A twitter account is saying that stickers in Manchester Oxford Road station have razor blades behind them put there by TERFS. If you are terfblocked you won't be able to view.

"Try using coconut oil instead of suncream"
"Save ironing your clothes until after you've put them on"
"Yes you absolutely can microwave an egg in its shell toward boil it

Reckless endangerment of others, Mumsnet style!

Me too! Bad fortune stickers would be brilliant.

AndYetItMoves · 06/09/2018 20:34

About 30 years ago, my mother wallpapered the bathroom. It was a painful process apparently, and before she finished the last wall, she wrote: "Cursed be ye for removing this wallpaper" on the wall and papered over.

I was always going to be a witch, wasn't I?

thebewilderness · 06/09/2018 20:32

I am so excited that you are bringing forth a tiny tool!

Glad to hear it was another hoax. Not the tiny tool, the stickers.

ABitCrapper · 06/09/2018 20:31

Depressingly I can tell you that babywipes are pretty good at removing stickiness. I use washable cloth wipes/nappies and flannels on the kids but keep a non eco pack of Tesco wipes for cleaning emergencies. Although they do take the paint off IKEA furniture so be warned.

ABitCrapper · 06/09/2018 20:28

Have absolutely loved this thread. Although I am very disappointed not to get a PM, that will "learn" me for mainly lurking.

I am really taken with the idea of putting little notes behind the stickers.

Things like "Boo! It's the Spanish Inquisition!"
"Try using coconut oil instead of suncream"
"Save ironing your clothes until after you've put them on"
"Yes you absolutely can microwave an egg in its shell toward boil it"

OlennasWimple · 06/09/2018 20:27

Ooh, I just noticed that we are seguing into a live birth thread here Smile

Good luck with everything Toolshed - especially the gender assignation process after delivery Wink

arranfan, it is fortuitous isn't it? But that's what makes them real women: good at multitasking, impervious to pain, and never leaving the house without a full complement of cleaning products.

arranfan · 06/09/2018 20:14

a new product, bit like swarfega called "terfega"

How serendipitous that the very people to encounter these booby-trapped stickers were carrying sample pots in their bags! And that, despite their frayed and lacerated digits, were nonetheless prepared to remain there and wipe away every trace of the sticker and product.

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 06/09/2018 20:14

As a keen jam maker, stickers are the bane of my existence [well, during July anyway]. I usually have to soak in hot water, remove at just the right moment between loose enough to scrape off, and set hard 4 ever; then slide a knife up and down for 10 mins and then use some sort of abrasive to get all the glue off.

I imagine taking a huge bowl of very hot water around Manchester, and removing walls to soak in the water until just hot enough - was pretty memorable! Hats off to them. I'm sure they caught the photos and will be on here later to show us them.

PapaSmurfsSpareHat · 06/09/2018 20:13

Have not read the full thread yet, as Too busy laughing at this

“How large and thick are these stickers that they're concealing blades without betraying a bulge?”

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 06/09/2018 20:11

I believe it's a new product, bit like swarfega called "terfega"

It cleans away grease, stickiness and sex-based rights.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 06/09/2018 19:58

I had one on a boots picture frame

Under the cellophane and ON the glass

Ereshkigal · 06/09/2018 19:54

I would love to know this as it would be great for getting the labels off cheap high street shoes.

arranfan · 06/09/2018 19:47

Well, obviously there are no stickers. Because Erin and cat person assiduously removed them.

Asking for a friend definitely not for my own jam making , does anyone know what Sticky Goo Away product Erin and cat person were using to leave absolutely no trace of stickiness/adhesive behind after the sticker removal. answers saying "wishful thinking" may make me weep

The best possible answer would be, "It's this Eco cloth and here's a helpful link".

BettyDuMonde · 06/09/2018 19:46

(I had a couple of ‘Bloody Mabels’ this evening, actually. Now home to see to the dogs - middle age, thy name is Betty)

BettyDuMonde · 06/09/2018 19:45

Oooh! Early labour! How exciting!

Wishing you the best of everything toolshed looking forward to hearing what sex your baby is ‘coercively assigned at birth’!

AccioWine · 06/09/2018 19:45

Thank you, Betty ThanksGinWineBrew(I don't know what your favourite tipple is, so I thought I would give you some options!).

I'm very pleased (but not at all surprised) it was in fact a hoax. Who'd a thunk it, eh?

tillytop · 06/09/2018 19:40

Yes Toolshed talk about multi tasking! Grin Good luck with Baby Toolshed.Smile Brew

placemats · 06/09/2018 19:35

Floral

Seconded!

Ereshkigal · 06/09/2018 19:31

Good on BTP for following up too. Even if it was a deliberate wasting of police time.

FloralBunting · 06/09/2018 19:29

Toolshed, the brilliance of the female sex - sarcasm, good sense and preparing to bring an entire new human into the world all at the same time. You rock.

WhatTheWatersShowedMe · 06/09/2018 19:29

You... you mean the TRA’s are liars?

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 06/09/2018 19:27

Typos galore...realities of early labour.

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 06/09/2018 19:25

Had a quick chat with a lovely man on the ticket gates-he confirmed that the Transport Police attended yesterday evening ‘looking for anti LGBT stickers’ in the toilets. Not only were there no razor blades but they didn’t find any ‘anti LGBT stickers’ at all - all toilets were checked, men’s, women’s, disabled and staff.

I’m still half tempted to report the Nazi PMs to GMP for religious hatred but I love this city and know what the police have had to deal with in past this year or so, so won’t waste their time like the twitterati.
