiting them to take a statement.

NotTerfNorCis · 05/09/2018 23:03

404NameNotFound I saw MisErydactyl post what looked like a faded papercut across three fingers. Does MisErydactyl have a photo of the actual razors? It must have been a long blade.

404NameNotFound · 05/09/2018 23:02

dermymc that cut is Eryn's, she said she was absolutely fine. Zoey was also cut, and apparently pretty badly.

404NameNotFound · 05/09/2018 23:01

herfemaleness No, I do believe it. Straight razors are in use in some barbers', and they are often known as cut throat razors, because they were used for shaving in the days when barbers did bloodletting.

Turph · 05/09/2018 23:01

All the razor talk sounds like the kind of stuff you would learn from Antifa and molotovs and caltrops, they're not nice people.

LangCleg · 05/09/2018 23:00

Does expertise in razor blades come with a box of Kleenex?

Asking for a friend.

Dermymc · 05/09/2018 23:00

She is a special snowflake if that cut is "badly hurt".

HerFemaleness · 05/09/2018 22:59

It's probably a straight razor, aka a cutthroat razor blade. Using in some barber shops. They have pretty big blades.

lol, well played. Up until this post I thought you genuinely believed the razor blade story. Grin

LangCleg · 05/09/2018 22:59

What absolute bunkum. No feminist has put razor blades underneath stickers. Utter rot.

arranfan · 05/09/2018 22:58

They'd actually be easy to conceal behind a sticker

Actually, no. These urban myths are more understandable with flyers and posters than stickers.

There have been lots of rumours about this - like the university campuses in North America where social media reports claimed White Supremacists had done this with flyposters back in 2016-2017. Not a single one of those was substantiated after investigation. E.g., California Toronto

HerFemaleness · 05/09/2018 22:58

I can see faint lines on the fingers either side of the middle,,
