Has anyone seen this. Thoughts? I watched for the first time ever last year because of IW who did little to advance their cause. Will Paris be more successful?

Deeply stupid puff piece written by deeply stupid woke bro somewhat glosses over Paris's crime:

StoplerMe · 18/08/2018 16:05

The issue was more related to mental well-being. .

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/08/2018 12:48

Well yes, that's the narrative, but the details of the offence are pretty unpleasant.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 18/08/2018 12:15

I though Paris had the epiphany in prison. Or is 'university' a new euphemism for prison?

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/08/2018 11:52

Perhaps they found out the truth about Paris's criminal past.

StoplerMe · 18/08/2018 11:49

Apparently it wasn’t actually Paris Lees choice to withdraw from CBB. There’s quite an intense screening process, and this was the obstacle . .

BettyDuMonde · 09/08/2018 11:06

Maybe she was just overwhelmed with sadness over the death of a Chuckle Brother?

I like to think they read my casting suggestions and signed up an adversary - a second wave feminist.
I wonder if they will now look for someone else to fill the trans story line?

(For crikey’s sake Lily M, do not say yes! I know it’ll seem like lots of money and fame but you are too young and dickish to not do yourself mental harm. Concentrate on starting uni in sept)

Manderleyagain · 09/08/2018 11:02

It's a bit sad reading the funny posts above about the chuckle brothers.

Magpiesarehuge · 09/08/2018 10:55

Bricked it in case they did a Willoughby - not surprised in the slightest. I was surprised Lees signed up in the first place - possibly hoping to undo the damage done by India.

According to the DM 'Paris's deal broke down during last minute negotiations, so she won't be going into the house anymore,'

Wrathofjurgenklop · 02/08/2018 00:45

That's a good point Bewilders.
Pretending to be something you're not takes a lot of energy.

thebewilderness · 02/08/2018 00:28

That is an awful long time to try to stay in character. I expect PL to quit in the middle because of stress.

Wrathofjurgenklop · 02/08/2018 00:21

I'm sure Paris will do very well.
Paris is very media savvy.
I'll be looking forward to the appearances on the Wright stuff.

Writersblock2 · 01/08/2018 22:08

Is it bad I read the acronym as CBeebies? Grin

happydappy2 · 01/08/2018 13:02

I don’t see how PL can win anyone over to their point of view re TW being allowed access to women only spaces-if questioned about the safeguarding of women, children & vulnerable adults they have NO argument...the reality is they are biologically male & will be forever. I’m sure the other people in the house will be nice & respectful but equally just won’t engage in any problematic discussions. It wouldn’t surprise me if PL bails at the last minute due to ‘transphobic hatred’ could be just a publicity stunt.

Hangingaroundtheportal · 01/08/2018 12:26

"To ze, to ze. To zu, to zu".

OMG 😂

LaSquirrel · 01/08/2018 12:13

I watched only the first BB, all those years ago. By the second season it was clear they had already peaked!
I did watch a little of CBB when Greer was on.

Ereshkigal · 01/08/2018 02:27

The Chuckle Siblings

OlennasWimple · 01/08/2018 02:12

Isn't the moniker "Brothers" transphobic or summat?Assuming the gender of both the individuals concerned

BettyDuMonde · 01/08/2018 00:44

Curious to see how Stormy reacts to Paris...

One thing I haven't seen Paris show is much of a sense of humor, and they melt down quite quickly when challenged, so it will be interesting to see how they handle conflict. I wonder if Paris will learn from India's mistake and go easy on the public propositioning of attractive castmates, or at least demonstrate a bit of reasonableness if turned down rather than throwing a public tantrum. I suspect that having grown up as a gay boy will have prepped Paris to handle rejection rather better than India did.

thebewilderness · 01/08/2018 00:42

And, while we're here, can I just point out the delicious irony of a prominent TRA, part of a movement steeped in Orwellian thought crime methodology, going into an environment modelled on the dystopia Orwell created?

That struck me, also.

FloralBunting · 01/08/2018 00:28

I don't like Paris at all. They have modelled themselves on the most unpleasant of the 'cool girls' at school, and I find that despite to doe-eyed (shop bought) prettiness, the chip on their shoulder skews everything that comes out of their mouth.

However, Paris is a skilled media player, and I have no doubt will be wheeling out fake suicide stats at a pace so unrelenting that even the most incisive of BB editors will be unable to cut them all out.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/08/2018 00:17

I don't like Paris much but they can't possibly come across worse than India did.

leyat · 01/08/2018 00:14

Paris doesn't care abt the safety of women at all, says men in women's spaces is a non issue, and that the only real issue in this debate re safety is the safety of trans people. And lots of people have had hard lives, most of us don't go on to try to erase a whole class of oppressed people just to feel good about ourselves though....
