Green Party Gender Recognition Act survey

I am not sure if this has been posted before, but since the AC debacle, I have been researching the Green Party's position on a number of things so that I can make up my mind on wether to vote for them.

I came across their survey on the Gender Recognition act (posted by AC on her Twitter feed)

twitter.com/LGBTIQAGreens/status/1031505576940003329

And I thought I'd fill it out, giving fair and reasonable answers. Well, turns out they dont want fair or reasonable answers. They have actually pre-filled out answers and pre-selected answers in the favour of the answers they want you to give so-to-say, so that you are encouraged to answer in the way they want.

AIBU to think this is outrageous (although not unsurprising)? It's not in the least bit unbiased and puts words in the mouths of people filling out the survey.

Coyoacan "I live in Mexico and we have a so-called Green Party that has never ever shown the slightest interest in the environment and a socialist party that was hijacked a few years ago and is now a party for the criminal classes.

Anyone who is interested in the Green Party's original purpose should start acting now if they want to party to survive."

I think maybe the green party in its current format does not deserve to survive.

I think green issues are so vital for our survival as a species. I've no idea why only one party would be interested in them.

I'd like to see a green party with realistic policies also interested in the down trodden trodden masses ( I don't consider myself one of them but I want to live in a fair society).

And also, vitally, a party not throwing women under the bus.

So the WNUTBGP.

Is there such a party we could import!

theOtherPamAyres · 08/09/2018 19:13

Has anyone written to the Green Party to ask them whether their survey is being managed properly?

The buck stops with Nick Martin, the Chief Executive of the Green Party - it's no use addressing enquiries to the politicians.

Funnily enough, the Chief Executive keeps a low profile and I can't find an email address for him. Now I wonder why that should be the case.......?

The whole consultation needs restarting. And completely obvious to anyone else rules need setting out.

Juells · 08/09/2018 11:14

that ensures you know they won't be sending a separate submission, so you can then edit and 'personalise' their response, so it doesn't look like spam.

It also leaves it wide open to abuse, as if they get responses they don't like they can just alter them.

MipMipMip · 07/09/2018 11:57

I've cheated and copied what I wrote on another thread. Grin

I have eventually found how to complain that the Green Party sending out pre filled forms could bias the GRA discussion. If you agree it could be prejudicial you can complain at www.parliament.uk/feedback.

Painted wings, sorry, I didn’t screenshot.

TimeLady · 06/09/2018 07:49

Get your members to send in the pre-filled form to you - that ensures you know they won't be sending a separate submission, so you can then edit and 'personalise' their response, so it doesn't look like spam.

Easy peasy.

MipMipMip · 05/09/2018 21:40

I was thinking about this. Would this surely not constitute a reason to restart the consultation - pre filled answers could definatly be seen as prejudicial, if not fraudulent.

Obviously the difficulty is going to be persuading the powers that be of that. Would someone setting up a change.org petition work? It would certainly raise awareness. Whoever set it up would need to be very clear as to why - restrictions of women's freedoms by reducing single space areas for people who need it etc. There will be a lot of woke people so it would need to be careful framed. References to certain individuals who are already taking advantage should figure prominently too.

I think more people engage with change than the official government petition site so would be better for awareness.

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 05/09/2018 18:38

These forms are set up to work across other websites - if you use the correct tag for the form field it will migrate across

I very much doubt the government consultation form is open to external websites to populate though.

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 05/09/2018 18:36

You would need admin privileges to put it on the website.

Again not hard, Google provides the code.

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 05/09/2018 18:35

Anyone here could, in fact, they're really easy to do.

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 05/09/2018 18:35

How did Aimee Challenor get the budget to get an IT professional to come in and create this form for the LBGblahAA+-@#Greens to create this specific form?

It's a Google form. No budget needed, they're free. I could knock you up that exact form in less than half an hour.

theOtherPamAyres · 05/09/2018 18:30

@
I would bet that AC did not even bother to tell GP HQ had done this. I bet AC has admin privileges for the FB page concerned too. I bet GP didn’t even think to revoke them yet. I bet GP don’t even know which social media AC has admin on

@ArkeNOTen Thanks for the explanation. I think the GP ought to reassure its members and the public about the integrity, security and supervision processes. Or at least tell us that they are aware of the question mark.

holidaylady · 05/09/2018 18:28

I've tweeted a few newspapers letting them know. Hope they pick up on it

deepwatersolo · 05/09/2018 18:18

Unbelievable. No wonder those who call the shots in the GP are totally lost, when somebody stands up, interrupts their 'transwomen are women' chant and says 'prove it'.

My hypothesis is that they don't want party members to think for themselves, presumably because they themselves can't.

ArkeNOTen · 05/09/2018 18:17

I’ve looked at the blocking thing and as an ex website coder I can tell you that you, me, and aunty Margery could set this up.

As for the form thing - it would take an interested sixth former to find out how to do that. It would just need to forward the info onto the official form. These forms are set up to work across other websites - if you use the correct tag for the form field it will migrate across.

I would bet that AC did not even bother to tell GP HQ had done this. I bet AC has admin privileges for the FB page concerned too. I bet GP didn’t even think to revoke them yet. I bet GP don’t even know which social media AC has admin on

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 05/09/2018 18:07

How did Aimee Challenor get the budget to get an IT professional to come in and create this form for the LBGblahAA+-@#Greens to create this specific form? Did Aimee do it? Maybe Aimee got whoever assisted with the blocking software to help. Maybe even dad since David Challenor has been out of work for ages but has been a computer technician for years. Maybe the fact that Stonewall is the only other org with a similar form, perhaps they were both Challenor ideas?

The Green Party one seems like an utter piss take out of the people filling it in, Stonewall's approach seems a bit less blatant.

Wanderabout · 05/09/2018 17:58

Also does the government consultation form have some way of verifying where geographically responses come from? How about how many times someone fills in a consultation? And would the greens as a third party website in the UK filling out responses 'for' people somehow subvert that?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 05/09/2018 17:55

That would need someone who knows web stuff to have a look at the source.code on the page...

Wanderabout · 05/09/2018 17:52

So is the Stonewall one linking you directly through to the government consultation somehow? Or are they submitting data on your behalf?

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 05/09/2018 17:42

There's also the question with the Stonewall one - how to they get the info to the actual consultation?

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 05/09/2018 17:41

*Green Party's system asks respondents to send the forms back to Green LBGTQWERTY. Stonewall asks respondents to go to the consultation website and fill in the form themselves.(

That's not true.

Stonewall's one you fill out yourselves also.

It's here: www.stonewall.org.uk/our-work/campaigns/come-out-trans-equality

Vickyyyy · 05/09/2018 16:34

The Greens one is just a Google forms, so they will have to C&P all of the answers across aftee editing and removing any GC answers

I highly suspect that anyone who uses answers different to the prefilled ones..will have their answers changed. They are just harvesting names and addresses IMO, so they can use them to fill in the consultation as different people.

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 05/09/2018 16:33

Oh, ignore that, the answer have appeared again! Just a glitch I think...

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 05/09/2018 16:31

I can't see the pre-populated answers any more - have they removed them?

Can anyone check for me?

Maybe as I've started it a couple of times, they've vanished?!
