Long overdue article about how chuggers almost always approach women (91 women for every 6 men in the observation period), use gendered intimidation tactics and take advantage of women being socialised to be 'polite.'

They don't try me any more. I must have a mystical aura that reads: will rant furiously about the aid industrial complex. Bizarre that they've stopped. Good for me though!

One (a man) recently said to me "Can I talk to you about blah blah" and I just said "No" not aggressively but without stopping, but my 14 yo DD was quite shocked and thought I was being rude. I guess I need to work on her socialisation!

I'm polite. I smile and say 'no thanks' without slowing my stride.

In fact, striding usually stops them from even trying, TBH.
