"A young politician and transgender activist who is running for deputy leadership of the Green Party was fighting for her political life last night after it emerged that she had used her father as her election agent even though he faced charges of raping and torturing a 10-year-old girl."

"One things for certain. Aimee didn’t write that statement."

Well, for the first time we can at least deduce that DC isn't the puppet master...!!

IfIWasABirdIdFlyIn2ACeilingFan · 26/08/2018 17:45

Me too lowtide also, enquiries from both the scouting group and gymnastics club that allowed DC to be involved with their members.

IfIWasABirdIdFlyIn2ACeilingFan · 26/08/2018 17:43

This week, my father was sentenced to 22 years in prison for a series of serious sexual offences including rape and gross indecency.

Against a child Aimee!! You forgot that really important part. You also forgot the torture element. Why are you minimising his actions?

One things for certain. Aimee didn’t write that statement.

lowtide · 26/08/2018 17:40

I would like an enquiry as to how a major political party has allowed this to happen

OlennasWimple · 26/08/2018 17:37

At least SC has now stood down from any official role within the GP. Let's hope that the new leader(s) keep it that way

TerfsUp · 26/08/2018 17:34

That was a classic self-serving non-apology. It was all "pitiful me. I want privacy. Feel sorry for me. I didn't know. Pitiful me."

LikesAnimalPark · 26/08/2018 17:32

She says victims, plural. Wonder if there is more to come.

OlennasWimple · 26/08/2018 16:22

ItWas - someone posted a link to something that summarized how a number of animals (including a couple of corn snakes!) had been removed from the property because they were being kept in cramped unhealthy conditions. I can't find it now...

But yeah, perfectly OK for the Green Party to have close connections with someone who behaves like this - they don't lobby for improved conditions for animals or anything, do they? Oh...

BettyDuMonde · 26/08/2018 16:08

Actually, I think there are a couple of trans people who have called TC ‘mum’ on social media. It doesn’t appear that any of TC’s 5 biological children are trans identifying except AC.

I went to the complain online section @lowtide here www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/complain-online/ Just had an acknowledgement back so far saying the following:

"Thanks for contacting the BBC. This is to confirm we’ve received the attached complaint sent in this name. We’ve included the text of the complaint and a case reference for your records (see below).

Please don’t reply to this email because it’s an automated acknowledgement sent from an account which can’t receive replies. If you do need to get in touch, please use our webform instead at www.bbc.co.uk/complaints, quoting your reference number.

We’ll normally include the text below in our overnight report to producers and management of all the complaints and other reaction we receive today (with your personal details removed). This means it will reach the right people by tomorrow morning.

We’ll do our best to reply as soon as we can, but the time needed depends on the nature of your complaint. If we can’t reply as soon as we’d like (usually within 10 working days) we’ll let you know. For full details of our complaints process please visit: www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/handle-complaint/."

So I guess the more people who complain the better.

Where are people finding the information about the animal cruelty conviction and photos of them grieving a family dog? I can’t find it.

OlennasWimple · 26/08/2018 15:50

If nothing else (and personally I don't think that poor girl was a one off), there are multiple other victims who were in the pictures of child sex abuse that DC possessed

Have the Scouts made any statement at all? I couldn't find one just now

lowtide · 26/08/2018 15:49

How did you do that @ListsWonderfulLists

ListsWonderfulLists · 26/08/2018 15:44

I've complained to the BBC as well over their complete lack of coverage of this story so we'll see if I get the same dismissive response as the others.

lowtide · 26/08/2018 15:29

I would just like Aimee to take the fucking photos of her father down.
Can you imagine how traumatic it was for the victim in an ongoing case to see his face on twitter campaigning for “good” causes.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Aimee tried to get an injunction on this.
Really the GP have a lot of answers to give. If this were any other mainstream party it would be plastered over the news and we would be expecting an inquiry.
Instead you get some half arsed statement from them 3 days after he’s convicted.

Starkstaring · 26/08/2018 15:21

Orchid in the sun - absolutely agree on who is agreeing to operate on this individual in the circumstances.

CaitlynsCat · 26/08/2018 15:13

Carrrotsandcauliflower

CaitlynsCat That page no longer exists since you linked it.!

Yes not sure the reasoning or Aimee's arguments here.

Either:

Aimee knew but didn't believe the victim, and is now trying to cover this up

Or

Aimee didn't know in which case why cover it up?

happydappy2 · 26/08/2018 15:02

I read the 1st 30 or so comments this morning which were all brilliant-questioning the motives of men who want to introduce self id etc etc. Also asking why Aimee identifies as a woman yet has no sympathy with women concerned about proposed changes to self id & calls them terfs. I am shocked all comments have been deleted-just shows the trans lobby are very spooked by this, which they should be.

SirVixofVixHall · 26/08/2018 14:55

This is a very disfunctional family , with a father/stepfather who liked to dress up as a female child, who had a serious conviction for animal cruelty- a suspended prison sentence, which makes me think there was either a history of cruelty prior to that and/or that the cruelty was severe. The family living in a very cramped tiny two-up two-down that nevertheless had a torture chamber in the attic . TC knew about the chamber, yet we are supposed to believe that no-one else knew ?
The Greens thought it appropriate that this house was the local headquarters.
The greens also accepted AC as a possible candidate for deputy head of the entire party, despite a history of silencing any dissenting voices, particularly those of women, and a disturbing background.

CaitlynsCat · 26/08/2018 14:52

One of Aimee's siblings has identified as lesbian/gay, according to their Twitter.

OrchidInTheSun · 26/08/2018 14:44

I read that here SirVix but I don't know which one - it's not one of the younger two.
