And apparently, later in the thread, the reason we don't talk about transmen as much as transwomen is that feminism is not about the men.

There are a lot of internet people who seem totally blinded by their own self obsession. First, while it WOULD be great to get away from heteronormative patriarchy I can't see how everyone being in a pink or blue box will help this (no matter what they were born as). Secondly, as others mentioned, what people do with babies is just accept them as they seem to be based on evidence. Well balanced parents will be allowing children to develop a more complex identity then just 'girl' or 'boy'. I'm not sure how denying them an identity early on would help child development, as far as I've seen they want to understand where they fit in with the world early on.
Aside: If we reorganized the whole of society to rid ourselves of sex/gender. We could dress all kids the same, only have gender neutral names and allow them to do what they like that would be fine by me but I think by about age 7 they would have self organised into tribes. It's just what humans are like.
