As when India Willoughby criticised Karen Ingala Smith's Counting Dead Women site for giving men a bad press. The priorities are clear.

Quite.

This is actually the first time I have seen one of these obvious obvious MRA type arguments in real time. Usually I come across it later and its like swiss cheese. Its been eye opening, anyway.

The word 'cis' is banned here. Read the guidelines
www.mumsnet.com/info/trans-rights-moderation-policy

We're not allowed to refer to transwomen as 'trans identified males'. You're not allowed to refer to women as 'cis'.

It works both ways. We're complying. Why aren't you?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 23/07/2018 15:23

And your definition can't be something like "A.Snargle is anyone who identifes as a Snargle". Because you're still left with no definition at all of what a Snargle actually is, YourFriendlyNeighbourhoodTrans.

Of course if you say a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman then a lot of women - possibly most of us - don't qualify because we don't "identify" as woman any more than my gecko "identifes" as a gecko. We just are women.

AngryAttackKittens · 23/07/2018 15:19

It seems like historically MRAs and assorted other misogynists have always been able to piss all over threads here without being deleted or banned. I tend to avoid rape threads for that reason - I figure that if I answer those men the way they deserve to be answered then it'll be me who gets punished, because apparently MNHQ thinks that the voices of misogynists add something of value to discussions about women being traumatized by male violence.

HotRocker · 23/07/2018 15:17

Why the fuck are @MNHQ letting this happen on here? This is not debate, this is certain posters intentionally stirring the pot and upsetting women. There are women on these boards who have been horribly traumatised by rape and sexual abuse, and you’re allowing these posters to goad, and needle. Shame on you.
Its fucking disgusting, MRAs and abusive men are given more protection than the people you claim to serve. There’s a special place in hell for women who throw other women under the bus.
This thread has really upset me.

raisinsraisins · 23/07/2018 15:15

Yourfriendly - I find your post at 14.36 shocking.

And then to mention that female rape victims can’t help it if they get wet! And you say you’re a woman...

AngryAttackKittens · 23/07/2018 15:15

Considerate of Your to do our work for us, no?

Datun · 23/07/2018 15:13

Well yes. I suppose your has the benefit of being honest.

Apart from the pretence that women are just as much of a threat as men, but for some unknown reason in their case it's men who are a threat, not women.

Except when you point that out it's not about being a threat, it's about validation.

Except when you point that out, it's not about validation, because why would they need to be validated as they are just like us.

And the narrative that says I'm a woman, I'm a woman, so shut up, goes nowhere.

Except into the ears of 12 million women...

Keep it coming.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/07/2018 15:13

I agree old

Its a completely different thing and if my dh doesnt fancy it or he is tired or drunk then nothing hapoens Grin

But i think quite often its just an involuntary reaction

And we all know there are levels of fear so you can be afraid and still function...or not!

ALittleBitofVitriol · 23/07/2018 15:11

It ain't feminists or mothers on this site who are trying to remove safeguards that protect children, yourfriendly.

Bumbungo · 23/07/2018 15:11

You posted one article citing a survey of dubious provenance, methods and terminology.

You are also not a woman. Terminology is an issue for you clearly.

You are not welcome in women's sex segregated spaces. We say No. Learn that words have meaning, not any old shit that's going in your head.

I didn't see your apology before my last post.

Floisme · 23/07/2018 15:10

I just find it strange Your that women's fears are so hard for you to understand. Bon voyage.

pickleville · 23/07/2018 15:10

Right, so you do believe men are as sexually intimidated by women as women are of men. Right. You're fucking deluded.

I don't want to be alone with men who I do not know or trust. That includes you. You may be perfectly safe, but having been sexually threatened and intimidated by men from around the age of 12 I believe me and my daughter deserve female only spaces.

If can look at the masses of reports of sexual violence towards women by men and think "hmm it must be that men just aren't speaking up about all the sexually violent women", then you'll have to forgive people for misgendering you when you sound so much like a man.

OldCrone · 23/07/2018 15:08

Rufustheyawningreindeer
Yes arousal can happen in those circumstances, but also i would assume that some of those cases may be women in positions of 'power'

Thanks for a non-judgemental response to my question about arousal. It had occurred to me that fear might be arousing for some men, but I didn't feel I understood well enough to say whether or not it could happen. I can also see how that might happen with a powerful woman coercing a younger man into sex.

Not impressed by the the not so friendly trans calling my question a 'disgusting comment'.

YourFriendlyNeighbourhoodTrans · 23/07/2018 15:07

Floisme

Sure am! I said I was going because I thought my bus would get to it stop on time, but I got on the wrong one and had to change over. So I've got a little time to kill still.

ah right, so now my womanhood is contingent on me automatically agreeing with whatever it is you say? Doesn't sound particularly feminist to me, but what do I know... i'm a male right?

BettyDuMonde · 23/07/2018 15:07

So glad my leisure centre has named the facilities ‘Male and ‘Female’.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/07/2018 15:07

your

Ive missed where people called you a man

Report the posts and they will be deleted

Maryzsnewaccount · 23/07/2018 15:06

What makes you a woman?

What is the definition of woman that includes you, and me, but excludes men?

Without using words like "feel" or being circular?

NoDykeDoesDick · 23/07/2018 15:05

Thatjourno, I'd imagine that's why FairPlay used the statistic that 20% of transgender people are expected to seek medical treatment, rather than using the statistic that only 5% currently have sought treatment.

YourFriendlyNeighbourhoodTrans · 23/07/2018 15:04

bumbungo

I posted data.

I use women's facilities because I'm a woman - women rape women less.

Tension
Feel free too. It's a quote which is entirely out of context and literally cuts out half of the sentence to make me look bad.

It's a smear. Use that tactic if you want, I'll just direct people to the original post and expose your lies. :)

Floisme · 23/07/2018 15:03

Still here Your? Do you know there's a Flouncer's Corner for posters who can't tear themselves away.

Anyway we've gone round this circuit at last three times now. Poster after poster has explained why they don't want males in sex segregated spaces. CuriousaboutSamphire's post on Sun 22-Jul-18 16:52:37 really resonated with me but there are plenty of others. Each time you dismiss and belittle them. (Here's a tip: if you want women on here to take you seriously, don't describe their fears as 'silly'. You're welcome.)

What is really curious is that, in my experience, women don't need it explaining like this. In fact every woman I have ever spoken to understands it intuitively. We have to - it's woven into our daily lives. And yet here you are, over and over and over.

AngryAttackKittens · 23/07/2018 15:02

I don't think you have a legitimate boundary

I mean, at least this one is being honest, right?
