So what is trans?
Where is the distress that might help us all understand and empathise?

The trans ideology is bat shit crazy if they think we have to indulge a want.
They are undermining transsexuals who truly suffer with their sex.
They are trivialising this. I don’t get it other than it has to be a desire to oppress women. Which it clearly is. But why are these blokes so scared of their own sex? That is a question I would love answered.

Non-binary folk are people who generally don’t have GD, and mostly don’t seek any medical intervention. Doesn’t stop them being trans or valid.

So how does a non-binary person differ from a boring old gender-non-conforming person? And are GNC people also 'trans' and 'valid' (whatever that means)?

So do you think it's right for a "transwoman" without GD (old world transvestite) being in an women's changing room?
I.e. my 10 yr old daughter being in a changing room with a male body

Or do you only think this should only apply to those with GD?

OldCrone · 15/08/2018 23:55

Trans folk use facilities they are most comfortable with

Do they consider their impact on other users of these facilities? Or is it just me, me, me?

Ereshkigal · 15/08/2018 23:50

Trans folk use facilities they are most comfortable with, this has been part of the EA and previous sex discrimination (gender reassignment) regulations. Prior to that it wasn’t legistated but still happened.

What about what women and girls are comfortable with?

Bronners78 · 15/08/2018 23:48

Those with GD have to undertake a minimum of a year of “real life experience”, which must be evidenced through supporting letters and changes to records such as with the DVLA, DWP, NHS and employers.

To obtain a GRC we have to take two full years and provide the same evidence.

During that period, we are, in your terms self ID.

Ereshkigal · 15/08/2018 23:37

What's "valid" about confusing personality with sex because you think everyone else is a walking sex stereotype and you are completely unique and special?

Truthmytruth · 15/08/2018 23:27

So is it acceptable that a non binary male who wants to be read as female goes into female spaces?
A bit of lippy doesn’t give them that right. Nor does sparkly shoes, nail varnish or a name such as Sue. You say this isn’t happening but it is.
Can you not see how self Id and the multiple trans gender terms are highly contentious?

The activists are busy working on our teens and tweens as they are vulnerable to suggestion and persuasion. This is the big masterplan. Teach them young and they will believe it. The drip, drip, drip effect.

What do you mean by valid? Or trans?
Most people are non binary. Gender identity is a feeling, maybe a 'want' . Sex is not a feeling. Sex is real. People can't be non binary sex. They deserve not to be discriminated against, however they present, but it doesn't mean everyone else should submit to all their demands. And it doesn't mean they've changed sex, because that's not possible.

Bronners78 · 15/08/2018 22:31

When it comes to acceptance, although we as a society are better than we ever have been, it is still difficult for close friends and family to accept and this rejection, or the fear of it, can be be the cause of significant anxiety.

Although I knew I was trans back in 2001, when I finally understood what that meant, a fellow trans woman coming out at work and the fall out from that stopped me from expressing my feelings to anyone for another 10 years.

I attempted suicide in 2013, shortly after coming out, due to a combination of GD, work related stress, family issues and failure to get a referral to the GIC. Any one of those on their own I could cope with, the combination of all four nearly killed me.

I then undertook a year of counselling to deal with the fallout from that and started HRT. By the end of the year my only ongoing issues were work related stress and manageable.

I haven’t been suicidal since, though I do have a fear that I’ll end up back there.

Now that I have completed transition, I no longer have dysphoria about myself and no longer require anxiety medication or counselling to get by.

MrGHardy · 15/08/2018 22:07

But that necessitates everyone has the same understanding of what gender is. A man who doesn’t have dysphoria but claims he is trans because he likes to wear dresses and make up falls under the trans umbrella and should have access to women’s spaces because trans women are women, right?

Instead of widening of what gender can be, that men can wear dresses, they say no “dresses = woman hence I’m a woman”.

Transohobia my aunt Fanny. Or Danny.

UndercoverGC · 15/08/2018 19:36

Jess Bradley accused the Tavistock of transphobia all the time.

I meant someone who never had gender dysphoria but say there trans. You may not have this now but the inference is that you had.
It is just that the ideology is now attempting to say gd is not a requirement to be classed as trans. What is the requirement?
I don’t have gd but I reject stereotypes. Is this what our teens class as trans?
The problem though that our teens are not allowed to reject masculine/ feminine anymore as the Trans Activist are encouraging them to take this further via hormones and surgery and vulnerable teens are believing them. This is why we are concerned. I am worried that removing some degree of ‘gatekeeping’ and talk therapy for self id does not allow teens time to work through their emotions and work through other issues. Teens are impulsive and the TRAs are using this to their advantage.

