Some lighter reading - gender non-confirming goths oppress trans people!

Given how much recent news has been horrifying I thought some of us could do with a laugh, so hear you go - Robert Smith's eyeliner is oppressive to people who want everyone to know that wearing makeup means you're a woman.

I don’t know a single goth-gendered person who isn’t “Queer” or non-binary. They both kinda come with the territory.

By the time I realized I was queer and nonbinary, I had called myself a goth for over a decade.

Isn’t your mid-twenties usually when you start getting the fuck over yourself, instead of writing articles so self-absorbed that nobody can be sure they’re not parody?

"For those feeling stress from being labelled or invisibled, walk around in a fursuit for a while. Nobody can tell if you're male,female, cis, trans or anything. Nobody can tell if you're black,white, yellow, red, green or burnt sienna. Nobody can tell if you're wealthy or poor. Nobody can know anything except what you present by your actions.

This is why some people react so strongly against fursuiters, because they can't get an instant read on the persons identity. But kids get it. They see a fursuit and immediately break into a smile and ask for a hug. They accept what they see.

Once I was at the fursuit parade explaining all this to a bemused non-furry. He asked, "Is that person male or female?"

I had to reply, "That person is a cheetah. The person under the cheetah could be either.""

But the trans goths want to be SpecialSiouxie, and are very upset that all the other goths are failing to recognize their specialness.

Good idea! Often Goths appear totally androgynous, anyway. Wasn't that partly the point of Goth? To appear undefinable?

Instead of arguing and oppressing each other, why can't the goths just have their own gender?

They are not men or women, male or female, masculine or feminine (or "femme", wtf? Can they not be arsed to say the whole word now the lazy arses) so there is no conflation of sex and gender. They are just Siouxsie.

Haha yeah I remember the Matthew Tripe stuff and the fact that Nikkis writing credits and royalties were in a different name for a while.

In an extra twist I modelled my hair on Nikkis in the 80's Grin

So, looking at this thread, what we can establish is that women are most definitely attracted to men who wear makeup. If they're good looking, and there's the rub, eh?

Also if they're not delusional gaslighting narcissists. That helps too.

They're not goths or trans...but man Brendon urie looks good in a spot of guyliner...almost takes me back to the glory days of the late 90s. I'm pretty sure I remember photos of blur in eyeliner
