"A young politician and transgender activist who is running for deputy leadership of the Green Party was fighting for her political life last night after it emerged that she had used her father as her election agent even though he faced charges of raping and torturing a 10-year-old girl."

Does anyone have a link to the judgment in the care proceedings (mentioned upthread and apparently in the public domain)?
Interested too

LangCleg · 27/08/2018 09:59

Being from that background, but actively campaigning to remove safeguarding frameworks designed to try and protect people from abuse is another. It either says you lack capacity to understand the purpose and need for safeguarding - because of your upbringing or it says you don't value safeguarding frameworks - because of your upbringing.

Another fan of this comment here.

Look, I don't want to speculate about the inner working of the mind of any person from this type of extreme abusive background or how any trauma is affecting them. My hope for any such person is that they would be able to find help and assistance so that they themselves were ok, yes, but also so that they were able to lead an adult life without compulsively harming others. Everyone has the right not to have egregious harm caused to them and that includes women and children. No abusive background confers a free pass to cause harm to others, I'm afraid.

Bottomline saash, no one can stop you. Its already public. The argument should stand above any concept of the ownership of the point. Everyone should be focused on that.

Just be very mindful of context especially if selectively quoting though.

sashh · 27/08/2018 08:51

Does anyone mind if I tweet a couple of these excellent points?

TerfsUp · 27/08/2018 08:40

That little girl, a teenager now, will have to risk facing cross-dressing men, who count as trans according to Stonewall, in every previously single-sex space she might go into, if self id becomes law.

This encapsulates why I am against self-ID.

I just want to say how brilliantly put this is.

Redtoothbrush the alluded to, injunction was before sentencing

TerfsUp · 27/08/2018 08:27

Aimee has campaigned to expel women from the party, put injunctions on other party members, provided technological means to harass, stalk and dox others. Aimee has put some women in real physical or economic (threat to jobs etc) danger.

Well put.

CaitlynsCat · 27/08/2018 08:23

Any ideas what this is about?

"@ChallenorA your solicitor needs you to be in crown for 8.30 16 April2 013"

Crown Court?

Was Aimee in fact charged with cyber terrorism?

New statement from the greens, not sure if was already been linked.

borntobequiet · 27/08/2018 07:56

I have emailed Victoria Atkins thanking her for her stance.

sashh · 27/08/2018 07:55

aimeechallenor.uk/statements.html statement from Aimee.

Strangely it talks about 'victims' not victim. I suppose that might mean the child's family.

RedToothBrush · 27/08/2018 07:47

If Aimee wants to try and get an injunction, that would be an interesting case. Apart from the fact, that ship has well and truly sailed and an attempt at an injunction would do anything but Streisand the story more, I would suspect that The Times might stick an oar in terms of there being a public interest because Aimee happens to have had a significant role in a major political party.

I find it difficult to work out what grounds Aimee could argue that would counter that fully.

Thats the problem if you stand for public office or have a influential role in a political party.

Remember Aimee's relationship with David wasn't just a family one. It was also a political one. The act of employing David as agent creates a big problem for Aimee in terms of trying to use the privacy card.

I would be surprised if a judge would look too favourably on Aimee as a result.

sashh · 27/08/2018 07:25

I wouldn’t be surprised if Aimee tried to get an injunction on this.

That's been alluded to on twitter.

RedToothBrush · 27/08/2018 06:11

BettyFloop I disagree. Plenty of women too. The name 'Stella' is one that springs to mind with the phrase 'peer on peer'.

BettyFloop · 27/08/2018 02:52

Too many unfit people seeking power and being susceptible to and ignorant of abusive behaviours and techniques. How dare any of these peope think they have the right to demolish safeguards away from women and children.

^THIS^

The only addition I would make is male people.... We have to name it.

NotMeOhNo · 27/08/2018 02:41

AC and DC and TC sound like they formed an aggressive faction in the Coventry Greens. It would be interesting if whistle blowers steppwd forward to give their version of events. I can imagine that transwomen use their male privilege and victim privilege to steamroller over and intimidate any even querulous voices in the branch meetings.

Also the spelling of 'Amy' here is very cutesy and infant-like. An interesting choice given the context and the influences on the person. The smug, patronising expression in all the photos I've seen are at odds with your old school, diagnosed TS.

Ereshkigal · 27/08/2018 02:33

Victoria sounds quite sensible on this issue.

Ereshkigal · 27/08/2018 02:31

FFS. Fuck off Fox and Owl. Do they really think most readers aren't rolling their eyes?

Destinysdaughter · 27/08/2018 01:05

Nope The Guardian is reporting stuff like this today. A woman MP thinks there’s should be caution about giving medical treatment to teens with ROGD and all the usual suspects jump all over it...

lowtide · 26/08/2018 23:38

Be interesting to see if the guardian ever picks up on this.
BBC seem to avoid anything this controversial.

Badgerthebodger · 26/08/2018 23:33

I really had stepped away from gender criticalism because I have got an absolute metric fucktonne of shit raining on my head IRL right now and honestly just couldn’t cope but this has reeled me straight back in. I am appalled that we have got to a point where this is ok. If this was anyone else, any bog standard cunty woman, any man, anyone, there would be a national outcry. Why not now? Who pulls the strings? Aimee is so clearly not a person who should be within a million miles of a position where they advise on safeguarding. He hasn’t got a fucking clue what appropriate safeguarding looks like. Urgh.

SirVixofVixHall · 26/08/2018 23:27

Agree seafret. That little girl, a teenager now, will have to risk facing cross-dressing men, who count as trans according to Stonewall, in every previously single-sex space she might go into, if self id becomes law.
