AAK, your experiences sound like mine. I can remember umpteen girlfriends sobbing or puking or both during my teens and twenties. Plus, when I was a barmaid you'd get lots of women hiding from their partners in the loo and have to make sure none of them forced their way in.

I can remember a number of menstrual incidents, both mine and others. One time we obtained a spare cardigan to tie round the waist and cover the arse of a poor woman who had bled all over her tight white jeans.

I was at a big house party over the weekend, queuing for the loo, and when the door opened FIVE teeny weeny teenage girls emerged from an only slightly larger than average cubicle. It was extraordinary.

I think they were probably doing drugs rather than borrowing tampons.

I've had tons of interactions with women in the toilets, but I don't think TRAs would find holding back some random's hair while she alternately vomits and sobs on account of getting blottered because her bf cheated on her in a club, or chat about how much we both hate our boss, very sexy.

They really do think life is one long sexy giggly slumber party for us, and never stop resenting us for not inviting them.

SophoclesTheFox I honestly wonder if TRAs think we are having some sort of continuous sorority party/sleepover/pillow fight in the toilets that we are actively excluding them from. I can only speak for myself but the number of times that:
I've been asked/asked a woman for a tampon in the toilets = 0
I've been asked/asked 'can I borrow your lipstick/mascara/eyelash curlers?' = 0
I've asked/been asked 'how does this bra look? Is it too big? Too small?' = 0

Number of times I've stopped a woman/been stopped for leaving the toilets due to toilet paper on shoe= maybe 2

that's the extent of my girly interactions in the toilets.

That's a thought. How many men would identify as women if they had to go through all the myriad ills of pregnancy and childbirth? Because developing life threatening complications, or more common ones like having all the enamel stripped off your back teeth by reflux or your pelvis start groaning on its hinges isn't perhaps the kind of "womanly" they're thinking of.

I think the lack of realism about how others perceive things is quite pervasive, prawn.

Potty is from the night soil chamber pots that people used because going to the outhouse at night was dangerous.

If you want to identify as a woman, you could at least start by identifying with us.

Some of the old school transsexuals do identify with women. They understand our fears, and they freely admit that they're not women, but that transition eased crippling dysphoria. They are being hurt by TRAs. Not as badly as women and girls, but I do fear for transsexuals when the backlash against aggressive transactivists comes.

Fox when I've spent time browsing sites where transwomen post pictures of themselves asking each other if they pass, I've observed that they hardly ever do. And that's even with a very carefully posed shot, cropped just so and when the subject is young and fresh faced.

Once they're out in the world walking around they're not likely to pass for more than an instant, if that. The proportions are all wrong for a start.

I get the impression that far more TW think they pass than do. Because if you think women don't notice you're male you're also not going to have a realistic view of how they're reacting to you in an enclosed space like a changing room.

Also, the name for the bum skoosher hose thing usually available in Arabic countries' loos is called a shataff. I'm sure that spelling isn't right but phonetically that's what it sounds like. I have always been amused by that.

I did once ask an assistant in a New York grocery store which aisle the loo roll was located, follwed by that very NY 'excuse me'? My husband still slags me for that.

Well that piece makes Fair Play for Women look stupid IMO because not all trans people assigned male at birth are trans women - the overwhelming majority aren't trans women. Drag Queens aren't trans women. Transvestites aren't trans women.