Most teens have dysphoria of some sort. It kinda goes with the territory. That’s why parents and professional need to ‘gatekeep’ Gatekeeping is not an offensive word. It is protective and must be a priority for teens going through puberty and for young adults whose brain is not fully developed until 24.
A non binary person who can identify as man or woman a few days of the week must not have gender dysphoria either. I imagine. This must be a choice. Thus not innate or immutable. The trans umbrella basically contradicts itself and our vulnerable kids do not have the ability to comprehend this. They go with what is being presented to them on line and our institutions which we now know have been successfully lobbied by the TRAs. The public are seeing this now. My hope is they protect all our kids and go back to watch and wait. Let the kids go through puberty and experience some adult life outside the echo chambers first. Is this a big ask?

IME Psychologists and psychotherapists are not trained and have little interest in looking at societal influences on mental health.

Starkstaring · 15/08/2018 17:03

The trouble is that the current narrative that to be your authentic self you need hormones and surgery - you are simply bringing your body into line with your internal, unchanging gender identity. If you don't you risk suicide. That is the message that today's teenage and young adult transgender people have internalised; and that the medical profession and the entire educational establishment appears to fully endorse. And it is sugar coated by using words like "transgender" instead of "transsexual"; or "top surgery" instead of "double elective mastectomy"; or "hrt" instead of "artificial, off-label cross sex hormones".

And the narrative is also that to be denied those treatments is to be denied your human rights.

So people who might become comfortable with their biological sex over time, are not given that opportunity.

FruitOnAPlatter · 15/08/2018 10:39

Following on from my own transition, I’ve found my own incongruence and related issues have now been resolved and I no longer consider myself to have GD.

I have a mate with type 1 diabetes, he's fitted with an insulin pump, which automatically manages his condition so day to day, he no-longer has to think about being diabetic. Doesn't mean he's no-longer diabetic though.

Generally, if treatment is ongoing, then most people would consider that you still had a condition, but that that condition was under control/no-longer affecting your life, rather than 'cured'. Cured suggests that no further treatment is required.

Charliethefeminist · 15/08/2018 10:38

Most woman who has horribly heavy periods would have an element of bodily hatred. No one loves that. No one.

FruitOnAPlatter · 15/08/2018 10:33

I read an account of a women with GD who went on the pill for heavy periods and her GD disappeared, along with her depression.

I've read this account too, and from the other side my BIL has had depression for years - he recently discovered he has low testosterone, and had testosterone injections which also had a positive affect on his mood/motivation.

NynaeveSedai · 15/08/2018 10:26

You would think so.
The treatment for sex dysphoria (hormones and surgery) is being used for gender dysphoria whereas gender dysphoria is a social issue, not a psychological one.

It's criminal that people with understandable and natural difficulties growing up in a rigid, inflexible and oppressive system are being medicated and mutilated to allieve their distress. They need a prescription of feminism, history and righteous activism, not puberty blockers and mastectomies.

Charliethefeminist · 15/08/2018 10:19

There should be a distinction between sex dysphoria and gender dysphoria.
Sex dysphoria - severe distress at sex of your body
Gender dysphoria - don't like the stereotypes set out for your sex

So far as I know, Tavistock and NHS docs in this field don't make any such distinction. I would have thought the distinction is completely obvious.

Forgot to add also the way gender is in fact sexualised stereotypes; vis a vis the porny blow up doll blowjob face he's making

NynaeveSedai · 15/08/2018 10:10

Gender dysphoria is a meaningless term because gender is an oppressive system. Feeling unhappy (dysphoric) about an oppressive system isn't a disorder, it's a normal human response.

I feel 'gender dysphoria' on a regular basis, being a woman in a world that expects things of me that I don't want to or am not capable of doing. I'm not 'trans' I'm a woman living under an oppressive system.

I don't have sex dysphoria because although I don't love my body I accept it as mine and I do have some positive thoughts about it. I sympathise with people who do experience this but that doesn't make them 'really' the opposite sex.

Travis Alabanza embodies the essence of narcissistic gender obsession. This photo and description is a perfect example of how gender is used when what they mean is clothes and makeup

You don’t have to have gender dysphonie to be trans.
Hangingaroundtheportal · 15/08/2018 09:17

Travis Alabanza annoys me the most actually tbh. Travis is essentially a man who likes to wear eccentric clothes that are not stereotypically associated with what males wear. Some of Travis's outfits are amazing!

Travis could do so much with that, to show the world that men dont have to conform to narrow stereotypes when it comes to what to wear or how to behave.

But no. It's all about being trans and queer and non-binary and 'they' and trying to get into the girls changing room in Topshop.
