Apparently Aimee's resigned. Unfortunately the link isn't working so I can't post it here, but I have it on good authority that it's genuine.

Let's hope so.

There seem to have been a lot of injunctions about the place don't there

Ereshkigal · 26/08/2018 23:23

And the absence of this story in many major news organisations is quite suggestive.

As is the pulling of comments on the Times article.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 26/08/2018 23:23

Ah Aimee hates SWERFS too. Colour me surprised.

UrsulaPandress · 26/08/2018 23:20

I can't possibly comment for risk of being banned.

bitheby · 26/08/2018 23:15

Survivors could be read to mean other members of the family affected.

I said on another thread but I was coached in gymnastics by someone later convicted of sexual offences against young girls. It wasn't obvious that that was what he was capable of/ probably grooming some of us for so proximity does not mean that you are aware.

littlbrowndog · 26/08/2018 23:15

Ffs that tweet

NorthernLurker · 26/08/2018 23:14

But you’re spot re the misogyny

NorthernLurker · 26/08/2018 23:13

I generally feel we should use the terms the individual wishes out of pure courtesy. If for no other reason that the irony in me using the terms they wish, even when the evidence is so much to the contrary as in this case, whilst Aimee would no doubt insist I am cis amuses me.

TriptychTwins · 26/08/2018 23:09

Aimee's a real peach.

Stonewall hate women, so I'm sure they will not be concerned

theOtherPamAyres · 26/08/2018 23:06

Is Stonewall comfortable with having such a deeply troubled individual on their Trans Advisory Panel?

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 26/08/2018 23:05

OK well as a statement that's a definite improvement

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/08/2018 23:01

Aimee will not be undertaking any official Green Party roles while the party urgently looks into the circumstances which allowed this situation to arise

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 26/08/2018 22:59

She should have been sacked. I don’t care how far the greens try to run from this it stinks. The incompetence is just gob smacking.

As her statement makes clear, she employed him as an election agent after he was arrested for sexual offences against children. At best that makes her incompetent, possessed of poor judgement and unfit to stand for public office. At worst......well let's leave that there.

Fucksgiven · 26/08/2018 22:44

What has she done wrong? I can't see why she is responsible for her father's crimes

littlbrowndog · 26/08/2018 22:40

AC ain’t resigned

Just stepping back for a bit

redshoeblueshoe · 26/08/2018 22:39

Aimee hasn't resigned, just stepping away from the Deputy Leadership Contest, I expect Aimee will just stay under the radar for a few months, then it will be business as usual

TriptychTwins · 26/08/2018 22:36

Unfortunately, it looks as if there are more victims.

ferntwist · 26/08/2018 22:27

That poor little girl. I can’t imagine how much she must have suffered. Good that Aimee Challenor has resigned and recognised the grave seriousness of the offences.

WinnieTheW0rm · 26/08/2018 22:25

Did anyone ever bottom out whether there were reporting restrictions?

Because victims plural does strongly suggest why there may indeed have been good reason for them, assuming they existed. And the absence of this story in many major news organisations is quite suggestive.

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 26/08/2018 22:22

Yes she also says victims. It suggests more than one.

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 26/08/2018 22:21

I think she is saying she is taking a break- if the Green Party has anything about them they would have said we’ve told her to go. For good. Permanently, and she won’t be back.
