Prompted by a poster on our previous thread (thanks woman11017), Magdalen has updated us on her health:
twitter.com/MagdalenBerns/status/1031267709168836608

I don't know if she reads Mumsnet, but THANK YOU, Magdalen. When I first started wondering about all of this, Berns' videos were the only ones that spoke a language I could actually understand, instead of this Queer Theory steaming pile of ordure impenetrable nonsense.

Outspoken, intelligent as fuck, strong, hilarious, and generally amazing. The kind of woman you're in awe of (and more than a little intimidated by - in the best way). Perfect combination for a feminist, especially one almost single-handedly taking on the internet. It breaks my heart that nature has dealt such a shit hand to her.

If you haven't watched her YouTube channel, just do it already.

Nothing but love for Magdalen, complete gratitude for her work, and wishing her well in this continued battle with her health. Flowers

Magdalen, I only know you from your videos which are awesome. So funny and insightful - they make the sharpest of points. Thank you for all you have done for women, your contribution is huge. Xxx

OhHolyJesus · 27/08/2019 19:32

Magdalen, you are a legend. It's hard to find the words to celebrate you, as MNers have said how important it is to shine sunlight on these issues, you are that sunlight, making us laugh and showing us the obvious truth and giving us strength to keep telling that truth.

Smart, witty, straight talking.

"Receipts please?!"

You marked a milestone for me, thank you so much, safe onwards journey. You are loved.

2BthatUnnoticed · 27/08/2019 00:43

Thank you Magdalen, for everything. You are an amazing woman who has done amazing things and I am so grateful, always. Flowers

I hope that someone is reading all the messages of love and appreciation of Magdalen that are all over social media to her.

Thank you so much Magdalen, for your intelligence, humour, courage and just downright wonderfulness. You have helped so many people to understand and find words for what is going so badly wrong for women.

You have made a huge impact on the world, which will not go away.

Voice0fReason · 26/08/2019 22:43

As with so many women, Magdalen's videos were one of the first things I came across in my understanding of gender.
Amazing woman.

Bollockingfuck · 26/08/2019 22:18

Magdalen you have inspired and empowered us with your insightful words.

Thank you for being your unique and brilliant self and I’m sure everyone here wishes for you to be surrounded by love, comfort and peace.

You are a fucken hero Magdalen and will go down in history as one who loudly proclaimed the emperor has no clothes, with zero shits given.

The UK is currently one of the world leaders in standing up for women's rights against the onslaught of trans activism.

I genuinely don't think we'd all be where we are now without Magdalen.

She has given so many of us the courage to speak the truth.

ArcheryAnnie · 26/08/2019 17:00

Watching Magdalen's videos gave me courage to be more outspoken too - so funny, direct, not taking any shit.

Magdalen - I hope you know how much positive change you've created in the world.

TerfTalk · 26/08/2019 15:49

Please don’t post those kind of rumours here. I appreciate that you don’t mean any harm. However, we shouldn’t spread those kind of rumours.

stumbledin · 26/08/2019 15:00

That twitter thread is NOT an update.

It was posted 2 days before the tweet saying she has moved to palliative care.

Sad

Magdalen is a warrior who has inspired many women to become involved the the fight to retain womens rights and spaces. Her blogs were what first made me realise that women had a fight on their hands to protect themselves and their children.
She is legend ❤

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 26/08/2019 13:57

Much love to Magdalen x

LumpySpacedPrincess · 26/08/2019 13:48

She's rockers, an inspirational woman.

JoeGargery · 26/08/2019 13:42

@Patnotpending it’s an old thread, recently added to.

littlbrowndog · 26/08/2019 13:26

To Magdalen again 💐🌺
Inspirational funny clever

Patnotpending · 26/08/2019 13:16

OP, that Twitter link takes me to tweets from 2018. Is there a more up-to-date thread you could link to?

ImpossibleNovelty · 26/08/2019 12:38

She is a huge inspiration. Her clarity of thinking and witty expression is unmatched, in my opinion. Her vidoes are what finally pushed me over the peak and into firm gender critical territory. Fuck glioblastoma, an utterly shitty thing to have happened to an amazing woman. Much love to Magdalen.

Qcng · 26/08/2019 11:36

There seems to be a rumour on Twitter that MB has passed away.

She is very sadly in palliative care but I'm sure she is still with us.

Sending love Magdalen Berns

♥️

BlackShirt · 24/08/2018 14:30

I admire her, I wish her comfort and rest after that incident.

Coyoacan · 24/08/2018 14:28

I know, her videos are amazing and she comes across as someone I would love to count among my friends. It is awful that she is sick

ChattyLion · 24/08/2018 08:03

Here it is: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/reform-of-the-gender-recognition-act-2004

Best wishes to Magdalen and very sorry that she’s been having such a very rough time. Flowers

MrsFogi · 23/08/2018 22:47

I had no idea she was ill! She is an amazing woman - her videos are so spot on.

All the more reason for the rest of us to raise our heads above the parapet, speak out in our own names - only 8 weeks and 1 day until the consultation about changes to the law comes to an end. Now or never really.

woman11017 · 23/08/2018 18:30

@MagdalenBerns
Had some more troubling fits yesterday and ended up sirens blaring to A&E in the a.m. - they were worried in case it was a stroke. Fitted some more on arrival, got sedated, spent night under observation but glad to be home now & my right side seems to have gone back to "normal".

Berns is poorly, and very brave, and inspires me, for one, to keep going with this, in her name. One of her tweets urging us to have courage was followed up by a woman in Pussy Riot urging the same.

She's also got a fine giggle. Smile
