Graham Linehan Appreciation Thread

I don't have any much faith in men these days but Mr Linehan is consistently proving himself to be more of a proper human being. I respect that enormously - and I truly appreciate it. So thank you Glinner, keep up the good work.

So much hate though on twitter.

Worrying that folk are more wound up by someone talking about someone else doing something horrific, and that someone else having an influence on safeguarding against that horrid thing.

Worrying that folk are more wound up by the talking about it, than the doing of the child torture and rape.

Graham is definitely reading this thread. I told him about it and I also told him some GC women seem to have been blocked, he said it is accidental (bot) and he'll unblock you if you can get your names to him somehow. He's really glad that some women feel supported with him speaking out, he said it was really nice to hear and that's what he wants to do, for women to feel supported.

Another Hear Hear from me too. Not only has he written some of the greatest comedies of all time, he is practically the only "celebrity " voice to unequivocally come out in defence of women and girls against the huge scandal that is self ID and all of it's safeguarding implications.

I'm not on twitter but I read glinner every day, because I think he's great and I wanted to post and show my appreciation.

I would also like to thank Linners - though I am very aware that women risk so much more (I had my name revealed on Twitter, thankfully it wasn’t a problem for me) and are more eloquent and knowledgable - as you say, he does acknowledge that and is not trying to “take over”.

Sadly we need men to do this, because honestly we are just not listened to in the same way. I even detect this bias in myself sometimes - unlearning internalised misogyny is hard...

Adding my appreciation. But Graham, if you are reading this, there are a lot of GC feminists blocked by you, no doubt by a bot or something but wonder if you can unblock them. Have been some tweets about it this evening.

Thank you from me too. I hope he reads this. I just love him because there is no other man doing this as far as I can see, or no other high profile person of either sex. I do think it's a test of people's true character whether they will stand up for something that's right when the thing that's right is really unpopular and will get you loads of abuse.

And he has a way with words. Just love:
