NameChanged yes me too! The first mention wasn't too problematic but it seems to need saying over and over again since the words 'man/woman' and 'male/female' are no longer precise enough. Ain't no lady in this land who has a penis.Working in child protection for 30+ years I've heard many, many terms for genitals but never a lady penis. Cock, willy, dick, fairy, front bottom, jane, mary, bits, never a lady penis.

Slight diversion but, talking to women recently, a woman with many trans friends secretly went to one of the A Woman's Place meetings. She said she felt like she was letting her trans friends down badly by even attending such a meeting. She came out after the meeting asking herself why her trans friends had let her down so badly. Me too. However having spent yesterday making homemade 'women don't have penises' stickers with my DD she's thinking it's hilarious that this is how we now do arts and crafts during the school hols. We used to make greetings cards for the family, hearts, flowers, cats, puppies, meaningful messages....now we draw penises. She loves it, she gets it, she feels connected to girls and women.

It's not how I thought we'd spend her teenage years but it has given us an opportunity to talk about a lot of difficult stuff and shown her that her voice is just as important as anyone else's. So, positive in unexpected ways.
